Located in the up and coming Fi Di (financial district), Bin no. 220 has been dubbed "the perfect spot for a wine amateur to feel in control" by the New York Times. The wine list is arranged according to co-owners Calli and Sandy's different tastes. There's something for everyone-even the most discerning wine lovers-on the well edited, all Italian menu. With a cozy, intimate atmosphere, lovingly restored 200 year old interior details, and outdoor front porch perfect for people watching. Great downtown vibe
by EricW1968
My coworkers and I love this spot. It's one of those places that always has a decent after work crowd. Really casual, relaxed service and atmosphere. Good selection of what I think is all Italian wine list. They also serve martinis and scotch. Decent snacks too
Pros: atmosphere

my favorite after work hang out
by feingoldl08
I usually don't write reviews, but I felt like I should tell people about how great this place is. Its my favorite place to go for a drink after work-and I have my pick being in the financial district. It's the only bar that doesn't have a TV-so right off the bat I liked it. Bin o. 220 always has a decent crowd-young professionals. Never over crowded-just perfect. nice soft music-and really the best place to unwind. At least some things remain consistent in this world right now!
Pros: ambience
Cons: small food menu

Great wine, cute little spot
by peterwino
A nice election of wines, a really nice staff. All in all a great wine bar to have in the neighborhood.

wİde selection
by jenkin
This place rocks. The servers are cordial and attentive. They make very good drinks from a wide selection. The atmosphere hits the target unless you like musty smells and chipped paint. The only problem is that the place is small and telling you all about it is going to make my life hell. Maybe I should re-think this.
Cons: small

great for work functions
by vanessanyc74
Our office had a private party at Bin no. 220 last week, and it was the nicest atmosphere for an event like this.
In my experience, every time my office has a private function the service has been really [poor. I guess that is because the waiters/bartenders don't have to be nice in order to get a tip-its already included! But not at this place, you would never have guessed that the staff wasn't working for a tip-they were so nice and totally accommodating-Even my boss had a good time, and she is very hard to please! Everything was great. Wil definitely plan more after work functions here.
Pros: great service

Good after-work spot
by Nativeater
Had the red flight of the day and shared the cheese plate. The wine was overpriced, but good. The service was excellent--friendly and attentive. The wines were explained, but the cheeses were not--leading to suprise cheese taste testing...and the cheeses used, while generally highly edible, were all very uniform in texture and color, making for a bland presentation). The large-sized plate was generous enough for three. Was worried there were only stools before going, but there were some comfier tables. Other menu selections looked interesting, but slim. In general, the prices were on par or better than at other wine bars, likely in part because of the ultra-cute and cozy, but remote (in Manhattan at least) location off of South St. Seaport. I would go again.

the perfect bar for women
by letseatouttonight5
me and my girlfriends love going to this place, we always share a bottle of wine with a cheese plate. It's totally relaxing, no waiter trying to rush you out, no men trying to pick you up, no tv showing sports. It's like the perfect bar for women-and as it turns out 2 women own it, so I guess they built it that way! Way to go! and as a perk the guy who works there is very cute and so charming.
Pros: atmosphere
Cons: none

Cozy Spot with great service, wine and cheese
by breezenyc
This place rocks! They have a great selection of drinks and the most delicious cheeses with different dipping choices. The staff was extremely friendly and very happy to help us with wine selection. They played a great selection of music but not so loud that you can't have a conversation. I will definitely go back there.
Pros: Ambience, friendly service and great selection of wines
Cons: none

best place for office holiday party
by chuckb66
We go to Bin no. 220 after work quite often, and always have a good time. Last week we had our off ice holiday party at it was just perfect. Everything from the food and drinks to the service. A few people from my office had never been and they were very excited to discover something new. It was nice that we were only about 35 people but we had the whole place to ourselves.

Great spot to try
by wendyrw
A group of us went to this cute wine bar last night after work. The service was incredible, they let us try a couple of wines before we decided on a bottle. We had the best mozarella cheese I have ever had. All of us are going to make this our new after work spot.
Pros: Food and Wine
Cons: none

great place for after work!
by twoo75
I work not far from this awesome wine bar. A few people from m office went here last night. We had such a great time. Delicious wine and cheese (my kind of meal!) They also serve liquor for the non-wine drinkers. Very cozy atmosphere, and so nicely decorated for the holidays!
Pros: Wine, food, atmosphere

best date spot downtown
by spaghetti10014
Brought a date to this place, and it was the perfect setting. candlelight and a comfortable banquet, brick wall and dark wood. My date especially liked the fact that there was no television, and music was kept at a conversation level. Great selection of wines and great nibbles. Cant wait to go back.

Finally a great wine bar downtown!
by sandita
I work and live in the financial district, but only just recently discovered this place. Great wine selection, and everything I've had on the menu has been delicious. The staff is very friendly, not your usual pretentious wine snobs. Charming cobble stone block. You feel like you're in soho or tribeca at this spot, not the south street seaport!
Pros: great date spot or after work with friends

Sophisticated and Superb
by rjknyc
I have been a frequent guest at Bin 220 for the past year and am shocked to see such negative comments about my favorite wine bar. The atmosphere is stylish and relaxed - and the staff is polite and non-intrusive. Perhaps these other people enjoy pretentious NYC winebars with obnoxious overbearing "wine snob" bartenders and staff. I prefer an intimate place like this where everyone is made to feel comfortable and I can engage the staff on my own terms.
It's a total standout in the neighborhood perfect for a romantic date OR cocktails with friends!
Pros: Stylish and sophisticated

Great find in the seaport
by tinatola
I discovered this place last week. A couple of us from the office had lunch here. While the food was delicious, I really wanted to try the wine (the wine display alone makes you want to drink!). So we went back last night. We had a great time, service was great despite how busy they were, They let us taste a couple wines before deciding what to have. They divided up the wine list in a really user friendly way. I went with people from work, but can't wait to bring a date here.
Pros: great wine, great atmosphere
Cons: a little to crowded

Great find in a cool location
by punky21
I met some friends for a few drinks here on a Friday after work. It was pretty empty when I arrived at 6pm but quickly filled up. It was totally crowded an hour later at 7pm. The bartender was totally friendly and helpful when picking out something to drink. She let me taste it first so that I didn't waste $9 on a glass of wine I didn't like. The menus are on brown paper bags and the wine menus are inside. Another good touch to the laid-back atmosphere of the wine bar.
I arrived early so I got a great seat on the very narrow "outside" area. The people watching kept me busy while I was waiting for my friends to show up - they are always late. We ordered a bottle of the Pinot Grigio Vignetti I was drinking when they arrived, which cost $32. Not bad for a trendy new wine bar in a great location.
Pros: location, laid-back atmospher, service, outdoor seating
Cons: small and cramped when crowded

Great Wines; Horrible Food
by mb555
We discovered this bar fairly recently and have enjoyed the proximity to our apartment; service is great with a pretty good selection of wines both by the bottle and glass; however, do not come hungry. Only appetizers are served and they are horrible. Otherwise, great place to sit and chill with friends or just by yourself.
Pros: wine selection
Cons: food
