CVPH is a joke of a hospital, on two occasions we were forced to wait for hours because the doctors and nurses were lazy and didnt want to do there job. On one occasion the doctor even said to me "I didn't even think you were sick" when I left with two prescriptions. While I was sitting there in pain 4 or 5 nurses and the doctor were joking around eating pizza, while they have me sitting on a bed in the hall where I can see them pick up and put my chart down over and over. They will make you wait if they think you "aren't" sick, do they really think we would be in there if we really didnt have to be? Also waiting for 3 hours after seeing the doctor to be discharged because the nurse was to lazy to walk the discharge papers into the room, and when I went and asked what was taking so long the nurse says "yup his papers are right here, you need to give me a few minutes" only to find out they never called the pharmacy for the meds that were needed, which was another hour wait. Something needs to be done about the staff and the way patients are treated. They are lazy, rude and act as if they are better than anyone who walks through the doors. I will not be returning unless forced to.

Next time someone in my family has an issue I am going to drive them to burlington. My wife and I took our son in the emergency room after he was not acting right and runing a slight fever and his eyes were very bright red around the outside. He also had not slept or ate for aprox 32 hours. after being reviewed by a few nurses one of them said that we were not saying anything to convience her that something was wrong. After waiting 3 hours and not even checked up on we decided to leave and let him suffer at home rather than in that emergency room. When we were leaveing the front desk staff wanted to see if we were even close to being seen we were not. Next day we went to his doctor and it turns out he has ear infections in both ears and pink eye in both eyes. The poor little guy should not have suffered this extra day. 10 min with a doctor that knew what he was doing would have had us on our way home and geting our son the treatment he needed. In my opinion our case could have been streamlined and we have been in and out in the matter of an hour.

Are you kidding me?? The ER at CVPH is the absolute WORST place that you can go. Oh you'd be fine for a Fast Track visit, but if you have something more serious and need to be on the ER side, you might as well give up. I'm a nursing student and I did a rotation through there and you should hear some of the things they say about patients! They call them "welfares" "leeches" and "wastes of time." If you do not have any insurance, they will make you wait so long that eventually you give up and go home. I watched 4 nurses and a doctor sit around and laugh it up about hockey while a poor woman was moaning and crying in pain. They hadn't even gone into see her yet and she'd been in the room for over a half an hour. I also saw them give the wrong meds to the wrong patient because they were in a curtained room next to one another and they got mixed up.
It's a very sad place to go. It's hard to believe that our small town with the gorgeous views has a worse hospital than the inner cities.

I have to give this poor excuse for a hospital one star because it won't let me give them a zero.

For a small emergency, this is the place to go to. You will not wait as long as you may have to in the hospital and the nurses and doctors are so friendly and nice. When my daughter had a recent ear infection we were very happy to walk-in and walk-out in less than an hour with her medication. We will definitely come back here for our small emergencies !

This is next to the Emergency room at CVPH. It is if your injury is not Live threating, they sent you over there for faster service. Usually a little wait; but not to long. And very friendly and concerned Doctors and Nurses take care of all your needs!
