.

Here's my experience with the company(specifically this Liverpool NY location), hopefully it will help someone avoid a headache in the future. I signed up with aspen gym approximately three years ago. Unfortunately I was never an avid user of the gym so I don't have too much to say about the trainers or staff employed at the gym. The equipment was more than sufficient and seemed pretty much up to date and clean. So basically, my experience with the gym was satisfactory UNTIL I TRIED TO CANCEL MY ACCOUNT. I hadn't used the gym in months and was continuously billed and finally decided I needed to stop wasting the money. Naturally, I called the front desk and asked to cancel my subscription and was told very rudely that i had to come in or mail a signed letter asking for cancellation. When I finally made my way in to cancel I asked to see the contract I signed to make sure all the charges were accurate and appropriate. The young lady told me they kept them at corporate and didn't even have a copy on file. I asked if she could have a copy sent over and she told me that if i wanted one i could drive to the corporate office and pick it up which seemed odd. I decided it wasn't worth the hassle as I didn't owe very much money and started filling out the cancellation form. At the bottom of the form luckily i noticed it said Aspen had the right to CONTINUE billing me for the membership for two more months even though i was there, in person, telling them the service was no longer needed. After a little complaint the fee was waived and the girl told me to have a nice day, definitely in a snotty tone of voice but i suppose that is an opinion. Unfortunately when I signed up I was too impatient to read the contract myself and took the manager's word for what i was signing up for. The moral of MY story is this; if you decide to use this gym make sure you take the time to read every piece of paper you sign and stay skeptical. They will tell you whatever you want to hear to get your signature, and make it as inconvenient as possible to cancel it when you no longer need them. Hopefully this will help save you the same headache i just went through in the future and allow you to have a more pleasurable experience with Aspen than I did. On a side note the young lady I dealt with was extremely rude from start to finish and almost seemed proud of the fact. This was only one person though, again I dont know much about the current staff.
