The food is good here. The location is great - it makes you feel like you are in Soho. Great art right outside the window.

Okay, granted Beacon is not in a gourmet city. However, I had heard good things about this place and decided to give it a try. Boy was I disappointed and then some. Majority of the staff seemed to be teens and our waitress was acting as if she was sedated and disinterested. We tested out the food by ordering the basics: steamed dumplings, Tom Kah Gai (chicken coconut soup) and shrimp Pad Thai. The dumplings were hard on the outside, all yellow and looked unappetizing. Clearly they were nuked. The soup was too thick and powdery, tasted very instant and missing ingredients. The noodles only had two shrimp, and tasted like ketchup noodles with beansprouts and peanuts. The limited basil leaves used in the dishes were not fresh either. Bottom line: if you ever want to eat Thai food around this area, go to the local supermarket and get those instant Thai Kitchen bowls. You will be saving a lot of money and disappointment.
