Moomia is awesome! The music on both levels were great! I definitely recommend this club. The staff was awesome as well! It was my frist time overthere, I found it on citysearch and I went on a date there. It's great place and the music was good.
I recommend it to all of you!

Me and my friends were walking in soho and saw this place moomia.it looked pretty good.we wanted to get a couple of martinis and go dance somewhere alse,but then in a bit there started a party.so what happened..we ended up dancing at moomia!I had a great time!we met the owner and we got us drinks!very cool guy!I deff coming back with more friends to smoke hookas and taste all flavored martinis!

I recomend this. To try the place!

I've been here many time and have never been let down. Any night of the week you're going to find a DJ cranking some tunes, a variety of hookah flavors to smoke, and a very reasonably priced food menu. Then the weekends you can dance the night away! Tuesdays have also been busy lately.

Check it out for sure!

It is all good at Atmosphere Moomia Fridays as i encountered.My second time around and it was a sure shot spot shacking out with my friends.I enjoyed a very nice evening of dinner dancing and drinks specials in the early goings.So many flavors of Hookahs to smoke at will. A mixture of flavor to the taste of good looking people. Especialy the ladies as they flow in through out the evening.The early bird special is surely whats up on fridays.The Atmosphere is only right as you go for your with a mixture of djs with style and fashion.A great place with a great staff.

I usually go out for the music, so finding Moomia was a great moment for me. Their lineup of DJs are masters of the 4-on-the-floor that made me love the nightlife in the first place. There's usually 2 or 3 different DJs a night but the flow is never broken. If you love House, you should definitely check Moomia out.

i am working not far from Moomia so i like to stop there just to chill and smoke hookah. They are open 7 days a week and every day something going on there. I love to spend Mondays there with my friends, its kinda quiet but the house music is just great. Exactly what you need for Monday relaxing evening. Wednesday they have open mike. On the weekend is just soooooo crazy over there. I sound like a promoter but to tell the truth there are not so many places in NY like this one where people can enjoying themselves, their friends company, good music and awesome martini at one place.

Checked out this place with my girls on a random Saturday night. Cute Egyptian lounge with hookah and sushi? Who knew those two would make a great mix! Music was quite different and very chill.

Ok now to the drawbacks, ..... drinks were a bit expensive (in this economy bars are giving away drinks or lowering prices...) compared to other lounges i've been to and also staff could be friendlier.

Overall, a cool lounge with good potential ;-)

I had a great time friday night at moomia for peteys' birthday bash, and christian scotts' 2 new cd releases. Starting off with dinner and drinks and having a fine time. The red wine most certainitly was doing a number on me.Dancing chatting and mingling o yes made it the hot spot to trot for my friends and i. The party was on time also the music was great. I was most seriously feeling the flow of djs as they switch up. I'll be back. Just look out for me at moomia. It is the place to be on a friday night.

House, R n' B, Hip Hop, more than 15 kinds of martinis, more then 20 flavors of hookahs! And sushi! All in one place!!! Isn't it awesome?! The kitchen is open till 4am, the staff is friendly and drinks are strong;) Great times, people!

It was most intresting and wonderful to be apart of such a joyious group of people as my friends and i enjoyed the vibes all night long.The Atmosphere after work friday party is a vibes that is building each and every minute and hour that we were there. A great deal of hostess pleasing the mixture of people as they eat drink and dance. Djs and entertainers on both levels also with a time to dine anytime you like was at our pleasure. International cuisine of choice is great and the drinks will put you out. To top it off the hookah was off the hook as we all puffed away at it.
Friday nights is the place to be with an atmosphere that is well rounded off. Radio friendly and underground is the mix of choice for you vibes on fridays at moomia.

Ok so i checked this place out last friday and i gotta say i love it ! It's a nice place to hangout . I tried thier sushi and wow i love it . I stayed because the musc that was being played was nice chill tunes then as the night progressed the music got even better nice house beats on 1 floor and hip hop on the other so much of a variety you really cant beat it . I cant wait for this friday to come im gonna go since they say it's every friday starting at 6pm - 4am

MooMia lounge is by far one of the best places I?ve been, the staff is very kind and friendly there drinks are awesome and the many different flavors of hookah?s to choose from make it something to remember specially the mystic ancient Egypt theme its base on the first time I worked in there I thought I was in another world, Friday night?s Atmosphere After work party is the place to be starts from 6pm with Boomboxglobal and diamond life delivering the great music you cant go wrong I definitely recommend

I had a good time at the Afterwork Party on Friday at Moomia Lounge. I met alot of nice people there. They had everything two floors of music playing hip hop r&b and reaggae on one floor and house music on the second floor and all of the djs were great they played everything I wanted to hear and they didnt miss a beat. Moomia also has hookah which I never had before but trying it for the first time I fell in love with it even all my friends loved it too. When we got hungry we didnt even have to leave Moomia because they had a nice selection of food there. To me I think the best thing was the party never stopped it started at 6pm and ended at 4am. I had so much fun i didnt even want to go home. I been to alot of different lounges but i am putting Moomia Lounge on the top of the list. I am going again next week and im bringing more friends with me I hope I see you there.

I love the decor and the couches are ultra comfy and a great place to chill with coworkers after a long week at work. The DJ was amazing with great international selections that I don't hear played too often. It was a pleasant surprise. The bartenders are really friendly and I spent my entire Friday night there. Will definitely make this my new hang out spot. There's so much space that you don't ever have to feel too crowded.

Had a party on Saturday @ Moomia with 35 people and nearly 75 show up. There was no problem with that @ Moomia and they took great care of us. We recieved a bottle of Champagne on the house and they did not force us to get bottles for the tables we took up. We did buy 3 bottles when it got packed to skip the line at the bar . I found the sushi to be excellent and the chef made it for us party style. The drinks were amazing and fresh. The highest price drink was $13 which was the amazing Mango Martini I tried it before in other places but this one was the best I guess they have a secret reciepe to make it. I really enjoyed Moomia as there was no in between the lines. I got what I asked for .Also they let all my friends in for reduced price which was nice of them,

I was with my girl this pass friday and she mention "Let go to Moomia." I've never been there before but friends have told us, "You need to check this spot called Moomia". As we got there around 11:30 the place was empty. I was in total shock, after staying for 30 min i decided to go to my favorite spot and to my amazement it was empty also. Maybe I got them on a bad day...........I love the Decor and the DJ, cute waitress lol............I will try again look out for my next comment....... :)

A girlfriend, and I went last Thursday, and we danced til about 4am, theres hookah, the drinks aren't over priced and the music selections are dope! Sin Sin better look out!

Moomia is the best place to party in NYC! The crowd is always fun and drinks are reasonably priced for
NYC.It was such a nice night,We reserve a table and had no problem to get in for free. The guy at the door was very friendly and gave us a really nice table. A lot of good looking girls in there and the DJ did a good job.

I never heard of Moomia before, I found it on Citysearch when looking for a place to host 35 of our friends for my boyfriends b-day party on a Saturday night. The staff was so amazing, the music was awesome. The manager was extremely accommodating, as was the staff from beginning to end. I highly recommend having your next party here!

Wow! Besides being a little hungover,Moomia is awesome! Where else are you going to find a dance party that goes like this till 4AM on a Wednesday? The house DJ was awesome, the bartenders were sweet and nice, and the music and crowd was awesome! I brought two of my girlfriends, and even they had the good time of dancing! Go Moomia Go!!!

I decided to throw my 25th Birthday party at Moomia last Friday. It was kind of last minute thing . My party of around 40 people had our own tables right next to the bar, 2 booths reserved for my party and an absolutely sweatheart waitress by the name of Natasha. We were there from 830 till like 3AM and the party kept on getting bigger and bigger. Natasha and the rest of the crew( including the busboy who took our pictures) were great. She made sure that all my guests were satisfied and happy with her service. I had an absolutely amazing time there and totally recommend this place. AWESOME.

Turn around - and go somewhere else. Im not getting into the details, but it's bad, BAD. I'm filing with the Better Bizz Bureau on Monday. I dont recommend having ANY kind of a party here as the staff is not equipt to handle more than a party of 4. I may be giving them too much credit though.

If you dont have the cash to fly to Egypt in order to get r@ped, come to this place.

I agree with G3, worst experience in NYC -- or they must of been having a really bad night.

I'm not making this up....our waitress quit durring our meal. She effed up our bill....im pretty sure i paid about $200 more than what our bill should have been. I'm pretty sure despite the fact that we had to order twice and the our bill came out twice - the manager never came over despite us asking for an explaination. I'm pretty sure that my food never came and was never removed from the bill.

The first thing the management made us do, was check our coats.....3 dollars a coat...my friend was charged $6 because he had a shopping bag --- bad form!!!

then we sat at our seats, which are cool....but it took about 20 mins for our "waitress" - who is your typical spoiled "I want a BMW" girl - to come and get our drink order. I am not lying here.....she took one drink order...went and got it....took another drink order....went on got it......etc......I THOUGHT I WAS BEING PUNKED!!!!!

This place is terrible, way over priced and crowd is lame -- I would never recommend this place.

Being frequent to lounges & clubs I have some expectations. I like the Egyptian decor and consider it up to par, the people are good looking, and the music fun. I went their with a mixed group, about 3 guys and 4 girls. We didn't make reservation, but did get a table at the door. The decor itself was very interesting and the waitresses even more so. We had a fantastic time, the music was great, and the service fantastic. I would go back any time. For a place to be located in such a desolate area yet be that good of a place, I think that deserves some stars if not all of them

We have been having our parties at Mooma for over a year. We've had great experience with the space, staff and service. The manager is super courteous and the waitresses are hot and attentive. I would recommend this place highly if you are looking to host a party.

It took us 25 minutes to get our drinks and even after an hour later, we never got our hookah. After profusely apologizing for her bad service, the waitress then had the NERVE to 'automatically' add a 20% gratuity for the total of 3 drinks we ordered on our bill. It was ridiculously crowded, ridiculously dark and ridiculously loud with bad music. Wouldn't go back - don't care how nice and accomodating they are during the week. If you're a bar/club, shouldn't you be top notch on a weekend?

Cons: Automatic 20% gratuity when ordering 3 drinks? Give me a break.

I was here on wed this past week and really enjoyed it. The champagne give away for one full hour was unexpected but highly appreciated by our group of hard working nyers :)
The girl singing solo was amazing. Never heard of her style but was pleasantly surprise. We dance for a wihile and had some sushi. The host was really nice and i enjoyed the dj playing minimal.
I highly recommend this place.

Went to Moomia last Thursday and heard Vatican City spin for the first time. The music was unforgettable with sounds that make for a euphoric experience....literally. The base was thumping with a selection of records that knocked me over the head. It's a grungy spot, but the room was filled with ambiance and the pleasant aroma of the finest cuts of flavored tobacco smoke flowing from hookahs. There was also plenty of comfortable seating with moroccan cushions disperesed throughout the room. If you're looking for something out of the ordinary with mind expanding music to make you rage, this is the place to check out. I'll definitely be back.

Our friends had talked ahead of time to the manager and had a few tables put together without being forced to buy a bottle or any of that other nonsense that goes with most NYC joints.

Chill evening with hookahs all around. The food was amazing although a LOT eclectic with this seemingly egyptian place (i say that because of the hyroglyphics on the wall) serving some of the most tasty sushi we've all ever had...

Good times. Definitely would go back in a heartbeat.

I see Moomia as an exquisite spot in New York nightlife. With a unique Egyptian pyramid wall decorum the interior exudes tranquility an owe. Yet the actual happening powered by house music and occasional fashion shows calls for an all night party. I m there!

For those who think that we create the stars we put 4 stars for this review.Our patience get lost after some one who's name J.B.W Doctor by profession try to leave our place without pay.He gave bartender the card which he cancel before he used it in our place & yes he would get a way with it, if not one "but" he forget that some places have the cameras which record every thing costumers do and another thing ,that we know some of his friends( it is the only reason) we don't put his full name in our review and did not lock him down for the fraud he try to do in our place ,because compare to him people who work in our place have conscientious about people like him.This person saying he forget to pay the tab(ok...my fault) no it is not ok ,YOU come back because you had a visit from police department and next time if you'll try to write a lye about our place ,we may change our mind and will give people your full name and the report number so people can find out who you are the same way as you did when you lye about insects in our food.I know it was you and nobody else -first because our kitchen is clean,second when people find things you mention refuse to pay for it in this kind of situations .We dont remember something like that happen in our place from day one we opened. Also no body get sick from our food because it is fresh .Our advice leave our place along and try to pay your bills next time, so you will be never in the situation like that .And as for you we dont need business from people like you ,we dont mind you'll not come back we are sure other owners too who needs people who does not pay there bills.As we know from close friends it was your first and i guess the last night when you bye your friends a drink because now you know that you can be trapped again.

I love this place. It's cosi, very exotic and I had the best times on week end. I am not sure why the fuzz and slandering but I can speak for my many month sof experience in here. The food is healthy, clean, fresh. I many times got chef Henri go down to china town that is 2 blocks away and get me fresh ingredients when I come late night for a fix and hookah. I had my birthday party here 2 weeks ago and it was the best time I had this year. I am surely going to come back no worry as my experience doesn't not add up with the non sense i just read below.

My friends and I had a a private party this past weekend and everybody loved it. We had the downstairs lounge which has a mummy in the middle of the room and heiroglyphics all over the wall. The space was great for our party. The manager took really good care of us.

i definitely agree with magzy47 and i had exactly the same experience. this place is definitely a shady business. i left the bar on a saturday and forgot to close my tab (ok..my fault)...went back to settle up a few days later and there was at least $80 of extra alcohol added to my bill which i never ordered. i argued with the owner and he said "our bartenders don't make mistakes...pay the bill or we call the police". i've already filed a complaint with the B3tter Business Bureau. don't EVER go to this place...seems like i'm not the only one who's had this experience

HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!
We went there for a friends bday, the night started out with a manager trying to squeeze our table of 21 together 10 min after arriving into something that may fit 10 people.... while we were ordering dinner (he told us we are taking up too much space). Then it took 20 min to get a hookah, and another 15 to replace it, because it was broken. It took an hour to get miso soup and an hr and a half to get the rest of the food, which we got with no utencils for and where forced to eat with our hands. Getting drinks at the table was useless so we went ot the bar and the bartender suffered a breakdown because she overcharged people and they were yelling. Like me ordering 3 mixed drinks and a beer and being charged $53, then when asking what the hell was that about she said 37 yet charged my card 43 and wouldnt change it. Then we get our bill and they charge for food they never brought out. Over all in with in 3 hrs the entire party left becase they were tired of fighting with the staff that acted like they were doing us a favor. This place is BAD, dont go there... plenty of better places that can handle a lot of people.

Great place,workers and music.What more you can ask for?Came for a birthday party and I had a blast.Beautiful staff without attitude ( this is rarity nowadays )and all of them are very friendly.Table service was great,she was very helpful.The house martinis(pomgrenite)was great.Their house special sushi was also really good .The place was packed and banying.Everybody had fun,it was great.definitely go back.

Went here on a Saturday with some friends. The place has a pretty good ambiance, hip middle eastern layout. The service was fair and drinks range a tad toward the expensive side, though nothing too surprising considering the trendy atmosphere. The downstairs was a nice place to smoke a hookah, though the music was too loud to hold a good conversation. The upstairs floor was wide enough to break out and dance to.

Oh and just as a side note. Notice how every negative review gets 4 votes for being unhelpful, while every positive review gets 4 very helpful votes. Gee I wonder if the management checks the site...
