Pros: GOOD SALSA MUSIC

Cons: SMALL TABLES

I've had some good food at Grand Central before, but Zocalo did not turn out to be the best of choices. Both the chimichanga and the fish in the fish tacos came out soggy, not at all crispy. What's the use of deep frying something if it's not going to come out crispy!? The bl00d orange frozen margaritas were OK, but they definitely had that "Coney Island, from a mix" taste. The salsa that came with the chips was very good. $16 for a chimichanga and $11 for a drink at what looks like a mall Mexican restaurant anywhere in middle America is just not acceptable.

I stopped in with some clients from out of town last Friday. The margaritas were great. I ordered the Quesadilla de Bistec. Great price and very good and filling. I would recommend this to anyone and we plan to be back on our next trip.

THE DRINKS ARE GOOD, SERVICE OK. PRICES I WOULD SAY ON THE HIGH LEVEL. TACOS ARE NOT GOOD, TORTILLAS ARE ALWAYS COLD, AND THAT MAKES A BAD TACO....POOR MANAGEMENT, AND TO TOP IT ALL OFF NOT VERY CLEAN. I AM JUST NOT CRAZY ABOUT IT.

Wow...the was the first thing I said when I tasted Zocalos chimichangas. The mojitos are also good here and so are the Margaritas. I dont like the fact that they close so early; if you want to keep the party going I recomend MiAbuelita restaurant...they have iced cold beers and the food is also good.

Just had lunch, fish tacos were flavorless and soggy. Tortillas were stuck to the plate so I'd guess the whole mess was just microwaved. Avoid.

this place is perfect to stop by after work and heading to the train. order the guacamole, its delicious, as are the corn chips and salsa. the house margharita is the best one, and happy hour makes it all very reasonably priced.

I was a little hungry and seeing the crowd at Zocalo, decided to join them. I tried the carne asada tacos. The taco itself was not really a taco that was rolled up per se, but a limp, moist bowl-like preformed tortilla that held perfectly sqaure shaped cubes of mystery meat. The meat itself was overcooked and masked in a greasy sauce that rendered it virtually inedible. The taco came with a few sauces that did little to help. The meal came with black beans that were pretty low quality, and I also ordered chips and salsa. The salsa was decent but not memorable and the chips seemed a bit overdone. I will not return here.

Everything across the board is delicious; hands down the best tamales in NYC. I spent 14 years on the border - this is the real deal.
