Not impressed whatsoever. I really wanted to like this place. It wasn't bad, but I'd rather order some chinese food instead...

We love this place- it's always good place to go- it's never crowded so you can bring groups or just go in for a quick bite. It's tasty and never breaks the bank!

I moved to 4th street about a month ago to find myself living next to this place called jeollado. I saw the sign for a $6.95 bento box and I was in the door.

Chicken Terriyaki, gyoza, rice, miso soup, salad and a california roll for $6.95. Absolutely delicious.

I go there about twice a week now.

The sushi is pretty good. Relatively cheap, for example for $5 for the jeollado roll (avocado - salmon outside, crab in)

Awesome atmosphere, good music, highly recommended!

I've been to many Asian restaurants like these with an extensive menu where they try to cramp in too much into one menu, please all palates. Jeollado has a nice balance of Japanese sushi and sashimi, Koresan favorites and then a hybrid of new rolls they created. Everyone will be please with their selection here. They also give you A LOT of food so you won't leave hungry. I have been coming here for about 8 years or so and never get sick of it. The bill is always reasonable.

some of the best sushi I've eaten in NYC! I ordered a sushi combination lunch special, which was just the right portion and price. my friends ordered a Smoked Salmon Roll , Sweet Shrimp and a few other types of sushi. everything I tried tasted very fresh and light, leaving me full but refreshed rather than stuffed. I can't wait to eat here again!

Off the busy streets of St. marks I found this cozy japanese-korean fusion restaurant where the word excellence is written all over it.
The decor goes hand in hand of this charming location which creates an inviting mood but funky at the same time. I loved the most interesting and fun artworks on the walls all around the restaurant and the open ceiling to wall doors that are left completely open in the summer season.
The menu is by far the most extensive and diverse. It's not your typical japanese restaurant. From the quality of their sushi to the perfection of the shrimp tempuras, you won't regret the money or the time you spend at jeollado.

With pretty good impression at my first time visiting, I went this restaurant last week. Again, it was great. The staff was helpful & kindful. Their food was delicious. Especially, I recommend 'spicy tuna roll' and 'pan-fried Kimchi' Since I don't like sushi or roll very much, I haven't ordered that kind of dishes.
But!! their spicy tuna roll was amazing. It's promptly hot, juicy, and sweet. I just wonder which seasoning they use. I never had such a tasty spicy tuna roll.
Also, their 'pan-fried Kimchi" was really good too. I don't like the smell of pork, but I could enjoy the dish because they used beef instead of pork, which traditionally use for the dish. Tofu in the dish was incredibly soft and greatly matched for spicy taste of Kimchi.
Another cool point is a spacious party & karaoke room. With nice animation painting wall, you would enjoy their projection screen and diverse songs.
If you want to have delicious rolls & sushi with cheap price or if you want to have an unforgattable private party, I stronly recommend this restaurant.

One of my friend recommended this place, so I checked it out last weekend with some of my friends. And what can I say, it was great. The food was real good(cheap too), the service was excellent(mostly waitresses and like one waiter, but they were all friendly and nice), and the owner seemed like a really nice guy. I usually avoid going to a fusion restaurant as the food is usually not as good as the authentic ones that specialize in one type of food. However, this Japanese-Korean restaurant was by far the best fusion restaurant I've ever been to. All in all, if you want to eat both Japanese and Korean food, then I highly recommend this place.

I had my birthday party here last night and it was a blast! The staff was very accomdating and helpful. I originally booked the room from 9-12 then called and asked for the room to be extended to 1am, which they said was fine. When I called to confirm the night before, they told me they closed at midnight (?!). When I expressed my disappointment with this last minute notice (and I only found out because I called THEM) they agreed to stay open for the extra hour just for me, as long as they could close the kitchen. I feel they redeemed themselves and showed great customer service.

PROS: Great food, cheap, large party room (easily had 40 people), easy to use karaoke, friendly staff, can come early to decorate, very clean

CONS: NO separate bills which makes for a very uncomfortable announcement as people come and go to give 'what they think they owe" , not that large of a song selection.

All in all, I highly recommend the party room for an unforgettable time!

this past weekend i took my friends to jeollado (our best new discovery as of yet downtown.) upon entering the restaurant, we were not forced to wait and were seated promptly. the cartoon style artwork, video art played by the projection and the longevity of the restaurant, creates a casually cool, trendy, and modern atmosphere. the service is excellent- the wait staff is very attentive and the owner is a pretty cool guy. for dinner, we ordered the house rolls off the menu and asked the owner for his own recommendations, at which he continuously sent out both innovative korean and japanese fusion dishes. Absolutely Delicious and Ridiculously Cheap! My favorite part of the night was when we were used into the karaoke/ party room in the back. Dimly light by a hanging disco ball and tiny lights circumnavigating a pole, and greeted by large anime characters painted upon the wall, the karaoke room boasts over 2,000 songs!! i was surprised to find old time favorites by stevie wonder and cher interspersed with my favorite pop artists beyonce and britney spears! the staff once again was very attentive, quick to supply us with drinks as we made a fool of ourselves belting out to madonna's "material girl." i was told that just last month, penelope cruz and her entourage graced the karaoke/party room herself (pretty awesome!) overall my experience was a two thumbs up! i cant wait for next weekend to relive this experience all over again.

I have been comming here for a while ever since the old sandobe on 11th closed down. The price is still good for the wallet but i have to say that the quality & the taste has reached rock botttom. Service has gone better but i think "Cherin" on 6th has by far better quality & taste ..those crab rolls taste better & are infact more cheaper too..i can only be back to jeollado when i have a huge group of frens to drink their $1 hot sake..

My friend recommanded to visit this place.
When I entered, I was so suprised due to the huge space. I sat down and then looked at the menu... Oh my god.... I couldn't believe that price was so...so... resonable... You can have 16pics of rolls only with 6 bucks... Increable...
I found there is a karaoke room which has a big space, screen and cute drawings on the wall... I was talking to my friend to have my birthday party in July... I can't wait until July.... Anyway.... one of places I highly recommand... But Cash only....hmm....

I had my birthday party there this past weekend and I can't say enough good things about it. The karaoke room was HUGE, holding up to 45 people with a big projection screen for lyrics (song selection wasn't very extensive, but definitely enough motown, classics and pop to satisfy..no Bel Biv Devoe though!?). Nice anime paintings on the wall too. Sushi was tasty and affordable.

The staff was awesome, keeping us full of sake and sapporo, and they even kept the place open past closing for us. The room was $45 an hour unless you spend $400 on food and drink. We barely made it, wish we could've left a bigger tip to show appreciation.

All in all we had a great time and I hope someone I know books another party there soon! sake sake sake BOMB! good times...

beer, sushi, sake, CASH ONLY.

Jeollado has a great selection of standard japanese and korean food which they execute well. Nothing too fancy, but what they do is keep things simple and fresh. However i was really surprised at their awesome selection of sake. They realy went all out to gather as many types and trying them all with different foods is exciting. The staff were very helpful and kind as well. Will definatly go back.

If you have chance to go East Village, try Jeollado. Wasn't crowded at that time, maybe that's why I
got great service. But real surprise was the price. The price was a half of what I used to pay at a sushi house in Jersey. They are not authentic Japanese or Korean restaurant, but my son loves their food. Worth try.

What do I like about Jeollado? I like the 2 for 1 rolls (sometimes 3 for 1) the prices and the variety on the menu. What don't I like? The rolls are tiny so you have to order more anyway and they will often get your order wrong if you stray from the menu. For the money, it's a dependable and fun place to get sushi - bring friends and share the 2 for 1 rolls (they have to be 2 of the same.)

This place is a great deal for the price and the food they give you. Crab rolls are made with real crab, not the imitation crab. They also have a great unagi bim bim bap that you must order. Go here if you want a little bit of Korean combined with a little bit of Japanese food. Place is casual, not fancy.

Short of cash, with a big group, starving? This is the place. Okay, not the most delicate or delectible, but absolutely satisfying and the sake is cheap too. Portions are pretty amazing- especially the Amy roll for $8- damn thats a lot of food for $8. And the Jeollado (seaweed) salad- sometimes I get take-out somewhere else and go get that salad to be healthy and fill me up. All in all a great place, but not the most refined. Oh, also a pretty good scene, lots of people to look at.

There may be nicer places, or cheaper places, but Jeollado is probably the best cheap sushi in New York City.

Jeollado's "house rolls" are definitely a popular draw. They are damned good. You just have to try it for yourself.

I've been to Jeollado a bunch of times, and the fish is nearly always fresh. But I must admit I have stumbled on a couple of un-fresh days, but they are rare. The wait staff is nice, but they are kind of inattentive.

The atmosphere is like a cafeteria, so it's not romantic. However the casual atmosphere comes in handy if you want a good place to drop in and get food. It's not a place to impress a date. But it's perfect place to meet with someone for good-tasting sushi when a "restaurant-y" place would be too much for casual dining.

I must start by stating plainly that I love Jeollado, but it is loud, the service is bad, but the rolls are great and it is the best deal (CHEAP) in town. To all the Jeollado haters out there, try to remember not all sushi fans can eat at Nobu every weekend. Jeollado is the place for the rest of us.

My friends all call me a Sushi snob (I've tried Tomoe, Nobu, and Sushi Samba and have not been impressed). Jeollado blew me away! Rolls are SO fresh and SO cheap and it is rarity these days to find a sushi place that used REAL crabmeat- super plus!

I don't understand how this restaurant stays in business. I must say that my dinner there has been my worst dining experience to date. The sushi was not edible: fish was smelly (definitely NOT fresh!), rice was poorly made, the seaweed was moist and chewy like gum. The korean dishes are equally bad and lukewarm. I was so embarrassed to have brought my friend there for a going away dinner. I will not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

This place used to be one of my favorite sushi spots in NYC.
Together with Sandobe and West Side Sushi, this was a "must" for sushi lovers.
The last couple of times I went there the food was awful: fish was old, seaweed was chewy, and the rice smelled bad.
I am very disappointed to say this, but ...so long Jeollado...

After reading the negative sushi reviews, my boyfriend and I opted for their Korean fare. My Unagi Bop was bland while his Kal Bi was composed of very poor quality meat peppered with some sort of makeshift marinade. For good Korean food, stick to the eateries in Koreatown (in the thirties). Also, they need to work on their service.

Though people advised me on it's poor quality in food, I still went to see for myself. I wonder now why didn't I listen.. the beef teriyaki was as moist as the sahara. The sushi was down right horrendous, the slices were warm, some were mushy, not to mention extremely fishy tasting. Which is an indication to most on how poor the quality is. The rolls were the only things that tasted decent though the size was pathetic. Being that the food is so poor, a resturant like that can only stay in business by cutting corners in the amount that they serve you. All those reviewers claiming it was the best sushi they've ever eatten must not know what quality is. If you want quality AND quantity, I would recommend any other place. Overall, let's just say after that meal my stomach is still recovering.

The waiter messed up my order even after I called him over to checked with him. LOOK at who is making the sushi. All the raw fish are pre-cut. It is a freaking assembly line. My order came out and the fish was at room temperature. The menu said "real crab meat" but what I got was mayo w/ a few pieces of crab meat. The place smelled like a public bathroom the instant I walked in. There were flies all over the place. THIS IS A SUSHI PLACE! I will never return. This place is an absolute disgrace. The people that gave this place rave reviews do not know what SUSHI is.

Though the service leaves a lot to be desired, and the waitstaff runs around like chickens without heads, the beer is cold, the sake is hot, and the sushi is out of this world! The cheap prices only add to the good time and the atmosphere is perfect for groups. And they take reservations. Who doesn't love that?
