5 Stars: Deborah Healed My IBS (by als23)

As a person who is always in control of life, I found myself utterly helpless suffering from IBS symptoms for almost 2 years. The worst of it was the panic attacks. It felt like a never ending cycle, and I longed to be normal again. Out of desperation, I tried multiple western medicines,but to no avail. I began to google acupuncture and found Sage Wellness
where I began my treatment with Deborah. I took her suggestions and instructions very seriously, I kept a color-coded food log and stayed off of certain "trigger" foods, together with weekly acupuncture sessions and
herbs she prescribed, my food log looked a lot "greener" after 2 months. I can honestly say that my life is back to normal. One of the great things
about Deborah is that she doesn't just treat your symptoms, rather, she gets to the root cause, and for me, that was stress. I highly recommend Deb, her genuineness and kindness in addition to her expertise is
definitely one of a kind!

I went to Sage Wellness because my husband and I were having trouble conceiving. We tried for about a one year and went through one round of IVF which unfortunately did not work. At that point, I wanted to look at alternative routes before going through another round of IVF. That is when I contacted Deborah at Sage Wellness. I found Deborah to be extremely knowledgeable and caring. She educated me on my cycle which no other doctor had! Through acupuncture treatment and herbs, I began to see the difference in my periods and felt so much more relaxed. Four months later we got pregnant! I am thrilled beyond belief and very happy we were able to get pregnant naturally. I recommend Deborah for anyone who is looking for acupuncture and their health.

After suffering with Mono for 16 months I became desperate for some relief. I saw about 9 different doctors who could only prescribe rest. I felt the doctors I spoke to did not understand how debilitating this virus was and therefore did not make an effort to help me. I eventually became so ill that I was bedbound. I dropped out of school and continued to rest while my symptoms became worse. I was emotionally and physically exhausted and frustrated. Talking to my school advisor, I learned she too struggled with mono for years and did not find any relief until she tried acupuncture. I began researching holistic healing and came across Deb Valentin?s practice online. I arrived at Deb?s office barely able to walk. I was so weak that even a short walk would exude all my energy. I had body aches and migraines and a slew of respiratory problems. I had a chronic cough, shortness of breath, chest pains and congestion. I had lost my appetite and suffered from nausea resulting in a weight loss of 20 pounds.

I decided to try acupuncture as a last resort. I sat down in Deb?s office and explained all my symptoms. She looked at my tongue, took my pulse and began to explain which organs were weakened by the mono, how this was affecting my body and how to replenish my ailing body. I had been looking for these answers for nearly a year and a half and was beyond relieved to hear the problem and even better, a solution.

Within a few sessions my symptoms had improved greatly, within a few months I was completely healed. I started working again and attending school the following semester. I still see Deb nearly a year later when I feel my body becoming weak or sick again or when the stresses of life becomes overwhelming. Deb is very knowledgeable and is always giving me tips to live a healthier life. I would absolutely recommend Deb?s practice to anyone who is suffering and cannot find the relief they deserve.

I had suffered from adult acne for several years. My acne was related to stress/hormone fluctuation, but I wanted to stay away from pills and a chemical approach. I had never tried acupuncture before and feel so grateful that Deb's treatment was recommended to me. I had tried everything from topical products to laser facials and was frustrated and disappointed with their inefficacy.

Deb's approach is holistic and thorough. She addressed every aspect of my symptoms, including dietary modifications, environmental changes, topical products, herbal supplements and, of course, the acupuncture itself. She is extremely competent and generous with her talents and knowledge. She was always flexible with my scheduling, our meetings were never rushed and her focus and concern made our sessions feel thorough, thoughtful and effective. The herbal treatment and acupuncture, in particular, were modified depending on my symptoms and progress from week to week.

I've seen more improvement with my skin than I'd have every imagined, and my family and friends have noticed as well. I feel more aware, confident and centered- and my skin reflects that. I'm so happy I worked with Deb and would highly recommend her to anyone interested in a more holistic approach to medicine.

I first came to Deb seeking relief for a few problems, the worst of which was some stress-related acid reflux. I was taking an array of over-the-counter medications without relief. Additionally, my medical doctor put me on an expensive OTC medication, and I was also seeing a psychologist for my anxiety. Still, something seemed amiss, unbalanced, and being a medical practitioner myself, I knew it wasn?t being properly addressed by Western medicine alone. So, I decided to try Chinese medicine. Between my treatments with Deb and the herbal regimen, my symptoms began to resolve in a few weeks. I don?t use any of the other medications anymore! Deb, in addition to being a skillful practitioner, is also a great listener and always very supportive and attentive to my needs. She makes me feel so comfortable and I always look forward to my appointments with Deb. They?re the most relaxing part of my day! I?ve already recommended Deb to my family members and would recommend her to anyone else looking for some relief!

I sought treatment as I was 38 weeks pregnant and had been suffering from severe lower back pain for over two weeks. The condition had been so debilitating that I had to finish work earlier than planned and I was mostly homebound. Not only was I in significant pain, but also I still had things to do in preparation for the baby being born!

I spoke to Deb on the phone and her confidence in her ability to help me was comforting right away. As a practitioner, Deb?s demeanor is sensitive, supportive, and very comforting. The pain started to subside a day after my first treatment and after 3 treatments, I am not in any pain and I am much more mobile! I am a 44-year-old female who has been trying to get pregnant for the past year. I have gone through two IVF's cycles before I got pregnant with a frozen embryo transfer left over from an egg by the second IVF cycle. Prior to the transfer, I went to Debbie Valentin to prepare me for the frozen embryo cycle. I was immediately impressed by how caring and knowledgeable she was. She was sympathetic to my concerns and put me at ease right away with her professional bedside manner. I was elated to find out that I was pregnant under her care. Prior to the acupuncture session, she would take her time out to consult with me about my current condition and adjust her acupuncture services according to my needs. I always leave her place with a sense of calm and relaxation. I would recommend her highly to anyone who has doubts about alternative medicine enhancing a woman's chance of fertility. For almost two years my husband I tried to conceive our first child. Being in our mid-twenties, we were not expecting to have any problems. We spent the first year trying "naturally", thinking that my body needed time to adjust to not receiving birth control pills. Ten months later, we will still didn't have any success, so we started to see an infertility specialist - who determined I was not able to ovulate. After several months of treatment nothing seemed to work. Both my husband and I were sick with the amount of hormone shots that were being injected into my body on a regular basis. During this time we had heard from many of our friends, stories about other couples conceiving from the use of acupuncture. My first though, "Acupuncture, really? How will being poked with needles help me get pregnant?!" But, out of sheer frustration and desperation, we gave it a go. Which is how I met Debbie at Sage Wellness. And I am so happy I did!

I started seeing Debbie in June of 2008. From my first meeting with Debbie, I felt comfortable right away. She spent a lot of time with me to discuss and understand my symptoms, past treatments, and my feelings. She put me put on a diet to cut out dairy and sugar due to my "dampness", tracked my Basel body temperature, and prescribed herbs for me to take every morning (and she'll even admit, they taste terrible! J). In addition, we meet on a weekly basis for over a month to receive my acupuncture treatments. On August 20 I found out I was pregnant, four weeks pregnant!

My first and only round of acupuncture with Debbie was a success! Today I am 15 weeks and feeling great! I had my doubts, but I'll never doubt again!

Deborah Valentin has been my acupuncturist for the last three years and I have much to say about her. I was going to see her for many health issues that I wanted to work on. I was going through a tough time at work and had insomnia and anxiety which was getting worse. It was beginning to affect my relationship as well as my job. Through treatments with Deborah, I began to feel much more balanced and I was able to deal with stress around me, along with that I was able to finally sleep peacefully. She also had me really change my diet to a healthier one-cutting out the sweets and coffee that I consumed on a daily basis. I now am much more aware of how to deal with my stress in a really healthy way which I could not do without her help. Deborah is an amazing acupuncturist in New York City; she is extremely personal and very thorough. DG

If you are looking for an acupuncturist to help with your fertility, I whole heartedly say go to Deborah Valentin. My husband and I tried for 3 years to get pregnant. We were diagnosed with "unexplained infertility". I can't tell you how frustrated and stressed out we were. A friend told us about Deborah and I immediately scheduled an appointment. I felt very relaxed around her which was a blessing with all the doctors I went to. She was thorough and explained to me the process of treatments and diagnosis in Chinese Medicine. I finally was at least getting an answer. After four months of treatments we got pregnant! I owe it all to Deborah. I can't tell you how happy we are, we now go to Deborah for most of our medical needs. She is amazing.

I was extremely nervous prior to my first session of acupuncture, Deborah immediately put me at ease with her warm and exceptionally professional manner.
I saw immediate improvements in my health and she gave me a clearer understanding of the internal workings of my body in a way I had not previously thought about.

I highly recommend Deborah Valentin's services. I had one failed IVF and was looking to help get pregnant with the next one. I was referred to Deborah by my friend who had very good things to say about her. She is extremely supportive and really helped my anxiety and insomnia as well. I had my IVF transfer and it was successful. I am six months pregnant and feel that Deborah was a major factor in me getting pregnant.

I came to seek out treatments from Deb Valentin about six months ago. I had never had acupuncture before. I must admitt I had a whole host of things to work on. I first came with my digestive system issues but also had tons of stress in my life that was causing me a lot of anxiety. My doctor recommended acupuncture to me believe it or not! I have had such good results with the acupuncture and my stress levels and anxiety have really reduced since I have seen Deb. I feel much more balanced and I have not felt like this in a long time. I really like the holistic approach and Deb is wonderful!

Hello, I am very happy to write a review letting others know about Deb Valentin. She has helped me tremendously with anxiety I was suffering. I had just moved to the city and was pretty overwhelmed with everything. I did not want to go on any medication and so I tried Chinese Medicine. Deb was such a joy to see every week because she helped me with her acupuncture treatments and the herbs. She also had her given me great inspiration and guidance through that time. Debbie Valentin is one of the best physicians I have seen. She has a natural instinct and gift for pinpointing problems and is effective at treating your pains and problems. I have received several acupuncture treatments from Debbie for various problems (anxiety, chest pains, sciatica, headaches) with great results! I was very wary of acupuncture, but Debbie has completely changed my view of alternative medicine.

As a physician, Debbie is is patient and takes the time to listen and understand your physical complaints. She also takes the time to explain in detail what is wrong and what treatments she will use. Her knowledge about herbs and eastern medicine is incredible. I very highly recommend Debbie Valentin.

In addition to having a thorough knowledge of Western medicine and extensive training in and knowledge of Chinese medicine, Deb Valentin possesses a remarkable intuitive sense about the body. She was able to help me articulate some of the symptoms I was having even better than I was and between acupuncture and Chinese herbs we worked together and fixed it - not just made things more manageable, we cured it after years of issues. Deb's the real thing. I highly recommend this woman: she is not simply good at what she does, she's extraordinary at it.

I cannot say enough about Deborah Valentin and her acupuncture treatments. I started going to Deborah about 2 years ago for my back pain, and I don't think I will ever stop the treatments. She is completely dedicated to working with me to alleviate my back pain. Her practice is wholistic- focusing on all aspects of living a healthy life- from pain management to exercise and diet recommendations. I have been a patient of Deborah Valentin's for about six months. I first came to Deborah to see how acupuncture treats migraines which I experienced every week. Okay, I was first really scared of the needles but I must say they didn't hurt and I felt so relaxed after the treatments. I took the herbs she prescribed as well as had acupuncture on a weekly basis. Amazingly after years of suffering from migraines they have gone away. I get them every now and again but nothing compared to before treatment with Deborah. I now go to Deborah for most of my ailments and she has been a great practitioner and a great resource if I need outside care. I recommend her highly.

Deborah Valentin has been a true asset to my health. I came to her for back pain that I suffered with for four years after I had a bad fall. I tried physical therapy and chiropractic care but nothing helped my situation. Under Deborah Valentin's care, she treated my condition with utmost care. I took chinese herbs and did weekly acupuncture treatments. The combination of both have healed my back and I am extremely thankful to her. I came to Deborah Valentin a year ago for menstrual pain and PMS. I was diagnosed with endometriosis and had a laparoscopy which helped my condition but then the pain came back. I desperately wanted a natural treatment for my condition which began to rule my life. I came to Deborah based on a doctor's recommendation. Deborah explained to me my condition and how acupuncture and herbal medicine work in treating endometriosis. She gave me full attention and always answered my questions. She was extremely compassionate and her treatments were amazing. She truly is a healer and her treatments have made such a difference in my menstrual cramps as well as my pms (just ask my husband)! I sought the help Ms Valentin with chronic back problems and sciatica, and I received treatment for several months.

I can only say the best about her approach to healing and about her technique. During the course of my treatment I received acupuncture, healing massage and practical advice to healing. The treatments made a significant difference and enabled me to continue working and living as normal, which was a tremendous improvement. Both the acupuncture treatments and the massages were the best I have ever received. Her focus on me as a patient was undiverted. She truly is interested in the well-being of her patients.

I would like to point out that as a professional offering holistic treatment, Ms Valentin also gave me practical advice on 'Western medicine' alternatives about my condition. Sadly, 'Western doctors' would rarely inform patients about all alternatives (especially when promising and well proven treatment alternatives would include Eastern Medicine) but Ms Valentin's openness allowed me to combine Eastern and Western medicine treatments and as a result I am fully healed today and I live a happy life of no pain! This would not have been possible without Ms Valentin and for this I will forever be grateful.

I can?t say enough excellent things about Sage Wellness and Ms. Valentin. I have been a patient of Ms. Valentin for approximately 2 years for fertility issues. In today?s society where you are waiting for hours to see a doctor, and then once you seem them you are rushed out the door. I couldn?t believe Ms.Valentin actually answers her own phone, as well as always being available to answer questions. If not available she calls me back that same day. Ms. Valentin not only helped me with my ovulation issues, she also gave me good advice on diet and exercise that would complement the Western and Chinese medicine I am currently undergoing. From the time I enter the door till I leave I am Ms. Valentin is a professional and friendly. Anybody who is trying to get pregnant, or doing IVF, as I will do soon Ms. Valentin offers excellent service.

there are not enough great things i can say about deb. i have been a patient for about 2 years and suffer from severe women's and digestive issues. though i've had to drink some not-so-tasty herbs, i can honestly say that the treatments have helped my issues greatly, and i am a healthier person today. deb is extremely personable and genuinely interested in her patients' well-being, and makes herself available even when she's not in the office (how many people can say that about their doctor?). the hour i spend each week in acupuncture is something i always look forward to not only because i feel better physcially, but because deb is more than just a practitioner, she's also a friend. i have recommended her to a number of friends, all of whom have thanked me for passing along her information.
