I love the food at this place - it's always fresh, tastes great, and you get huge portions. I love their shrimp cocktail . The service is great - they always come around to see if you need anything. If you order from them they always provide bread and other extra items with your order.

Lunch at the Morgan Dining Room was a truly special experience, from the warm greeting of the host to the understated decor of the room to the professional service of the staff and of course the tasty food. I loved the ambiance and all the details of the plates and cutlery, the paint color on the wall, the low couches, the salt cellar, the fresh fresh raspberries on the raspberry lime rickey. The bread was very fresh and delicious. The menu read very well with consize options that pleased everyone. I especially liked the chicken fricassee. My colleagues raved about the special salad, the swiss chard tart, and of course the lobster salad. What's even better is that it was so reasonably priced. I cannot wait to go back and perhaps try the more casual Morgan Cafe and definitely the dinner on Friday night. I have my eye on that beef wellington.

Pros: Ambiance, Food, Service

Cons: Can get loud

Based on two dinners, TMDR delivers a wonderful overall experience. The menu is brief but sufficiently varied and well chosen. The daily specials are recited without the chi-chi pomposity that gets eyes rolling in so many other places. The execution and presentation have been flawless. The short wine list is more than adequate and there is an ample choice of wines by the glass. The service is polite and professional. All that amidst the wonderful architecture and exhibits of one of New York's finest intimate museums... not to be missed.
PS: reservartions are a must for the dining room.

I'm so happy the Morgan Dining Room is on Citysearch! At last! I live in the neighborhood and have been to the museum several times for exhibits. I keep going back, though, for the wonderful meals.

What a pleasure to have such enticing food so nearby. Having visited last week, my girlfriends and I enjoyed a wonderful prix fixe of wild rice croquettes and Creole PotPie as the main course. We shared a tasty Swiss Chard tart and the best desserts in Murray Hill. They've also treated me kindly from my very first visit.

I'm bringing more friends back this Friday night for a little live music, tapas, wine and the beautiful setting.
