I walk past this place all the time so i had to give it a try. The food was average and definitely overpriced. I wouldn't give it another try unless they made some serious changes.

I was super excited to find this little grass-fed gem in Chelsea during our recent trip to Manhattan. My husband had a beef burger topped with egg, cheese, and some other goodies. I was delighted to find toppings such as 'egg' on the menu. I had the turkey burger. It was very juicy, rare for a turkey burger. The bun was quite greasy, and the burger itself was not very big and cost around $10...without fries or a drink. If it had been a $6.00 burger, I might have given a 4-star review. The food was good, the atmosphere was great....lots of leg room (rare for Manhattan)...but the food was not worth the prices, especially if you're looking to 'pig out'. Overall okay,

A new addition to the Upper East Side burger scene, BRGR just opened this past Saturday steps away from Bloomingdales, where FLIP burger has been keeping burger fanatics satisfied since it's opening. BRGR hopes to challenge their burger talents by featuring their popular colorfully labeled Grass fed burgers like the "Blue Sky Burger" "The Beautiful Day Burger" and "The Rainforest Burger". Other faved fried accoutrements include sweet fries, regular fries and onion hay. Black and White Milkshakes and Blueberry Pomegranate shakes also appear. Full review from DMANBURGER to come.

the burger was decent but definitely not worth the price. It didn't even come with fries. Not much better than fast food places. I would not go back again.

Best burger I've had all year.Being new to the neighborhood, I have been searching for a great burger. Found it at brgr! Not sure what grass-fed means, but it sure is good and melts in your mouth. With bathing suit weather behind us, you have to try the shake. It gets three WOWs. Staff was busy, but kindof friendly. pricey, but worth it.

One step above McDonald's. There are a lot of burger places in NYC. i would not recommend going to this one. Burger was average, atmosphere was blah.

And that was just the veggie burger. The fries were like fast food, and the shake wasn't as great as the reviews said it was. I spent almost $20 there. For the only time ever.

Like so many new lunch places in NYC these days, Brgr takes a really simple food idea and screws it up, royal-y w/ cheese. It took a good twenty minutes for the surly waiter-dude to drop the greasy sac in my hands. Back at work, I opened the cutesey bag to find a crumpled foil ball with a crumpled cheeseburger. I guess my burger was the one the cooks kept pulling apart and reassembling in front of me. All this: (1) chesseburger w/ complementary fixins and (1) fountain soda = $10.02. But the crowd makes it worth it: 30 yr old dufuses from Columbus OH going on about their summer long bender, alongside the usual slog of balding Bruce-Willis-Dads sneering and drooling at unlucky ladies.

I am sorry if I sound like an a-hole, I just really didn't enjoy it, especially b/c of the cost of it. I also take full responsibility for any and all spelling mistakes.

Pros: style over substance

Cons: expensive, slow and greasy

I went in to brgr on a Sunday night and ordered a veggie burger and fries. It was over $10! Additionally, it wasn't air conditioned even though it was well into the 80s after a day in the mid 90s, so I didn't want to stay to eat there, as I had planned.
There were only about 4 other people ordering/waiting for food in the place, with four cooks and it took 16 minutes for me to get my food! They brought it out in a basket so they had to re-wrap it up and then I was on my way.
The food itself was alright. The french fries were kinda skinny and a little too salty, but that's all in my preference. The portion was generous. The veggie burger wasn't bad, wasn't good. It also was on the larger side. Like others said, the toppings were lacking, even though mine were very basic (ketchup, lettuce, onions).
In all, I don't think I will go back because it was so expensive and not amazing on any front.

Let me start out by saying I love burgers. You'd be hard-pressed to find a bigger fan than I when it comes to this carnivore's staple.

When brgr opened, my coworkers were the first to try it out. I heard it was expensive and figured I'd wait to hear a few opinions before I tried out a brand new location. The initial response I received was that it was ok, but nothing special. A couple months later, I asked another coworker that I saw had gotten it for lunch. Same response.

Finally, this past week I was craving a burger. McDeath is right across the street from work but screw that. I decided to try it out for myself. The staff was friendly enough. I ordered "the brgr" to go, which is said to come with american cheese, brgr sauce, and grilled onions. I couldn't taste the grilled onions, so I decided to search for them. I found about 3 specks of them. This was pretty much the case with all of the toppings. They were there, but in minimal amounts. Luckily I had some BBQ sauce to salvage the extremely average (and frozen) burger.

I also got the onion hay, which was good but not worth $2.50.

Paying almost $11 for this without a drink is a rip off. If you want a better experience and a truly superior burger, I highly recommend 67 Burger in Brooklyn. (and no, I don't work for/own 67 Burger)

I really don't understand the high rating this place currently has on here. It certainly doesn't deserve it.

Pros: onion hay was good

Cons: expensive, meager toppings, bland

Crazily overpriced, tasteless burgers with overcooked, cold fries. Could barely even pick up the burgers to eat them they were so soggy. We thought we'd treat ourselves but for a mouthful of expensive blah we shoulda just kept looking for the pizza slices we'd had in mind. Grrr.

(It cost $28 for 2 burgers, 2 fries & 2 sodas. So we expected jumbo, delicious burgers with crispy, fresh, 'hot' fries - not the day old, wet, totally limp, real bad imitation happy meals that we got. We didn't even finish them).

Been there twice. Food is tasty but...
Two visits, and twice they got our orders wrong. And they weren't complicated.
Last night our fries were the dreggs of the fryer.
Buns didnt come close to holding up the burgers - ours fell apart completely last night.
Had to ask for a cup even though I had ordered and paid for a fountain drink.
And the service is not outgoing or particularly friendly.
Not going back. Too many other good burger joints.

Walked in off the street to find a great suprise. Great juicy burgers with fun toppings. The atmosphere is casual and the service is friendly. There are not too many quick burger places where you can find gruyere, avocado & herbed mayo as a topping which is fabulous on the turkey burger. It's a great place for a quick burger. Better yet you can have a glass of vino or beer to top it off!

Fast food type burger joint serves ground-beef blend burgers with a multitude of topping choices, hand cut fries(and sweet fries) as well as shakes and Pints of Brooklyn Brews ($5). Close proximity to Madison Square Garden that gurantees a fast, casual, good eat before a game!

If you are in the mood for paying $20 for a dry tasteless burger and burnt fries and awsome shake, then Brgr is for you. They claim that the burgers are 1/3 lb, but i have seen thicker jucier burgers at McDonalds for 99 cents. The fries were all over cooked and not very hot. Plus everything is rediculously over priced. I would only recomend the shakes, i have had vanilla and black and white, and they are good but expensive. Over all, the burger joint at the le parker meriden is much better.

Pros: Milkshakes

Cons: Prices and food

Great design, but overpriced and disappointing food. Service was slow and inattentive: it took the servers 3 attempts to bring me the right shake (I ordered a chocolate shake which should not be difficult to get right), and although I ordered my burger medium-rare, it came out well done. The burger is thin, dry, and unremarkable -- not unlike a fast-food burger but three times the price.

So I've only been to Brgr for their shakes- yes its a $6 shake, and yes, you'll probably have to wait at least 10 minutes to get it, but they're so delicious. Try the pomegranate blueberry one.

I tried the Turkey Burger here. It was tasty & juicy. Definitely better than anything from Mickey D's, but a little on the pricey side. Nonetheless, it was good. The Sweet Potato Fries weren't crunchy, but I like them a little soggy anyway. Overall, a decent burger joint if you want to dish out $7+ for a burger.

I came here for lunch with a friend, and I don't know if they are living up to their name. The burgers (while very tasty and juicy) were small and considering how quick they came out, I felt as though I was in a more of an upscale burger king. The burgers are also pricey for the size, and knowing that this place opened the same time as Stand (which is awesome!) they definitely aren't stepping up. i would say check this place out, but don't expect that much...

I just went there for lunch, and now have discovered the best veggie burger place in town! That was the most mouthwateringly flavorful delicious burger I have ever had, veggie or meat! Usually when you think veggie burger, an image of freezer thawed crusty tastelss brown mystery food, but this burger was so fresh and tasty it didn't taste like veggies at all. Mine was topped with goat cheese, lettuce and tomatoes..perfection. Although I wish they added more lettuce, and something else came with the burger since it was a bit pricey for what I got, but it was worth it.

I was looking for a place to eat before my dance class where I could grab something quick and go. I initially wasn't going to go in but with a name like BRGR I had to go in and find out if their burgers were good. First of all, you have so many options to choose from, they offer angus beef burgers, turkey burger and veggie burger with almost any topping you can think of! And the burger was moist and delicious and not too big like some places. Great Burgers, great price, my new favorite!

We went to Brgr recently and are dying to go back. My husband and I are huge burger fans, so we couldn't wait to try this new place. We also took our toddler son, who was warmly welcomed. We thought the burgers were FABULOUS. They had plenty of meat (enough to satisfy our huge appetites) with a great choice of toppings. They come in a nice, compact wrapper that makes them easy to scarf down (um, eat). There were also fabulous shakes & cookies, and it was nice to see the menu offering of beer and wine. I honestly cannot believe people would complain about the price. It was completely normal and expected for the quality. And the taste was OUTSTANDING!

I am shopping with some friends yesterday in Chelsea and see this restaurant called BRGR and they tell me they had heard how great this place was and that we have to check it out. So, okay I'm not a "burger" person, but I decide to check it out anyway. I walk in and the place is packed. I was really impressed with the vibe and chill atmosphere. There is great variety on the menu, excellent selection. The food Really blew me away! The burgers are mouth watering, juicy and the flavor is so delicious. They have this great onion ring item called onion hay. Even their lemonade is fresh, I ordered a second one. And you must check out their pomegranate blueberry shake. Best I ever had. I am now a regular there. I have gone back in multiple times and for those of you who don't prefer beef, (you will change your mind!) but just in case you want something different you can also check out their turkey burgers. (Seriously, when has a turkey burger been as good as the hamburger? At this place it is!!) I promise you will definitely be sold! I live uptown, and I told the manager (who also happened to be very hospitable) that they need to open up more of these in the city! Until then, I will continue to make my trip down to BRGR..

yum. Just went to Brgr tonight. I think i might have to go back tomorrow.
My friend lives a couple of blocks from this place and wanted to check it out because there
s been a line around the corner since it opened and blah blah blah. ohhhh my. lines for a good reason. This is the best burger i've had in nyc in so long i can't remember. PERFECT RATIO of meat to burger to toppings. i was in heaven. Mushy tasty goodness. Their set combos (on beef, turkey, or veggie patties) are interesting for sure - but also you can select your own combo from a perfect list of really great gourmet ingredients (gourmet but not too tricky). I got fresh chopped onion AND onion marmalade - (i like onions) and various other things (of course cheeeeese). yummy tasty sloppiness but the burger (i got beef) was cooked perfectly and had a chargrilled sweetness somehow.
i just read some reviews and can't believe peoplle are complaining about getting an amazing meal with fresh artisanal ingredients for less than $15. Are you crazy? this is gourmet. Go back to pizza hut - you'll just help make the line shorter so i can get my burger faster. this is out of your league! but seriously, i am really fired up about this place.
hope you like it as much as i do!!! it's a great addition to the great nyc restaurant scene. I hope they pop up all over the place so there's one near my office soon.

I was so excited when I heard that a burger place was opening near my office. This place so exceeded my expectations. Everything about it is perfect. Everybody is very nice and helpful. The place is so cozy. I was really upset I had to go back to work. I wanted to sit there for hours. The burger was so flavorful and yummy! And the next time i went in, I got a turkey burger which was to die for. Not to mention the best onion rings I have ever eaten in my life. This place evens has the BEST cookies in the world! This is going to be my regular joint. The only question I have is "when are more opening"????!!

BRGR is just a block from my apt and my stomach jumped excitement and anticipation everytime I passed it. I tried it out tonight and unfortunately report it was just a really bad experience all the way around. $8.50 for the cheddar burger - and 'no that does not come with fries". My total bill was $14 for burger, fries, and soda - a bit of a sticker shock but I was really hoping to satisfy my stomach's curiousity and high anticipation. My oh so thin burger patty was more on the TarTar side than the Rare/Medium Rare side, and when I emptied the sweet potatoe fries on my tray, they were followed by more than a few drops of grease. I stared at the middle of my raw brgr with much contemplation before bringing the order back to the cashier and requesting my money back. I've respectfully sent food back to a kitchen for a "try it again", but this was beyond 'fixing'. I took the manager's refund and "Sorry about that" to Better Burger. It may have been new restaurant kinks - I'm willing to give it another try in 6 mos. Good concept and it could be a great burger joint.

Cons: Less burger for the buck - cooks need to work out some kinks

As a burger lover I've been happy to see a few newcomers opening recently. I was excited to try BURGR and that feeling quickly disappeared after tasting the standard cheeseburger. The patty is so thin it's no surprise that they say that they normally cook their burgers medium-well. It's hard to cook a thin wedge of meat to medium rare. That aside, the meat was so flavorless I don't think that adjusting the cooking temperature would have helped. Even worse than the burger were the fries. My russet potato fries arrived dark brown and soggy. I kept thinking they must be sweet potato fries from their color, but that wasn't the case. They were so oily that that they stuck together in one big bundle. The highlight of the meal was the vanilla shake, which was good but nothing special. Overall I was totally disappointed. Burger lovers beware - BURGR isn't in the same league as the Burger Joint at the Parker Meridien or the newcomer BLT Burger.

I just left "BRGR" which is two blocks down the street from my office and I was so impressed with the food, atmosphere and overall style that place has that I had to write a review. I had a burger with american cheese and fried egg with a side of onion fries. So it was $12 who cares, it was well worth it. As I;m sitting there enjoying one of the best burgers i've eaten in a long time, i see the girl behind the counter making milkshakes, even though I was stuffed from the bruger I had to try one and it was just as good as the burger!!! I'll definitely be a regular in this place. If you haven't tried it yet go for I guarantee you'll be back!

if i could think of a word that was 100 times stronger than overpriced, i'd certainly use it...they are clearly trying to recoup the renovation costs, because the space is great...but the food is EXTREMELY mediocre...a friend and i visited recently: i had a measly turkey burger with cheese, pickles & "brgr sauce", the onion hay and a lemonade; my friend had a measly beef burger with cheese, pickles and nothing else special, sweet potato fries and a lemonade...OUR BILL WAS $28!! and we were still hungry after...and they evidently dont believe in forks...and i have to agree with reviewer #1 about the music being terrible...and extremely loud to boot...i'd definitely go to in-n-out any day before this place...hell, i'd go to johnny rocket's before i'd go back here again...they need to seriously step up their game...oh, but the lemonade was very yummy!

Cons: the food...overpriced

this place is a fast-food burger joint that is charging high-end prices. the food is fine- but it is still small little burgers, wrapped in paper for TEN DOLLARS- and that does not include anything- fries are $2.50 extra. a shake? SIX DOLLARS. your food is served on a plastic tray just like the west-coast in-and-out burger... but those are $3 not $10. and if you want extra patties? $5 extra for 2 patties. unbelievable.
it is really over-priced and the music is laughably bad-- abba to bon jovi to hall and oats to elton john in 1 sitting.
did I mention the prices?
