On May 29, 2010 I purchased what I thought was a new Blackberry from this Great Northern Mall Cell phone store. First, it has a large sign that reads AT & T above the door so I thought it was an AT & T store. It is not. And neither is it's other location in Shoppingtown Mall. The evening of May 29th, when I turned the phone on, I realized this phone was used and it contained private information of the previous owner. I called the store immediately (May 29th) and they told me to return the phone the following day as it was about 9pm at that point. I drove out to the Great Northern Mall which is not near my home, to return the phone. They told me they did not have another phone like that and to just continue to use this phone until a new one came in. I told them that I did not want my contract to start until such time I received a new phone, which the salesman agreed. The first problem is that they allowed me to walk out the store with all of this persons information on the phone, never once showing any concern for this young persons safety. I told them at this person was called and told that I have their phone and this previous owner said she had returned 3 cell phones to this place, which I relayed that message to the manager, Joshua, who said that was a lie! I did use the phone until June 10th when I finally received an upgraded phone. However, by June 27, the phone was not properly working so I went to return it to the Shoppingtown store where Amy told me she would not take the phone back until I called Tech support to see if they could repair it. I did what she had asked but due to surgery was unable to call the store again until June 30 at which time Joshua told me my 30 day return policy had expired!! I have made several calls to AT & T who said there is not much they can do since it is not an AT & T store. I believe the phone should have been taken back immediately on June 27th and also that selling me a used piece of equipment on May 29th when in fact, I paid for a new one, should have made the original contract null and void and I was told by several reps at this store that my contract would not start until I received my new phone. "Funny" but Josua said that was a lie too just like he told me about the previous owner of the used phone he sold me! lol. OMG... What do you think? The Manager of this store is rude and provides terrible customer service.
