09/02: Went to Nook and Crannie and bought an antique chair and asked if they could recover the seat as well as add some cushion. I was told I would have to buy cloth; 4x4 and the job would take 2 days. I noticed a gap in the wood on the chair back and asked if anything could be done about it. I was told that they could do something along the lines of pushing the wood together and they??d also shine it up and it would look great by the time they were done. I paid for the chair plus an additional $75 to have the chair recovered and left.

09/04: I went to the fabric store and all the cloth was 5 across so I called Nook and Cranny to ask what length I should buy instead; I was advised to buy 5x4 which I thought looked like a lot but just went with the advice given. I took the cloth to them the same day only for the guy to take the cloth out and say ??wow this is a lot?. I asked if I could have an extra pillow made and was told ??sure?. I was then introduced me to an older gentlemen that would do the recovering. I was told it would be ready the next week.

09/09: Called to find out if the chair was ready. I was told that it was not and that they would need a couple more days because it was just two of them at the store and these things take time (note I was told 2 days originally).

09/11: I received a call from Nook and Crannie around 5pm. I was told that the chair had been completed and that it would be delivered some time after the store closed which is 7pm. Saturday came and went along with the rest of the weekend; no chair.

09/14: I called to find out what happened with the chair I was told: ??You won??t believe what happened; the guy brought it over and spilled something on it, but don??t worry you bought so much cloth we??ll just do it over.? I was at work so I couldn??t say what I really felt so I just asked when it would be ready. Again I got the speech about needing time and it just being 2 of them. I asked if I could have it at latest on Saturday (the 18th) and was told I could and he went on to say how great the chair would look when everything was done.

09/18: I went into the store to find a completely different guy at the desk who knew nothing of the chair and the fact that it was to be delivered on that day. He went to speak with the delivery guy. The delivery guy said yes he had worked on the chair (this was not the older gentleman I was originally introduced to, so apparently it??s a staff of at least 4 and not 2). This new guy proceeds to bring the chair looking exactly the same; crack in the back, no polish at all. The only difference was that it had the fabric I bought, with a big stain on it! I had on a scarf and had to take it off due to the blood rushing to me head. At some point I said; this looks just as bad as when I bought it. The other new guy who knew nothing of the chair then proceeded to lecture me on antique chairs and the charm of the worn parts and how there??s no way to make them look different. I felt like I was in the twilight zone. I explained to him that all I wanted was what his employee promised me and that I should have been told all that before I paid my money and frankly didn??t want to hear it at this point. I wanted to know what was going to be done. He said they??d recover it for me with my extra cloth. I mentioned the pillow that I wanted made and the fact that the cloth cost me $10 per yard. I was told ??well I guess we can give you a store credit or something if you??re so concerned about your $10?. At that point I was so done. I asked when I ??d have the chair and I was told Tuesday (09/21) or at latest Thursday (09/23) and that they??d call me the day before to arrange delivery.

09/23: I have not heard from Nook and Crannie. My chair has not been delivered.
