I have to say that I have been to this place a few times and they got me hooked. It doesn't matter what you try I promise it's going to be good. Everything is fresh and served quite quickly so it's not a bad spot to go to for a lunch break. Trust me you wont be disappointed!

I just love this place and so do my kids - I never tried the delivery service but eating in is always a joy here.

A friend took me to Waldy's before about 2 weeks ago. The pizza was absolutly great. Evenly the place was clean, the employers were nice and the place had a mellow vibe
4Just thinking of it gets me salivating. I used to work very close and since i moved I come up with excuses to get in that neighborhood to have Waldy's pizza another time. It is truly addictive.

Pros: Ther is no other pizza for me
Cons: A bit on a salty side
Stopped by while I was working on some call out reviews last week and had some fanastic pizza... Great crust, toppings, and fired to perfection! Keep up the great work!
4The pizza at Waldy's is good -- they have interesting and fresh toppings. And the personal sizes are nice for lunch. BUT, the delivery service is terrible! Every time someone in our office calls, the person on the phone at Waldy's says something like, "We have a $400 order, so it's going to be a long time. A very long time." They aren't apologetic -- rather, it seems like we're bothering them by calling! And today, I stopped in to get a chicken Caesar salad... it was pathetic! Some iceberg lettuce and some tiny chunks of chicken with parmesean. That's it. Not worth the $7+.

Pros: good pizza
Cons: bad service, bad salads
I never understood what was so good about this place and the owner told me it was the woodfired oven. This is absolutely the best tasting pizza that I have ever had. Try it for yourself and you will be hooked also.
4So I walked by this place across the street on 6th Ave and I finally got to stop their for lunch. At first I was going for the "Wood Roasted Penne," but seeing people eating their slices I ended up changing my mind and got a small "The Beacon" (Wild Mushrooms & Onions to go. And it was a great choice. The ingredients were so fresh and the pizza itself had little oil on it. It was pretty amazing! The crust was very crispy and the combination was just delightful. For $6 I think this is an awesome deal, and you gotta love the fresh basil there where you could cut your own straight from the plant.
The line was pretty long there at 1 pm on a work day, but it's worthwhile. I wish I could eat in because they put my pizza in a dorky white pizza box -- yes, the ones you got from Ray's... I am going to try the penne next time and see if the wood blocks really make a difference!

Pros: Crispy thin crust, fresh ingredients, fresh basil, not too expensive
Cons: Dorky white box for a small pie
Nice neighborhood place with very good thin crust pizza. Place is clean and prices are good. No complaints.

Pros: Pizza is prepared very quickly
Cons: There aren't more locations
I dont know whats with the bad rep, this place is great, i have tried it on 5 different occassions. The service is freindly and quick, the pizza is thin and very very crispy, if you like brick oven pizza, that is thin then this is the place for you.

The pizza here is out of this world. From the sauce to the cheese. The thin crust is unbelievable and the fresh basil was a pleasent surprise. I would definitly recommend that anyone who is in the area to try this place out.

Pros: Pizza and cheese
Cons: some times a line
I don?t know why some of these reviewers are giving Waldy?s a bad rap. This is the best and most authentic pizza in New York. It is most definitely on par with pizza I?ve had in Rome and Florence Italy. The Fresh herbs are the icing on the cake. I love fresh ingredients. As for the crust, it is perfect. (Although, if you are looking for thick, hi-carb, chew it for a while crust, this is not the place for you). I grew up in New York and a nice New York style slice with it?s orange grease and big bubbles of dough has an appeal that brings me back to my child hood, but a small pie from Waldy?s brings me back to Italy. This place is Ten blocks from my office but I power walk it anyway. It's worth the walk and the extra cardio relieve me of the carbohydrate guilt.

Pros: Awsome fresh ingredients. Eat it there for best taste.
Cons: 10 blocks from my office.
The pizza is so crispy and delicious that there are so few New York pizza joints that are like it. One thing that is interesting about these rectangular pizzas are so SMELLY that its simply permeates the entire room. Delivery is fast and the place is great.

Pros: Pizza, Macaroni, Service
Cons: Prices, Crowded, Small Place
I eat at Waldys every week, as it is near where I work. They have an excellent variety of pizzas, not your run-of-the-mill selections. The absolute best is the hot & sweet sausage with peppers. The crust is thin and crunchy. Everything looks to be made fresh daily. I also love the pasta. The service is quick as well. This is not your typical pizza joint, the creator is the head chef at The Beacon Restaurant, as you can tell from the dozens of articles posted inside Waldy's. I've never had a bad experience, despite the previous upset reviewer.

Pros: Quality of the ingredients
Cons: Small seating area
It looked really really good so a few weeks ago I asked the girls from work if we should try it for lunch. One told me that many months prior another employee went there and she ordered a pizza with sunny side up eggs on it. The server dropped it on the ground within her sight(!), picked it up off the ground and tried to serve it to her. Horrified, she demanded an apology and asked for the manager, at which point she discovered that he was the manager. So last week they decided that enough time had passed and that they would try the pizza again. They went and had a great lunch. They give you a little bowl of free olives and they have herb bushes that you can cut your own fresh herbs from to put on your pizza. Magical. They loved it. I decided to go today to pick up a mini pizza margarita. I brought it back to the office. Half way through I noticed something odd. They baked a friggin latex glove into my pizza. I immediately threw up. Latex is often worn to cover an open wound. I still feel dizzy from the experience.

Pros: you can add your own herbs
Cons: latex gloves in pizza, dropping pizza on floor
The pizza here is great. Hands-down excellent. Pasta not extraordinary but good. Pizza is orginal and affordable.
yum!

Being a saltaholic I discounted other reviewers comments on various sites about the crust being too salty. But they were right. Not only was it salty it was as dry as dirt.. and burned to a unappetizing crisp. I had the Beacon, and the toppings were bland. I could have made a better pizza in an easy bake oven.
My friend had the mozzarella and tomato penne. Another thumbs down. No flavor and also burned. Yes, it is possible to burn pasta.
I work in the area, and the other reviewer is right that there's not much around here, but any other choice would be better. I would eat at the McDonald's across the street before I ever eat at this place again.

while i love thin crust brick oven or wood fired pizza, this one fails to meet its potential. one, the crust is prebaked so it's like eating a pizza made on a pita, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but the crust was a little too salty for me. it left a salty and prune like feeling on my lips when i was done. two, it's 4 dollars for a margarhita slice which is about the same size as one big reg slice from any pizza joint. so 4 is a bit much, 3 would make more sense. overall, it's not horrible, but not great, and considering that there are very few good places to eat right around there, it's not a bad choice if you're right in the area, but not a place to make a journey to...
