Best diner around that area with other choices either fast food or health bars. Good service, prices, and quality food.
4I've been to this place several times with my sister and niece because it's down the block from their apartment. The food is your standard diner fare but the service and people really stand out. They are so friendly and accomodating!
4Gee Whiz is a true neighborhood diner. They really make you feel at home there. The staff know the names of the regulars. The food is good and the portions are generous. The prices have increased but aren't outrageous. Its a nice place to hang out with friends and enjoy a good meal.

Mel and I each ordered a BLT, his on whole wheat, mine on rye. Plenty crisp B, lotsa L and thick, ripe T made for darn good sandwiches. Worth every penny.
We each ordered potato salad and received generous (heaping, really) servings. I tasted mine: Hmmm . . . bland. Salt and pepper helped but the concoction could've used a little zip - mustard, pickle, dill . . . something. Mel pronounced his dry, starchy, heavy. "Okay," he said, "if you're hungry." He left half uneaten. Although neither of us found anthing particularly wrong with this salad - everything was fresh - we didn't find anything spectacular, either. If I go back I'll order something else.
Gee Whiz Restaurant is an American diner. We didn't find anything Greek about the place. If any national quisine is preponderant on the menu it's Italian.
The crowd was mixed: families, business types, singles. The service was prompt and attentive buy nobody hovered our table.

Pros: Clean. Lively.
Cons: I think they're none too proud of their spud salad.
