Tired of the local bar turned trendy or ultra chic lounge? Then check out the Wharf Bar & Grill, an unpretentious place to gather with friends and enjoy good food and drink the way it was always meant to be. The decor is clean and sharp but still has all the character of your favorite neighborhood restaurant and drinking establishment. Wood trim walls are adorned with mounted fish, nautical charts and prints to cast a seafaring look that is both warm and welcoming. Enjoy lunch or dinner outside on the rear deck. The retractable roof allows the deck to remain open year-round, rain or shine. An extensive menu features pub fare, an array of salads and sandwiches, and special items from the grill, including a few fresh seafood selections. Come in after work for happy hour specials; stop by to catch all the games via satellite; or just drop in, relax and enjoy some good times at the Wharf.

Best Bar Food in NYC

by Kaitlin M. | insider Insider | Rank: 13,084

One of the best sports bars in the city. They have lots of TVs and they pull in a great crowd. Always have good drink specials and the food is the best bar food around. Upstairs in the back they have a covered deck that is great in the nice weather. Also don't miss 30 cent wings on Monday nights!

great little bar

by Destiny T. | top100 Top100 | Rank: 48

This place is pretty cool. They have decent drinks at decent prices. The best part is that they play a lot of 80's music. It is a lot less crowded and rowdy then Joshua Tree so you can sit back and just enjoy the music. I like this place a lot.

Rowdy PUB atmosphere

by Bluzman221

I agree with "watchmesparkle" , this is a beer pub. Not for corporate professional happy hour patrons i.e. do not bring contract clients here. The owner must make lots of money on food because they are definitely losing money at the table and bar for alcohol. There were groups of young, loud , rude people standing around talking , watching TV and not spending money. nursing one draft beer for hours.

Pros: location, happy hour prices

Cons: very crowded, under -30 beer drinking, loud patrons

Nice Hang out with GREAT music...

by MrKim

I had a Friday Happy Hour for friends and colleagues and reserved the 2nd floor space with a bar. The staff were very friendly and the food was good, but the best part was the music - the house DJ was excellent!

Pros: Great music

Cons: none

Ideal for Birthday Bashes!

by KellyCal

Search no further! Wharf is the idea place to hold your next party or gathering. Every year I spend hours searching for a spot to throw Bday parties for my friends and this one is the best I have found.

This year (May 28th) I had a Bday party at Wharf for my Hubba. We reserved the upstairs, outside space for 25ish (about 2 months in advance - I spoke with Jim he's very helpful! He even named the day's shot DAVE after my Hubba. How special. Yay!) The party kicked off at 6pm and the space already had reserved signs in place to make sure we did not have to awkwardly ask others to leave. The managers, staff, and bartenders are very attentive and in good spirits! (sometimes rare to find ;) The beer specials and $1 tacos made every guest feel free to indulge and enjoy without money worries. And the space - the space rocked as if we were actually at wharfside. It was our own private paradise of outdoorish bar space and even had a private bar section to belly up to. AND there was no added charge for the area. Amazing and Thank you Wharf. :) Everyone had a blast.

Pros: Party space, atmosphere, unique outdoors, drink specials, attentive staff

Cons: I do not have a con and my expectation levels are taller then myself - so that says a lot

We REALLY enjoy this bar whether it is to meet friends after work , to watch sports ( there are an amazing amount of TV's) or to have a casual celebration - a going away party ...an important birthday. The staff is polite and prompt. The bars are well stocked and staffed. It's always super clean . And the outdoor deck is a great feature come rain, snow or sunshine!

Pros: attentive staff, super clean , 2 big bars and the outside deck

Cons: none

Fun Atmosphere for your typical wood-top bar scene

by watchmesparkle

I wanted to leave a nice review for this place because my co-workers and I go here pretty frequently (we work at an ad agency on the next block) and always enjoy it. I like the atmposphere of the place, its large, I like the wood bar and all that - its a good after work scene. The key lime martini rocks!! This is a good place if you're more of a "beer and pub" person, dig?

Best Bartenders Period!!!!

by manzoni

This place is AMAZING!!! You would have to be crazy not to enjoy the great drink specials, food, and oh wait, the the festive staff!!! Who wouldn't love a bar that you get $3 beers, shots, pints and Naughty Santas for December!!! Yes, I said "Naughty" Santas!! The sexier than ever staff has themed friday nights behind the bar, and really knows how to play up their role while looking great. Not to mention they are hysterical and make sure everyone (male and female) feels included and has FUN during these naughty nights. Even my girlfriends found them to be fun, energetic, and extremely entertaining!! From costumes, to props, to dances, to "stories", who wouldnt want to be involved in this naughty mascarade?

Not to mention this place is the best kept secret for football sundays!!! There is a heated back deck that has several tv's, a great refreshing non New York feel, and an absolutely hilarious and hot bartender!!! It's my favorite spot to watch Pitt games. And if your team isn't doing so well, or you're tired and hung over, don't worry... the bartenders will entertain you! Great spot!!!! My favorite bar far in Murry Hill!!

Pros: Fun Staff, Drink specials, Deck, great food

Cons: it should be costume night every night!!! You should see these girls!!!

Food eh, everything else, YEAH!

by drink_club1

Our waitress Samantha was incredibly great, attentive, friendly, always ready with a story and a smile. Tolerant of our peculiarities, much more than a normal person would be. She was always there when we needed her. The place is big, with a fine back yard that started out a bit too full of loud-jocks, but soon became friendlier than a loss Vegas Chicken Ranch. Our next table neighbors, from Slovenia, were especially nice to us. The food was plentiful, if not spectacular. The variety of types of space (inside sportsbar, outside more relaxed and... er... human) makes this a great place to spend a night drinking. --Drink Club is a roving group of NYC Drinkers

Pros: great staff, mostly great clientele, choice of atmosphere

Cons: so so food, a few loud jocks

Great Bar, Great Brew, Great Scenery!!!!!

by jr4192

Kind of stumbled upon this Bar, but found it to be a true 'Diamond in the Rough'. Very comfortable w/ great prices. So nice, we went back twice! Wharf serves food until 2am, and it was terrific, Great Reuben!! Yeungling & Wharf are $3.50/pint, everyday. Needless to say, our group had several. Waitstaff and Bartenders take care of the customers very well. One Bartender in particular, knew what I wanted before I ordered, and I wasn't even sitting at the bar!! Not to mention, how should I put this, she was extremely attractive!! If your on 3rd Ave, don't miss The Wharf!!!

Pros: Beer Prices, Jukebox, Service

Cons: NONE!!

Nice, lively neighborhood bar

by qtgurljny

The wharf is a good choice for staying local and having a few drinks and nibbles. The munchies are good and the beers and everything else are priced well. Staff is great and it's not as packed as some more known (but not as nice) places in the neighborhood. There are daily specials which usually include $3.50 happy hour beers.
