The Chopra Center is dedicated to awakening balance, healing and transformation. Based upon the principle that our experiences become our biology, we are dedicated to helping people translate their good intentions into great choices. Founded over a decade ago by Drs. Deepak Chopra and David Simon, the Chopra Center integrates the wisdom and traditions of East and West to celebrate and explore the infinite potential of the human spirit. A key tenet of the Chopra Center is that the human body has an inner pharmacy, capable of naturally generating the chemistry of happiness and health. We can enliven this inner pharmacy through nurturing sounds, sensations, sights, tastes, smells, and authentic wisdom. Every component of a Chopra Center experience is designed to eliminate stress and maximize comfort in body, mind, and soul.
I find this place to be quite the 'find'. It's not huge, the classes are wonderful and small. When you go to a gym every move is so rushed. This is relaxing and moving. I loved it. The free meditation is nice as well. It's very peaceful especially after a crazy work day. It's a real gift to just to be able to sit quiet for a 1/2 hour and get yourself grounded.

When I first received a gift certificate to the chopra center & spa I was very excited to go.
I booked the facial that is cleansing called "amara clarifying facial" and I was expecting
that - extractions but what I got instead was more of a relaxing massage to my face and arms.
When the facialist was doing the extraction - she only used this tool and only focused
on my nose. She totally ignored extracting my forehead,
my cheeks, my chin and I even had to point out to her the space above my lips - I asked her -
did you get that blackhead? (I knew where a few spots were before I went into the facial,
expecting the facialist to address them)
I mean, afterwards, I went home and squeezed out
a couple she missed. I was very disappointed in the facial.
IF, I knew coming into this that it
was a relaxing "facial" and they are light on the extraction then I'd understand, but
that was not to my understanding - according to the menu it says "cleanse and purify congested skin.... and thorough extractions". That was not my experience at all. If you want serious facials, I'd recommend Bliss. They are expensive
but serious skincare. Also, as a note, there is a steam room, but it is so small, it is the space of a personal shower room, so, I went in and there was a girl in there without clothes on, taking up the small bench in there and the rest of the area is standing only - so I just ditched out. Great - another disappointment to bear.
I felt bad that I received this as a gift, it would have been fine if I paid for it for myself,
which meant that it was something I'd deal with myself,
but to have to
tell my boyfriend that this facial disappointed me, just upset me very much, Plus it's priced
at the high end - it's not some cheap facial at all. I wish I did not have
to do that.
Pros: relaxing
Cons: slack on extractions

I went to Chopra during spa week... you enter the store and head downstairs, where the floorplan is quite large (spa service, sitting room and yoga). The folks were all very pleasant. I had a facial which was not aggressive, rather more focused on calming and relaxing (about 40-45 minutes long). At the end, there is no hard product sell (chopra has its own line). My facialist actually forgot to recommend products, but I was quite impressed with and bought the mild acne cleanser, which had an alluring but calming lemongrass smell (prices are pretty typical). The only thing I was a little annoyed by was that we fill out the "chopra" survey which is supposed to tell you what "type" of person you are... my facialist never reviewed it with me.
Pros: warm staff, great skincare products

I booked a facial during spa week to try out the spa.
The facilities are beautiful and tranquil, very rich feeling. the locker room was well equpped and then I sat in relaxation room, and filled out my "quiz" so they could determine my "type". the facialist escorted me to room, which was well designed. the facial was terrific, she explained things but no chatter and did an excellent job. all in all a great experience. my only complaint is that while I was changing, I heard a lot of noise coming from hallway and when I went out I was told there was a bridal shower spa party. they were making so much noise, they really should have been asked to keep it down for the other guests' benefit. If i had been receiving my treatment with that noise it would have been very distracting. the prices are a bit much (facials are $150+), and not sure if I would pay the full price..but it is an excellent spot if price isnt an issue with you.
Pros: ambience
Cons: a little pricey

I HIGHLY recommend the Darshana facial (the one I got). I know nothing about Ayurveda, but after answering a simple questionnaire about myself, the aesthetician, Jaclyn, somehow figured out exactly what worked for me. Jaclyn gave the best facial I have EVER had. I'm sure the atmosphere--beautiful, dimly-lit, soft music--had something to do with it, but at one point my mind went blank and the next thing I know, I am waking up from nodding off. And then it happened AGAIN! It was unreal, just too hard to explain. I found out from the girl at the front desk that Jaclyn IS THE ONE WHO DESIGNED THE FACIAL SERVICES!
I chose that facial, because they said it is to cleanse, detoxify and hydrate, which it did, but the unexpected reward was the calm I felt after the facial, which I personally havent had for a really long time.
Pros: Facials, Atmosphere, Jaclyn!
Cons: Hard to find
