I have very long, very fine hair but I have a ton of it. People usually take hours and hours to highlight my hair. My colorist was great. She talked me out of a single process to go blonder and instead took the time to do highlights.

Having seen the work of Joel Warren and Edward Tricomi on various TV shows, I decided to splurge and book appointments with each of them at their Greenwich salon.

Cut....shorter than I wanted, but great great cut.

Color...absolutely terrible. I ended up with very very blonde hair that did not in anyway go with my skin tone. I asked for chestnut color. Did not listen to me at all. Came back for "correction". Assistant did the correction and it was just as bad as the original. Took months to get my hair back in condition. Joel is totally not with the price. Quite the opposite.

This is the ultimate in pampering! An oasis of amazing professionals to make you look and feel like a million dollars...all in the lavish Plaza Hotel. It's the ultimate splurge! And while it is very high class, everyone is very professional and very very friendly! You don't feel self conscious - just pampered.

Best haircut ever by Takashi.
Highlights by Danielle: NIGHTMARE
Highlights were chunks of gray; not blond. A way to fix it by Mr. Warren himself was to rinse my hair with gold rinse. Now my hair is orange.

I went to the Warren-Tricomi Salon after seeing the amazing job they did with a friend's hair & makeup for her rehearsal dinner & wedding. The salon in the new Plaza location is really beautiful and the receptionists were friendly and very accomodating. I was a bit earlier, and they took me immediately where Naru styled my hair. I didn't have a specific style in mind, but I explained my concerns & needs. She knew exactly what would look good on me, worked fast, and was super friendly the entire time. Next I went to the makeup artist...who was not who I was told I would be working with as I made an appointment with a different person, but I was fine with it. Again, I didn't have specifics as to what I wanted, but expressed a few wishes. She barely spoke which makes it a bit uncomfortable, but she did a beautiful job. I would absolutely go back to Naru and try another makeup artist out, simply as a comparison. Prices are a bit high, but not unexpected. I would love to go back to get a great haircut and color, but after reading the below reviews, I'm hesitant. I am definitely a person open to allowing a professional give me their honest opinion and do what's going to look absolutely best...but attitude I can do without.

Needed a color correction and went to Victoria for blondhighlights .
Previous appointment was at a salon downtown where the colorist sat and looked at my hair for a half hour and really had a hard time figuring out what needed to be done. Unfortunately I proceeded and was unhappy with the results.
A friend then reccomended Victoria at Warren Tricomi Salon to fix my hair.

Victoria looked at my hair and and almost completely understood what I wanted with very few words on my part. So experienced, the whole job seemed kind of effortless/.She understands use of color to produce beautiful highlights and lowlights. Especially the beautiful placed lighter strands to surround the face.

She also reccomend a stylist that had the same chic vision to get a cut with.
All in all received tons of compliments afterwards.

I highly reccomend Victoria and Warren Tricomi salon . Great choice for all around haircare and maintenance.

Pros: Talent; Experience; Visionary; Speed

Cons: Slightly Pricey - but unlike designer shoes, you wear your hair every day!

I've been going to the WT salon for years, and I feel like a million bucks every time when I walk out. Yes, it is busy and could be intimidating but they can do magic. Of course, it depends who you see. Edward has been cutting my hair and no other cut can ever compare to his. I can only afford him twice a year at best ($300 cut +tip+tip for the assistant, it really adds up) but it is always a transforming experience. He is always nice and charming and charismatic and very down to earth despite him being such a hair celebrity.

Allison gave me the best color - I always have people asking me on the street where I get my hair done (and I really have unremarkable fine hair by nature). I don't live in NY, it takes me 3 hrs to get there but it is so worth it. I wish it wasn't so overpriced though. Paying $300 for color and not getting your hair dried is a crime. That's why I always schedule a haircut right after my color appt. so that I get my blow-dry. That (and the hight prices) are the reasons I am giving it 4 stars instead of 5.

my wedding consultation took way to long, the guy who they said was the best, did not do what i wanted. he made me look like a sculpture. i paid $600. I went back for another consultation b.c i wasnt satisfied with the style he gave me i went back in and they made me pay again ($300). which shouldnt have been the case since i wasnt happy with what he was going to do for the most important day of my life. it was way to close to the wedding date to get a new salon so i had to deal. On the wedding day i brought him a pic of the second trial run style that i wanted him to do. and he was like "i know ,i know ". they refuse to listen to anything the customers have to say and think they know everything. They do what they want to do on your hair which is so not right. i dealt with the hair style, but he made the bun so low on my neck that all the bobby pins were falling out.i had to keep fussing with it all night. ON MY WEDDING. Oh and p.s i paid another $600 on the wedding day.

I was planning on going to get my hair cut by the Warren-Tricomi Salon but, from what I have read about the job they do in there I will avoid this place like the plague. I want to thank all the customers with horrible experiences because they voiced themselves. I will make sure that I inform all my friends and family not to go to that salon. Money does not grow on trees for this place to charge so much for horrible service.

I have lived in NYC for a long time now and I have been to many hair salons but SCOTT at the Warren Tricomi Salon on 57th St. is without a doubt the BEST STYLIST I'VE EVER HAD!! He is friendly, warm, attentive, caring, asked all the right questions, and always gives me the BEST HAIRCUT!! He asks me what I have in mind and really pays attention & listens to what I'm looking for, makes suggestions, and even shows me how to take care of my hair afterwards. I HIGHLY SUGGEST to anyone looking for a Talented and Caring Hairdresser to go to Scott at Warren Tricomi. He works Tues thru Friday from 12 to 7 and will even squeeze you in if you need him too. Best of all he has NO ATTITUDE!!

I have been going to Warren Tricomi for many years and I have to say it has really gone down hill. I get my hair colored there and whenever I leave, I always have roots. I quit having my hair cut there a few years ago because the hairdresser wouldnt do what I wanted and said "that cut wouldnt look good- Ill decide what to do". Many of the stylists/ colorists seem like beginners. Maybe if the price was like $50 it would be okay, but it is way overpriced for what you get.

What a joke! Incredibly rude and honestly just not very talented. I made my first appointment after watching a show on E! I have never been there so I decided that I would try it out however my biggest mistake was trying it out for an important night out! My first instinct to run was with the reception, VERY rude and I had to wait at least 35 minutes (which I could handle, but the reception kept motioning me to move out of the way due to traffic in the salon) Then when I finally was ready to get my hair cut and blown out I had a consultation with the hairdresser who had assured me he would only "Take off a quarter inch". I kept telling him I didn't want to go any shorter, after about 25 minutes I ended up with an uneven haircut 4 inches shorter then I wanted! The blowout was as bad as the cut. Stringy and not smooth it looked more damaged then when I walked in. I have never been so unhappy in my life! To top it off, I ended up paying around $225.00

It's the best place to get your hair done. It's expensive, but worth every penny. I've been going to Warren Tricomi what seems like my whole life. I've tried many a hairstylist and haircolorist and they are all amazing. The most amazing haircutter to me there right now now is Mark. He is fabulous. He is as talented as he is personable. I adore him. And if you're in need of a some color I highly recommend Yolanda. She is terrific.
I' ve never been disappointed with either one of them. NEVER!!!

You know, I hardly ever write bad reviews for anything, but I signed up for citysearch JUST to warn people about Warren Tricomi. I went there before reading the other reviews, and let me tell you, what people have said here is true!

My colorist was incredibly snobby and rude- after I told her exactly what I wanted (single color, chocolate brown), she rolled her eyes and said, "No, I'm not doing that. You're getting highlights." After having an argument with her (literally), I decided to try it, since she insisted she had been coloring hair for 10 years. She did a slipshod job and then left me with wet hair and a hairdryer in my hand!! After 45 minutes of drying my own hair, I discovered that I could hardly see any highlights, so I asked to see her again (she had disappeared, and didn't come back to see what it looked like).

She got really irritated and yelled at me, saying, "You know, I really don't know what you want me to do." To make a long story short, she pretended to fix it with some sort of glaze which didn't really do anything. I was left for a SECOND TIME with sopping wet hair and a blowdryer in my hand.

Even the 19 year old asian girl that washed my hair had a major attitude. After another 30 min of self-drying, I asked to see the colorist and was told, "she's not here. Sorry." What the hell??? The colorist doesn't actually wait to see what it looks like after you finish drying it yourself!! What place treats their customers like this?

This place should be shut down. I was so embarrassed walking out of that place with my hair half wet, other customers were looking at me with pitiful expressions. I have never had a worse experience at a hair salon, and believe me, I've been to the best places in New York. The only redeeming factor was that after calling and complaining, the manager was very apolegetic and did offer to re-do my color; I will not be taking them up on the offer anytime soon however.

After having an argument with her (literally), I decided to try it, since she insisted she had been coloring hair for 10 years.

Pros: Appts readily available

Cons: Attitude, Additional $100 for Blowdrying, Impersonal Treatment

I'm neither a celebrity nor a socialite. I have, however, been having my hair cut in New York for 35 years, and Warren-Tricomi is the best salon I've ever used. Edward Tricomi has been my stylist for over 30 years, and i can't say enough about him. He's professional, he's fun, and he's a great stylist. I always get compliments on my cut wherever I go. The staff at W-T is equally pleasant and professional - from Angela and Lynn at the front desk to the assistants to the people who staff the changing room. It's a busy atmosphere that manages to be fun and relaxed at the same time. I would recommend this salon highly to anyone seeking a great cut at reasonable (for NYC) prices.

I had Brandon Martinez, a great hair stylist & reality TV star cut my hair. He was wonderful and many people, especially men -- seem to want to touch it after he did a very subtle trim. I am a platinum blond w/long hair that is hard to cut; but Brandon carried it off w/out a hitch.

This is a high end salon for young people. Very crowded! You can't have your hairstyling be a pampering experience in this kind of environment. The shop is busy but efficient. I'm not a native New Yorker; so I was kind of clustrophobic. The women at the front desk have to work quickly. The assistant was very sweet. There was no music playing. It could use some mood alteration but they would have to really expand to do that.

I came for a great hair cut & I got it. Usually I pick out avant garde salons that are a bit more atmospheric and therefore, a bit more fun. WT is all business. Not a place to bond w/stylist, staff or other customers.

Cons: Grand Central Station atmosphere does not create ambiance

I recently went to Warren Tricomi for a hair makeover. I got my hair colored by Betty and styled by Mark. I was sooo happy with the outcome!!! Got the best honey colored highlights and long layered hair cut. My friends didn't recognize me!!! I love my hair and will never go to another salon. My bill was $300+ but it was worth every penny. Love it!

I went to warren-tricomi for the first time and it was my best experience so far in the city. I was referred to Erin for color and nate for a haircut and they were both outstanding, I left the salon feeling like a million bucks and have already told all my friends about it.

As a model, I have been going to Warren Tricomi for my cuts and color for about 4 years now. Although I am usually pleased with the way my hair looks, the service at this salon has gone steadily downhill as the prices continue to go up. Billed as a "top hair salon", you would think that they would want their customers to walk out of this salon being able to want to tell people where they get their hair done. They used to set you up with someone to blow dry your hair after your service, IF SOMEONE WASN'T DOING SOMETHING ELSE, and I thought that was bad enough. Now, the only way to walk out of the salon without your hair soaking wet after having it colored is if you pay an exhorbitant amount to have someone else blow dry it for you. This is how they are able to jam pack appointments together. They color your hair, then send you on your way while they start on someone else. Don't think your colorist would dare pick up a blowdryer themselves even if they don't have a waiting appointment right after you. How do they even see how your color came out while it is still sopping wet? They will however be so kind to hand you a 30 pound professional blowdryer and brush and tell you to do it yourself if you want it done. Time after time I walk out of that place with my hair half dry and arms that are sore for at least a day. Amazing. I would be embarrased to have customers walk out of the salon they way I see so many do.

I've been going to this salon for about 5 years - it is the ABSOLUTE BEST. The hairstylists and colorists are the best in the business - I am constantly being asked my friends and even strangers about who does my hair! The salon itself is a TREAT - so beautiful inside. The entire staff is friendly and down to earth (no primadonna hairdressers at all!), and are always very accomodating. Also, there is never any waiting around - your appt. begins exactly the time of your booking. I would recommend this salon to everyone - it is addictive! Once you go - you'll never want to go anywhere else!

I used a gift certificate there today and if I could, I would ask for my money back! The manicure was average, but the major turn-offs were the RUDE staff (only the lady taking out the trash was pleasant) and the "I'm too sexy atmosphere". Since I wasn't an independently wealthy socialite or a high profile regular, I was brushed aside. I used "Please" and "Thank You" in all of my sentences, but in return I got a lot of eye rolling, curt answers and COMPLETE disregard for the fact that I was on my lunch hour from WORK. If I received another complementary treatment from someone, I would give it right back. It was THAT bad.

*And I DID see someone blow-dying their own hair! What's up with that?! I could do that at home for free...

I followed Ryan Loesby from Bumble & bumble and am so glad that I did. My color has never looked better. Ryan is so accommodating and respectful. Hes a real class act. I cant imagine anyone else touching my hair. Ryan listens to me and really cares about what I want but is not afraid to give me his input.

He spends a week every five weeks in LA so make sure you are able to make your appointments in advance. I can assure you that you will not be disappointed!

Yes it is expensive, yes the staff is less then attentive and somewhat intimidating, but my hair has never looked this good ever. Beauty comes at a price, and I will pay what ever it takes. It is Kazamori who cuts my hair, and he is absolutely wonderful. My friends tell me all the time how great my hair looks. In fact they now go to him too. Also it's always easy to make an appointment.

Horrible skill, horrible management, overpriced and most of all.....UNPROFESSIONAL!!! A terrible experience from start to finish. My mother received a terrible haircut at the Rockerfeller Plaza location. She looked like she had just rolled out of bed. I was booked for my wedding and they ditched me 2 weeks before the day. The makeup artist at the Rockerfeller location did not know what she was doing. She couldn't cover up the smallest blemish!! My 10 year old niece does better makeup. The management told me they would comp me another tryout at the 57th street location and when I arrived, they changed their minds and I was told that they would charge me an additional 300. I have nothing more to say.

They do a decent job, but for the very high prices, you should leave there feeling like a queen. Instead you are treated like you don't exist. Plus you pay $200 for highlights and then you have to sit there and blow dry your own hair! But if you are willing to pay another $100, then they will gladly have someone blow dry your hair for you. Plus, they will try to rip you off at every turn, adding extras to your bill you didn't agree to. My friend went there and said the same thing happened to her. Well if you have lots of extra money to throw around, go here for decent hair care, but don't go here if you want a pampering experience.

I went to a hair modeling class and had the best time. Everyone was so friendly and totally made you feel at ease. The cut was extrememly affordable. Really took the time to listen to what you want and really cares about you. I was shocked my friend was really dissappointed, but I was elated. He even took the time to straighten my long curly hair with the Iron. I would go again again again again etc. This was the modeling class, imagine the possibilities when you do the normal cut.

I dont know what these people are talking about! I've been going to WT for at least 5 years and I've never had a bad experience... Eyebrow waxing with Kristy, haircuts with Ronnie and hair color with Betty... Everyone is fabulous... these people are just clueless!

The student who did my highlights didn't speak English, gave me the wrong color, and screwed up every step of the way. If it weren't for the teacher watching her like a hawk, I am convinced my hair would have fried off.

They they took off the foils and realized that she messed up badly, so the teacher had to give me MORE color to match my natural brown. Well, he gave me the WRONG brown, so now I have:
bad highlights AND a strip of a random brown going down my head.

She also didn't know how to blowdry, or shampoo properly, and the teacher made up a lousy excuse for her.

It was tortuous, and i was there for 4 hours. My complaints didn't even get me a gift certificate or any sort of apology.
