Very nice spa, have been there once and it was great. Had a deep tissue massage and it was exactly what I needed and expected. Would go back.

This is not the economy for a luxurious spa, and I have never had the salary for one, but let me say how much I have enjoyed my few massages/manicures/pedicures/foot reflexology treatments here. The environment is laid back and the techs know their stuff. And truly, their Blood Orange and White Pepper scented creams and scrubs are the best-smelling things on the planet. Just ordered some for every woman in my family for the holidays.

From check-in to check-out, this was my worst spa experience ever. The staff at the front counter are unreceptive. I had to flag an employee down to check-in and was given a pair of flip-flops that were too large for me to walk in. It took 10 min. for the front desk to find another pair causing me to be late for my appt. I had to skip my facial due to being late and I had an average-at-best salt scrub...which could only be 20 minutes due to being behind schedule. But the real shocker was when I found out that I had to pay full price for the facial I never got and a useless salt scrub (could have been more effective had I done it myself in the shower)! The experience was stressful, not to mention the relentless pushing of products. I will not go back again.

Pros: Closing in Spring '04

Cons: , Product-Pushers, Useless Staff

I went to Away yesterday for my birthday - the Javanese Lulur was amazing! You truly feel like a pampered princess - the Balinese massage was heaven, the oils, scrubs, and lotions smelled divine, the massage therapist even adjusted the water temperature of the shower perfectly. When the treatment is finished, there is a path of rose petals leading you to the door. I have been to many many spas, but this treatment is simply the best experience I'd ever had!

Pros: Relaxing Atmosphere, Prompt but not rushed, Tea Bar

.

The Away Spa is the perfect place to forget about life and just indulge in a day of relaxation. Even before the treatments begin it's hard not to relax while awaiting your therapist at the Asian styled Tea Bar on comfortable sofas & chairs. The spa offers an array of Eastern themed treatments that are worth a try. My personal recommondation is the Signature Javanese Lular Treatment....I had experienced this treatment in a spa in California and was unable to find a NY spa that provided a treament that could compare. This massage & body treatment is well worth the $ and will leave you feeling like a pampered princess!!

Pros: Reasonably priced, Very Relaxing, Great Service

The massages are great. Sure, very relaxing BUT what makes this place special is the environment around you. The tea, the music, the seats . . . wonderful. Keeps you relaxed - until you go down to the bar downstairs.

Everytime I've gotten a massage there, the therapists always listen to me and concentrate on specific areas with just the right amount of pressure. The facilities are clean, and the staff is helpful.

The services are gret, but I don't like the little hotel rooms with windows out to the street.
