I was mortified by my experience at the Ludlow Nail Spa. I decided to treat my aunt for her birthday and get a pedicure myself. My aunt had her 'pedicure' first. As we were there chatting, I noticed the technician was taking some shortcuts on the pedi, so I questioned her. At first, she pretended she didn't understand me, when I repeated my question (it was about the nail polish removal - they didn't use polish remover, it was being sanded off), she got huffy with me. I looked at my poor aunt, who was supposed to be enjoying her day and told the woman to just stop. I asked for the manager and was told they weren't there. I profusely apologized to my aunt, got her up and promptly walked out. They tried to get me to pay the $40+ dollars for a 'pedicure' but I laughed at them. Horrible, horrible, horrible.

This place stank. Not only did I pay $45 for a pedicure, and sat in there for absolutely EVER waiting for her to finish, but after I sat with my feet under the dryer for three cycles and asked her if it was OK to put my shoes on, she said yes, and I got home and the effing pedicure was RUINED. I called them back and the only thing they can do is fix the damage, no comps, no discounts on future pedis, and I don't have time to go all the way back there today so it's a wash. They stink. Go to the one on Avenue A and 9th Street, they're much better, AND cheaper.

Pros: there are none.

Cons: expensive and bad service.

I am utterly frustrated with this place to the point I would take them to FAIR TRADING COMMISSION if I had the time or energy to waste.
Seriously don't even attempt to walk in for the following reasons:

1. A pedicure which lasted 10 minutes, (no buffing/clipping/scrubbing or usual service), consisited of filing slightly, taking previous nail polish off by using a file to sand it away!! feet were put in coldish water for 2 minutes and then a straight painting of my toe nails.

2. The rude ignorant lady demanded (not asking politely) "CAN YOU PAY ME NOW!!"

3. In which i proceeded to ask how much? She responds, "$31 dolla"

Me: Are you kidding me?
Her: How much tip you give me?
Me: (wishing NONE) $4
Her: How you pay?
Me: Card
Her: Extra $2

At this point I was beyond angered & vowed to never return!
My fricken 10 minute pedicure cost me $37. Worst money ever spent, would have rather given it to the homesless! Honestly.

Sincerely [enter curse word here] & NEVER going back!

Dare to make the same mistake??
