Okay, so this place looks a little shady but, for the price and location...it was great! Just blocks from Times Square and it was super cheap! Probably not the place for kids sincer there are bondage photos on the walls when you walk in and everything is black & white but, it is a really cool hotel.

The bed glows in the dark, there are florescent lights under it, the headboard is padded and there is a Kama Sutra Book handy in every room. Can one ask for anything more? The room service also made a burger I still fantasize about at times.

No windows, eerie yellow lighting, waitresses in sleek backless dresses. Mmmm mystery. A great place to skip off for that wifeless rendezvous. Somewhat on the expensive side (cost us $45 each for the night, no major food-- just bar snacks), the staff is efficient and friendly, if not exactly intimate. The calamari was typically greasy, but the signature hamburger fondue was excellent. Much recommended. The choice of beers was ONE. But since it was Sierra Nevada, that wasn't so bad. At 9:30 the place was packed. But 10:30 we were all that was left. We closed the place at about 12:30. We could only guess that the rest of the patrons had taken their business upstairs into the hotel. --Drink Club is a roving group of NYC drinkers.

Pros: atmosphere, hamburger fondue, peaceful after 10:30

Cons: too crowded early, run out of food/beer early, expensive

This was our first time in New York and we couldn't have picked a better hotel for the price. The staff was extraordinary. They were so friendly and helpful. The room was a bit small for 4 people but we didn't care because we only slept there. And from what I understand of NYC, unless you want to spend hundreds of dollars a night, most hotels have small rooms. The rooms were clean and the hotel is in a GREAT location. That is all we cared about. They also offer a small continental breakfast which saved us money. Because of the location and the friendly staff, I would definitely stay there again. Thank you to everyone at the Best Western Ambassador for making our first trip to NYC memorable!!!
