I have been using this cleaner for 4 years because their location is very convenient. But no more. Over the past few years, they have lost about 20 socks. The owner blamed us and told us to get mesh bags which we did, but then they lost

I was googling for this store's phone numbers when I stumbled upon this negative comments. I just wanted to defend my neighborhood cleaners by saying that I've never had any problems with suit tailoring or pant hemming. My dress shirt collars are always crisp and I've never had a problem with damaged goods. (nor have any of my friends and coworkers who I've recommended to this establishment)

They're English is kind of rough, but I've known Sung and Joo Kim over the years ever since the store was known as "Lexus Cleaners" and they have been nothing but incredibly accomodating and understanding of my dry cleaning needs. As long as you're deliberate with your speech and demonstrate what you need done, they will understand 100%.

if there are any cons of the actual dry cleaning it would be the 2% of the time that the laundry/dry cleaning was not finished on time.

Pros: expert tailoring and pressing

Cons: owner's english is a little rough

Too many pricing mistakes. This owner has overcharged me so many times because I pay attention to my bills. He has pulled cash out of his register to reimburse me for the overcharge each time I brought it to his attention.

I will never ever step foot in this establishment again.

I have had couple incidents with this dry cleaning place and have VOWED NEVER TO use this place again.

1) I dropped off a sweater for dry cleaning, then when I went to pick it up on the day it was promised, the guy who owns the store flatly told me that "someone" had picked up my dry cleaning. When I informed him I was the only one who lived in Manhattan, and none of my family/friends knew that I used this dry cleaner, he shrugged, and was about to move on like nothing had happened. The friend I was with later commented on how calm he seemed about the whole situation, even though he had just lost my sweater!!! He finally looked at the wheel again, after my repeated request, and found my sweater wrongly labeled. He did not apologize once throughout this whole incident.

2) I had brought this high end korean designer jacket for dry cleaning, and the owner refused to dry clean it because he said "it wasn't St. John" and the buttons would fall off. (He just assumed so because the jacket had a korean label, ironically, he is korean.) So instead of learning my lesson, and never going back to the place, I brought my mom's st. john jacket when she asked me to dry clean it because well, I figured the place would be really good at dry cleaning st. john. When I picked up the jacket, 4 buttons out of 9 buttons were gone. When my mom called the place to ask what happened, the owner (the same guy), proceeded to 1) accuse my mom of possessing a fake jacket, 2) then telling my mom to go to st. john to pick up buttons and 3) threatening to report my mom (to what an imaginary bureau?) for disrupting business all because my mom asked nicely for explanation or apology. He did not apologize once again during this whole ordeal, and my mom is now really upset for having had to deal with this unpleasant character.

I assume full responsibility for my stupidity for giving this place another chance after sweater fiasco. But this is ridiculous.

I sent 4 pcs for drycleaning.
2 jackets, 2 skirts and my bill came to $53.22 and it wasn't a mistake!
There are better cleaners in the 3 block area, please research!

I've used them for a couple of years, and I have tried another shop in the area before trying Midway, but left because the collars of my shirts were not crisply pressed. The work they've done hemming new suit pants has been fine, and they've done numerous corrective work with clothing, e.g., new zippers, repairs due to wear, all of which we have been happy with. Laundry is almost always returned the same day, provided its dropped off early enough, although dry cleaning delivery is at times iffy, although some errors are due to the forgetfulness of our doormen. Overall, I've been happy with them.

I recently went to this establishment to get a dress hemmed. They are incredibly rude and unprofessional. I picked up the dress right before closing and when I got home I tried it on, I saw they altered my dress incorrectly and left the back unhemmed.

When I returned the very next morning and explained that they did not do the job requested of them, they refused to fix it unless I paid them again. I would have had to pay double the price for them to hem the dress as originally asked. They also do not speak good english and may not understand exactly what type of alteration you want done. I was never treated so rudely by an establishment and would never recommend Midway Cleaners for alterations.
