Orva recently changed their store and now they only sell shoes. I really liked the old store - they were great for hosiery and accessories, and I got all my gym clothes there. The new store has a wide selection of shoes, much more than they used to but a lot of the same brands. I wear Merrell and Dansko for work a lot, and they carry both those brands.

I pass by Orva everyday and I go in pretty often. I always check out the shoes and sneakers and while they have a good selection - you'd probably be better off going to Chinatown, Jamaica Ave or Fordham Rd if you're looking for really unique sneakers. As for clothes, they have cute Free People stuff and other designers but it's not like you can't get that stuff elsewhere. And it's expensive for basics - I really needed some plain white socks for the gym and I ended up paying $15 bucks for a pack of 4 pairs!

Orva is a fun place to shop and it's unusual to find a place like it on the upper east side. It's two floors with the first floor dedicated to bags, hats, hosiery, and women's attire. The second floor is entirely sportswear and shoes. Although in general the brands are designer throughout the store and the prices are high, sometimes they have some really good sales and you can get a good buy. I always find the window displays to be inviting so I enjoy stopping in to see what they have.

good clothing store on the upper east side. lots of trendy clothing, though it tends to be overpriced for what you are buying, still you can find some items that are unique and worth buying.
