the food was good but the service was bad, the waiter had a dry attitude, never brought the requested spoon and never came to ask us if things were good.. never said thank you, he didn't picked the check. The worst part was when i complained to a lady that appear to be a manager or owner , she didn't care that her waiter gave a bad service. i wanted to get dessert and a soda but no one came to ask!.....

These monkeys think it's acceptable behavior to blast out music at 3:00am and wake up the whole neighborhood.

This place is disgusting to look at, eat at, and the service is horrible. Hopefully it'll go out of business any day now

Pros: Good location?

Cons: Bad food, bad service, rude conduct.

This place was ok when I started going, a while back; now its just horrible, the waitstaff, w/ the exception of Jorge, is horrible, not polite, uncaring-these girls are the worst when it comes to providing a great service. The food is not even all that great anymore and most of the time I've ended up waiting for 20min for my food so when it gets to my table one order seems to be missing(the last 2 times I was there). HORRIBLE!!!

We ordered delivery from Guadalupe, and we were disappointed when we saw that we spent nearly $40 for two small enchiladas and nachos.

The food quality was good, but it did not justify the price and the portion size.

We only ordered delivery and we have not tried dining in the actual restaurant.

They did not meet our expectations and we will not be ordering from them again. I would not recommend that you order from them either.

My boyfriend and I used to frequent this place for brunch. The first 2-3 times we came it was really good. Afterawhile though we realized the food quality was really declining and it wasn't just a one time thing. The chicken was REALLY dry and so was the rice. They both seemed like they were from the day before and reheated (maybe even older!) It was so gross. We won't be wasting our money here. I agree with the things the other reviewers have said. SO not worth it. Very pricey too, especially for being such poor quality and stale.

Pros: the dip that comes with the chips is good

Cons: dry, old food, bad service

There are not enough words to describe how disappointing this place is. The decor looks lovely from the outside, but when you come in, it is so devoid of ambience (probably because the seating is set up awkwardly and the ceilings are high, and other than the large & obvious ONE piece of decor, the place looks barren) plus the place is likely to not only *feel* empty, but BE empty, because anyone who has already eaten here will not return. On a summer evening, when there was literally only one other table, the waitress took 10 minutes to ask us if we'd like to order a beverage. Then it was another 10 for a glass of water. The sangria was made with cheap wine--because it gave me an instant headache--and arrived just after our appetizer (which was like glorified Taco Bell). Our entrees were slow to arrive, and when they did, I wished they had gotten lost on the way. The chicken was dry and sad, and the only flavor to be found was from the chili masking the blandness.
At the end, between the slow service, the weird eating in a warehouse but not in a cool way feeling, the raging headache from the cheap wine in the sangria, and the flavorless food, we could not get out of there fast enough. The singular highlight, other than the dessert, which I imagine is impossible to flub up anyway, was getting the check and getting out of there.

Pros: None.

Cons: Ambience was non existent, food was dry, waitstaff was slow, sangria was cheap and awful

We had several great meals here over the past months. The food has stayed good. But the service has deteriorated badly. They have some servers who are just plain incompetent.

Our waitress told us the bar "forgot" to fill our drink order, resulting in a twenty minute delay. Then she told us the kitchen "forgot" to put one of the ingredients in one of our tapas--resulting in a half-hour delay in all four tapas we'd ordered. We couldn't get water until we went to the kitchen ourselves. We were never offered a refill on chips and salsa...which we needed considering the very long food delay.

And our other issue is the kids. Last time we went--on a Friday evening for a rare night out without our daughter--there was a table full of people who seemed to be related to either the owner or manager. They had some children with them. These kids were treating the restaurant as their playground. They were SWINGING ON THE CURTAINS. They were singing, dancing, and running races throughout all the tables. They were picnicking on the FLOOR--crackers and juice boxes. This continued for the entire 1 1/2 hours of our meal (yes, a long meal, due to the waitress's incompetence).

Being out as a couple, this really bugged us. But it would have bothered us even more with our daughter--we don't want her to start thinking this is acceptable restaurant behavior.

We actually saw people look through the window and see these kids running around...then turn around and apparently decide to dine elsewhere.

We won't be back, as it seems that this kind of atmosphere is encouraged by the management. When we have the time and money to eat at a place like Guadalupe, we expect a nice ambiance, quiet, and good service...not Chuck E. Cheese with a liquor license.

The only other review of this restaurant departed so much from reality that we had to write about our experience at their cinqo de mayo "celebration" 2007. We had been there once before, and found that the "homemade" margaritas were made with mix but the food was decent. But this time, whoa. The price: $25 a head, buffet and all you can eat and drink (that is, if you can get a drink). The margaritas, when they finally arrived, were horrid. Like capri sun and cuervo. When we asked for a beer instead, we were told all we could order was coors light. So we finally settled on a couple of red wines -- not exactly the fiesta we were looking for. After arguing for our drinks and fighting off busboys who were trying to take our plates, we decided not to leave much of a tip. But when we got the bill a 15 percent gratuity was included. Outrageous! The experience was so bad that it was funny. But please don't subject yourself to this. Take it from us. Please.

Good mexican food is hard to come by in the city, but this was truly authentic. From the wonderful salsa to the delicious entrees, Guadalupe's has been the only Mexican restaurant in the city to impress me. The churrasco is excellent. The restaurant was a bit pricy though. The cheaper entrees are cheap because they are more appetizer portion.
