When you walk in, you are greeted with most welcome smiles. You proceed into a room where all the magic happens and If you are a workaholic [like myself] this is where you should go to relax and have all your worries alleviated. Afterwards there are delightful assorted foods to enjoy right outside your room. There should be a Mamie's on every block, but there's only one Mamie That is something that needs to be taken advantage of!

But as a self professed fashion and beauty junkie who loves being on the inside track of those hidden gems, I have tried every luxe product and celeb facialist and I can honestly say that discovering Mamie has been nothing short of fantastic. She works magic on my skin, gives great advice, never gives "the hard sell" for products and has a surprisingly reasonable price point. Mamie truly has your back and only wants you to look and feel your best. A great location and pleasant, professional staff doesn't hurt either. I have been "out of town" too long, and was welcomed back with the most amazing face revitalization! - I am ten years younger today than yesterday, and since I am having a series of "non surgical face lifts" I imagine my skin will look "tweenish" by the time Mamie is done with me. Fabulous!

I have been going to Mamie for over 12 years and it is my business to know who the best is and Its Mamie. Before going to Mamie I never thought I would hear the words "You have such beautiful skin" uttered to me. Now from hairstylists, to make-up artists, from beauty consultants in department stores to even my own dermatologist...the compliments on my skin are endless. Mamie is the only one I trust to touch my skin and as loong as Maimie is doing what she loves nobody ever will. And the new non surgical facelift that she is doing works mircles!! She is and 11 in my book

As a true Mamie McDonald devotee, I'll admit my experience with other estheticians is rather limited since I virtually go no where else. Mamie has, without a doubt, seen my skin (and me!) through some of life's most stressful episodes. Back when I faced my skin at its worst, Mamie won me over with her skilled assessment and treatment plan. She warmed my heart with caring words and made me believe that my skin would get better and, of course, Mamie saw to it that it did. Funny, it's been about 15 years now and, with divorce and adult acne behind me, she still keeps my skin check when other life challenges begin to show on my face. A session under the watchful eyes and loving hands of Mamie McDonald is truly amazing. I trust my skin to no one else!

I've been going to Mamie's for almost 20 years and have been consistently pleased with the results. Her treatments are personal depending upon your needs. A very caring and warm atmosphere. I recommend it highly.

I've been Mamie's client for the past five years. I not only consider her my aesthetician but a friend. She is an expert at her craft and gives excellent customized facials.

The thing that impressed me early on with my experience at Mamie's was her willingness to take the time to get to know me as a customer. I have several skin ailments including eczema and extremely sensitive skin. Although at first I was nervous, I knew that at the end of the visit it was unwarranted.

Within minutes, Mamie told me everything I liked to eat and gave me suggestions on how to improve the quality of my skin. Five years later, people ask me if I wear makeup and what do i do to my skin.

My visits to Mamie's have given me a new sense of self esteem. I've learned to care for my skin as a woman and to appreciate my beauty.

I have been going to Mamie for years, she is hands down the best facialist have ever been to. I fly especially to New York to see her from Los Angeles. My skin has never looked or felt so good. Living in Los Angels where the air quality is so bad and full of smog I know she's going to give my skin the best individual treatment I require. I can't thank her enough for my glowing skin

i have had facials many times
over the years before i met mamie
and they were always painful and left me red and blotchy
i was rather phobic
then mamie gave me a facial
it was lovely and soothing
and i actually fell asleep during it, like a massage
my skin, afterwards, was radiant, no red blotches
just smooth and younger looking
now i look forward to a visit to mamie

plus the woman is just so funny and interesting
keeps me laughing
when im not snoring

I have followed Mamie and her offices around town nearly for 20 years. She is the only place I go to and so worthwhile the visit. She knows what she is doing and talking about, she has the expertise and experience and also adds a great sense of humor.

I came to Mamie with bad breakout, and oily skin. She taught me how to take better care of my skin so that I can reduce the redness, breakout, and pain I have.
I had a facial with her a few times now and my skin is noticeably different. The patience, and effort Mamie gave to me was remarkable.

Once Mamie puts her hands on your face you are in for a treat. She makes sure your skin gets what it needs and you look your best when you leave. Mamie is worth the investment. She does not push products and makes you feel comfortable in her homey spa. Light refreshments are usually available. Mamie always discusses the importance of diet and how it affects the skin. Mamie and her staff are very personable. It is a wonderful experience...believe me!

I have been getting facials for about 20 years now, and had always gone to places that are supposedly "experts" in giving them; but since discovering Mamie about 4 years ago or so, I have never gone anywhere else. Mamie is by far the best facialist (hope that's a word) I have ever had. She takes time with you and studies your skin in order to determine the best procedure (i.e. microdermabrasion, oxygen etc). Every time I go there, I leave with me skin looking incredible immediately. And over the years her treatments and product recommendations have made my skin improve. It really is quite remarkable.

I am with Mamie almost 4 years now and was never dissapointed with the service. She is my first aesthetician in New York I was recommended to. From the first treatment I have got I knew I would come back. Mamies skin center is the place where you get the whole package - pleasant personal, nice calm environment, super facials, skills, skin problem solving The treatment is never rushed. Mamie always gives as much time to your face as it needs. If you have any change with your skin condition, Mamie can "discover" it very easily and follows with proper treatment. I love every special treatment she gives - microdermabrasion, IPL or Oxygen. Love the masks and massages. You just have to come. Amost every time I asleep during a facial - it is so relaxing. I always look better when I leave her salon.I would have those facials every week. I strongly agree with all other reviews here.

Mamie's is the creme-de-la-creme of skin care!!!! I was recommended to Mamie's over three years ago by my dermatologist when I began to suffer from adult acne and for some reason she could not find a cure. Unfortunately for my dermatologist, I have not been back since. Well, needless to say Mamie and I have been riding shotgun ever since. I have been going to Mamies faithfully every month for over the last three years. My skin has never looked so radiant! I have tried so many so-called high end spas, including Bliss, Red Door, the Mandarin, etc. just to name a few. None of them can even began to compare. Mamie is a true professional who knows her profession. From the moment you walk in the door and meet Ms. McDonald you feel a sense of comfort. Her skin is absolutely flawless!!! Once your on her table you feel as though you have died and gone to heaven!!! From her Microdermabrsion to her Oxygen treatments to her mini massages, it's never disappointment. You look forward to your next appointment before you even walk out the door. I always book my appointment's 6 months in advance for 6 months just to make sure I can get in. Another plus is that her staff is always pleasant and just as professional as Ms. McDonald. I'm just sold. Know one elses touches my skin, but Ms. McDonald and her staff. I even have my husband hooked. Just when I thought this was my own little personal escape, I decided to treat him one day and he has been addicted ever since. So I guess we can say Mamie has a little something the men and women. I could go on and on about how wonderful Mamie's skin care center is but why bother. I just recommend that any and everyone try the EXPERIENCE for themselves!!!!! You won't be disappointed.

I'm in my late 20s and have suffered from acne since I was 11, and the only thing that has kept my skin clear for the past 3 years has been my monthly facial by Mamie. After years of all kinds of topical and oral medication -- even Proactiv-- the facials are the only thing that bring my skin relief. Anyone who suffers from bad acne knows it wreaks havoc not only on your skin but self-esteem as well, so to have found something that finally delivers results is great. Mamie is very knowledgeable and a cool person to talk to as well. I have no cons because I've had only good experiences with her.

Definitely visit her even if you don't suffer from acne-- it never hurts to get a facial!

Mamie and Kym have been treating my skin for four years now. I spent a lot of time in the sun and burned my skin on numerous occasions. Consequently, I have had six skin cancer operations on my face and several other skin cancer operations on my chest, back and arms. Mamie has an incredible ability to "see" the skin cancer before my dermatologist does! On several occasions she encouraged me to see my doctor, only for me to learn Mamie had detected the skin cancer just as it was beginning to show on my face. She and Kym are true professionals and there is no one else I will trust to work on me.

Seriously, I have been telling all my friends and anyone that will listen, "run...don't even walk... to Mamie's Skin Care Clinic". I hardly ever write recommendations but I honestly want to let the world know about the best kept secret....I have been going to Mamie's now at least once a month for the past 4 months and it is INCREDIBLE to see the progress! As a 30-something professional, woman of color, I have spent a ridicuolous amount of time and money to find a skincare professional and regimen that will keep me blemish-free without scarring, harsh treatments. I am so happy that I've FINALLY found the truth! I felt like I was home from the first time I walked into what felt like my favorite, rich aunt's house. The atmosphere is very comfortable, soothing and impressive as pictures of clear, smiling celebrity faces sit on display like family. Mamie came outand greeted me with such warmth...and a hug! I knew was in good hands. I told her my goal was to be make-up free by summer and she confidently relpied that she could get me there. I didn't believe her with just 4 months to go until sweltering heat that melts off even the most water-proof foundation, but I'm happy to say I have arrived! I love the way she approaches skincare care INDIVIDUALLY, she always adjusts my treatment to give me just what I need so I walk out glowing WITHOUT MAKE-UP!!! I've been using the line she retails for at-home maintanence and LOVE the quaity and effectiveness. I really can't rave enough....it's rare that you find someone who's craft AND character exceeds expectations. MAMIE TRULY WORKS MAGIC ON SKIN!

I found Mamie's through a Vogue article years ago and have been a loyal fan ever since. I have had many facials in my life - but none like this. The others would leave my face red and blotchy or I would find myself breaking out the next day. Not with Mamie. This woman simply knows skin. She knows my skin and she will know your skin. You don't have to know what to ask for, she'll do what your face needs.

The vibe is so relaxed - it's like I'm getting a facial in my best friends apartment. The quality of products she uses are impeccable and while I've become hooked on a few of them - Mamie never pressures you to buy anything - which I greatly appreciate. I've had some skin issues in my adult life and had to use a number of drying harsh products from my dermatologist. I see Mamie a few times a year, consistently, and I don't put any prescription products on my skin anymore. People always compliment my skin, it's clear and glowing and youthful. I tell them it's Mamie's doing.

Her praises simply can not be sung loudly enough. All hail Mamie!

What a pleasure to come to Mamie. She has an amazing personality that you are comfortable with her in moments. She rejuvenates your skin, and your mind.. and you feel completely peaceful while relaxing during your facials or any skin treatments. I have been to many spas - all over the world. However, I have never let anyone touch my face other than Mamie and co.! The first time I walked in, I felt like I had been there many times before. I found out about Mamie's Skin Care Center while reading an issue of Vogue several years ago and immediately called in. Now, I am notorious for booking appointments 6 months in advance. Once I was in rotation, I feared loosing this prime space in Mamie's book!!!! After I am comfortable and in my "facial zone" on those, "I wish this were my bed at home" spa recliners, I drift off and feel as if I am having a facial in my own home. The hospitality is so alluring with the ever present beverages that are fresh and always at the right temperature and the always on time refreshments. You never know who you will run into at Mamie's Skin Care Center, because Mamie and co. treats all of their clientelle so amazing and so inclusive that you forget you are rubbing elbows with last months Elle covergirl :) Plus, it is always a good sign to have the person working on your face, to have the skin of a goddess. All hail to Mamie! .................and that pretty-sweet Kim!

Thank you Lord!!! This place is heaven. From the moment I walked in the door I felt like I was on a cloud, and I had the best facial OF MY LIFE. If they told me I could sleep there, I just might of whipped out a sleeping bag. I had the microdermabrasion and oxygen facial. At first I was hesitant because I heard from friends that microderm can be painful, but it was anything but painful. (Truth be told, if I knew my skin was going to look this good, I wouldn't have minded the pain anyway- haha). The treatment finished off with a mask and an insanely good arm massage from a therapist name Kym. I think I may have to book an hour massage next time because well, it is only fair to the other half of my body...yeah that justifies it! I left G-L-O-W-I-N-G!

I found Mamie's randomnly and thank goodness I did. I have never been happier with my skin in one treatment, than I was when I left Mamie's Skin Care. I had the most wonderful cleansing done to my face. It felt so relaxing to lay there and have someone ( Kym) with so much knowledge and experience to touch my skin and make it feel beautiful. She used all of these different creams and cleansers to open up more pores and let them breathe. She massaged my face, temples, head, neck and back area. I nearly melted into the table. The room was a perfect temperature so I was never too hot or too cold. The treatment she gave me seemed to last forever, and that was just perfect. I wish I could have stayed longer. After Kym was finished with cleansing and massaging me, I had the pleasure of Mamie treating me as well. I had an oxygen facial, as well as microdermabrasion. I had every part of my face taken care of so that it was soft, smooth, and I looked my best. These two women as well as the woman at the front desk were so loving and sweet. They did everything to make me feel comfortable, and as if I had known them for years. I cannot wait to go back in a few weeks to follow up on my treatment and do another massage with Kym. Simply the best treatment I have had in a very long time. If you want to get away, and feel private in your surroundings...this is the place. These are the people. This is like going on vacation without leaving the city. I reccommend all tourists try this place out.
