the newest location of the world famous flight club. the widest selection of vintage, limited edition, and hard to find sneakers in new york and the united states, including air jordans, nike, adidas, bape, new balance, reebok, puma, visvim, vans, etc.

Editorial by Citysearch

In Short
Crowds of mostly male sneaker enthusiasts squeeze into this narrow shop, browsing through the kaleidoscopic collection of limited edition and vintage sneakers, their patron saint Michael Jordan looking on from collaged wallpaper. While there is a small collection of other brands such as A Bathing Ape and Reebok, it's all about the swoosh here. From plaid high-tops to vintage Air Jordans, this store's extensive Nike collection runs the full gamut of colors and styles.

Key Points

  • air jordans
  • everything nike
  • 80-20 sneaker consignment

The Inside Scoop

  1. Know Before You Go - Bring in unworn or lightly worn shoes into the store and receive 80 percent of your sale price after the shoes are sold.
  2. The Extras - Check out the glass case near the back of the store, where the creme de la creme of the store's shoe collection will cost you almost a month's rent.

Best Selection, Bad Prices

by midnitmarauder

Flight club has an amazing selection and definitely has the rarest Nikes you will find since they work with consignment. They have a lot of vintage Jordans and dunks which you will not find in other stores. However, the prices are VERY high. Trust me on this, I have been collecting sneakers for 6 years. For example, a pair of Air Joran 3's white/cement from 2003 will cost around $500-550 at Flight Club, when they sell for around $300 on ebay. Collectible sneakers usually have an approximate "market value" Flight Club almost always charges more than this value. Just go ahead and compare the price you see on the flightclub website to the price for the same sneaker on ebay or any other store if it's a new release. If you aren't familiar with where to obtain rare sneakers in other places, then I suppose flight club is fine for you, but keep in mind that you're overpaying by a good 20% when you shop there. Other than the prices, the staff is helpful and the selection is pretty amazing to look at, so I can't give it an overall bad review. The store is actually quite impressive.

Pros: Best selection of sneakers in NYC

Cons: Too expensive even from a sneaker collector's perspective

Waste of Time, Forget About It!!!

by badger4

They don't care, they don't have to? My teeners were desperate to go see and "buy" Before leaving for our flight we took a $25.00 cab ride to the store only to find out they were not open. We called and there was no info on hours, days, etc.. We peered thru the steel gate and watched as they stacked shoes, laughed at us thru the glass and screen and disappeared. So, we went to Ground Zero and quick lunch. We arrived at 11:15 and were still waiting at 12:30..still not open. People would gather than leave, we waited. The gate would come up and down and they would not talk to us. Too busy, busy for what, to sell shoes? They sell new Nike sneakers at 5x's the price. Vintage, not really. My kids bought Nike Peacocks for $80.00 (with money earned as a grocery bag boy) their choice, they were for sale there for over $300.00. They will be out of businees long before Nike. Skip the flight club and just go your local shoe store and get your Nike sneaks!! Flight Club has alot to learn about sales and customers
.

Pros: None

Cons: Hard to Find, Rude Sales staff, No hours or times on phone, Unmarked Door

THE IT SNEAKER SHOPPE

by docinprogress

The shop has reinvented "the sneaker" image and provides a good atmosphere for collectors and just customers alike!!! The ambiance is the unusual familiar type where you feel like you have gone back to the sneaker shoppes from the 80s with current SNEAKS.

Definitely recommended... for those who just want a pair of decent sneaks to the all time collector...YOU WANT IT, THEY HAVE IT!!!

Pros: If they dont have it, they will tell you where to get it...

Nike Nirvana

by sladewilson2002

You want to find those beloved pair of Nike Air Force Ones you had a while back? You want a new style for your Nikes now? Whatever it is, if it's about Nike, old or new - here's the place. The creme de la creme. There is simply no better sneaker store around for what you need concerning Nikes or even personalizing your kicks. It's a must to go and at least check it out.

Pros: Variety, knowledgable staff, great service

Cons: Price can be steep for specialized or limited editions

chicken soup for the sole

by soledout

first off, this has to be the best sneaker store in the world!!! i have never walked in2 any other store and had such a difficult time trying to decide which of the hundreds of pairs they had that i wanted. usually, i an walk in pick a pair or 2 and say let me get that. everytime i go into this store i get caught up trying to figure which of the 10 pairs i really want to take home this day.......I would definitely advise anyone who considers them selves a true " sneakerhead" or not, to definitely visit flight club and take a trip down memry lane, all the jordans you ever wanted but were to young to afford or your parents just couldn't keep up with them are in this one store!!!!! 5 starts in my opinion.
