the place has great food for a bar and the crowd is very nice and friendly the ownrts who are usually there great you with a smile and a handshake. would rate the burger as one of the best in ny. and the steak sandwich is awesome.

This place had great burgers and the staff was really friendly plus they have live music on certain nights. What more could you ask for? I am going to go back for happy hour and bring people from work with me next time.

A popular after Work bar offering Billiards, a Fireplace, a space for private parties and downstairs a little stage where Celtic musicians play traditional music on weekends. If you are not into playing pool, be sure to dine in the back glass-enclosed room. It is reallty good looking and has a great atmosphere and decent food.

overall I had a very nice experience at blackstones. great atmosphere, very well prepared quality food (definately exceeded my expectations as far as bar food goes), all bartenders were lively and pleasant, theres pleanty of room, things to watch, and things to do (pool, darts....)...I would recommend checking it out if your in the area....

I went to Blackstone?s last night after work with co-workers, to relax and have a good time. We had all been before, and it?s a great low-key after-work drink spot. I was ready for a nice night with friends, or so I thought? after one drink, my friends and I went outside for a moment, when one of the bouncers asked me, ?are you pregnant?? not only did he ask once, but twice. I have never been so offended in my life. Besides the fact that he?s a total idiot because what would I be doing drinking in bar if I really was pregnant? We left immediately and I will never go back. Do not waste your time or money on this place.

A great restaurant with high prices. The sliced steak will cost around $15.00 for lunch and that is one of the less expensive entrees. The service is great and if you are going for a business meeting, you won't be disappointed.

This is my first time writing a review. So please bear with me. I found this place on this website and I went on a date there. Not only was the place great their music was good and the people were friendly. The bar tender remembered our names and was very polite. She was great, she kept our drinks coming and always asked if we needed anything. I'm going back, this time I might try the pool tables.

I have never really felt the need to write a review before. I think it's sad that just getting good service warrants a review but I have to write about this. I went to Blackstones on a Monday night expecting it to be on the slower side but there was a decent crowd. The cocktail server was great and seemed way too happy. When we asked her why she said she had no reason to be unhappy. Then the reason came or at least my boyfriend and I thought so. We watched a very snotty couple sit down next to us, nothing was right with them from the start but the server just kept smiling and being polite. I almost said something to the couple but my boyfriend gave me that look that meant stay out of it. We ate our hamburgers and my boyfriend stared at the TV over my head, very annoying but had a pleasant time anyway. The food was good (the english muffing bun was odd but we really liked it) but what most impressed us again was the service. We never needed anything and when my boyfriend went to the bar the server came over to make sure there wasn't anything we needed, he just wanted the channel changed which the bartender happily did. After the nasty couple left I asked the server how she kept her cool. She just said being nasty wouldn't have helped and maybe they were just having a bad day.
There are many bars out there but we will definately become regulars here. The TV's with all the sports was great for my boyfriend and just going to a bar that doesn't give attitude seems rare these days. Everyone seemed to know eachother there. It was the friendlest place I've been to in ages!!!

Best bar food ever, period. Friendly wait staff. Plenty of tvs to watch the big game on. Be it after work or a lazy weekend day I highly recommend this bar!!!

Blackstone's is a nice enough place, but it is just another of a million bars like it in NYC and every other city in this country. Wooden accents, pool table, cold beer and a martini. Upstairs private party space. Nice people, but going here as a special destination? No, that's not the kind of place it is.

The Blackstone Burger is very good. It was a little strange to eat a cheesburger on an english muffin, but I must say it was still tasty. In fact the muffin doesn't fall apart like a cheap hamburger bun does. The onion rings were also great. The bar was clean and very nice. The service was great as well. I look forward to coming back.

Great atmosphere, food, service and of course, beer. My friends and I have been to happy hour, late night dining (the sliders and shrimp wrapped with bacon is a must try) and friday night in the back room. Always a good time with lots of fun. Recently been to a private party in the downstairs room. Service and food were AWESOME!!!

I hardly give reviews on any place, in fact this is my first one. Being in sales, I eat out often. One day last week I had to meet a client on 53rd and 1st in the city. After a great sales meeting, we decided to got some drinks and food, I suggested a great a little spot on 47th, and my new client said that there is a place on 55th that he has been wanting to try out for some time now. I agreed and, couldn't be any happier. The service was prompt, the food was perfect (I had shrimp wrapped in bacon w/ BBQ saurce), The bar tender ,Steve, was very conversational ( I disagree with the fact that he thinks Colts are gonna win the Super Bowl), but none the less, I found a new place to eat when in Manhattan. In Fact, I'll be there this weekend with my wife, she said said she wants to pass by and try it out. LETS GO BEARS!!!

I will just say the facts and you can decide whether it's a good place or not.

- Waited 10 minutes for waitress after sitting before giving up and getting menus and beers from the bar. Upon seeing us get our own menus, waitress said, "Oh, sorry. Guess I should look to see if there was anyone at the other tables."
-My order allegedly came with bacon. Not on the one I got.
- My guest ordered bacon on her turkey burger. Nope. Forgot to put it on.
- Waitress twice brought out extra meals in addition to what we ordered, apparently thinking that two average-sized people are eating for five.
- Waitress asked if we wanted a second round of beer, then forgot to bring it.
- Waitress then told us, one of several dubious mea culpas, that "Since the bartender forgot, I forgot."

That's all I can remember. I know there are more. To her credit, the waitress did not stab myself or my guest in the eye with a fork nor bring over any living animal on our plate. Short of that, I'm not sure how our service experience could be any worse.

I went to Blackstones last weekend and had a great time. The food was excellent but I especially liked the "Pigs in a blanket". Nothing is as good as watching a game and eating some great food. If you want a bar to go to and hang out and have a lot of fun then this is the place. All the staff are very good and the management are extremely nice too. All in all a great bar!

I went there on a Saturday and it was pretty slow, but the food was great! Seriously the best veggie burger I have ever tasted and I order them often. My bofriend, a regular carnivor, liked it even more than their beef burgers, and he usually hates veggie burgers.

We had our annual Christmas party here last week. GREAT TIME. Back room had a nice holiday feeling.
food / atmosphere / service all top notch.
Even after the party we were able to continue our good time at the bar up front.

The place was narrow, with a harried-but-friendly waitress who was really eager, but had much more work than she should have. I wouldn't have gotten the beers right either! The bar let us make the most of the limited space. We pushed tables together, rearranged the furniture, got into the middle of a pool game. It was all taken in stride-- except for one visit by a worried bar-owner when he saw us taking pictures. He ended up being our photographer! We had a huge group, but the waitress didn't even add in her tip. She trusted us! No problems, no complaints! --Drink Club is a roving group of NYC drinkers

It's newly remodeled, CLEAN; The foods great - I recommend the Burgers & Wings. The taps are Ice Cold and Clean - no skunk beer here. The Guiness is fresh & great.

Wait staff is friendly, helpful & attractive. Mgrs, & Owners are always present & keep things running smooth.

Stopped in here on a friday for a quick one, place was buzzing, ended up there for a few hours at least, called a few friends and made it a party. Sat down for a quick bit to eat, ended up having a great meal, always a welcome surprise, food was excellent, with excellent service to boot.
Will be going back for sure!!

I have been going to Blackstones ever since the first day it opened, and RARELY leave. I went to the bar before there were any changes made, and the renovations that have taken place are AMAZING! The place has a new, welcoming feel. The atrium in the back is awesome, whether it's a private party, a guitarist, or an Irish fiddler, it's cool to go back and drink! The food on the menu is 5 STAR, the chef is an incredible cook. Sometimes you're just in the mood for some finger/snack food, sometimes up for a meal, whatever it is and whatever you order, it hits the spot. The staff is the most personable that I have seen in ANY bar, and I've been to a lot of pubs in the area (keeps me going back). The best part (if you play pool) is that there are 2 pool tables, unlike only one, or none, in some pubs. It doesn't matter if you live in Jersey, the Bronx, even in another city or state, this is the place you HAVE to stop by and check out, I mean, would it hurt you to stop by and have a few beers and a burger? Well, maybe if you're driving or have high cholesterol, but that's just worst-case scenario...I'd take my chances.

This is the absolute bestest hamburger I have ever had. In fact the entire staff is incredible. Such a warm and welcoming place. I am so happy to have found it. It is worth the trip fron NJ. Yes it is REALLY that good. We are never disappointed.

Awsome time. This place has the old fashion feel and all you want for a 20th century bar. The juke box is awsome, with some 125,000 songs to choose. After happy hour we venterend into the back room and saw Tony T an Irish fiddler who is an Itialian from Brooklyn, but played like a world class musician.

A must place to go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've been drinking at this bar for years when it was called Jimmy Walkers, now it has been taken over it has transformed into the best bar in NYC. All of the staff and owners are really great and friendly. The crowd is a fun crowd, not old and certanly not too young. There are plasma TV's all over the place so it's a great place to watch sports but it isn't a sports bar so you don't have to put up with loud and crazy sports fans. The two pool tables are in great shape, probably the best in the city, the level of play is high here so make sure you bring your big stick game if you want to play! All in all a great bar with a fantastic juke box, clasic rock only!

p.s. Did I say the burgers are the best in New York

I've been to Blackstones several times over the last few months. This place really has it all. It has the best of what you would want in a bar. The food is outstanding and the service is right there. It is a must for any type of night you might be looking for. Enjoy and visit often.

I've been to Blacsktones several times over the last few months and this place has it all.
The food is oustanding as is the service. It just has a real nice feel about it. Any type of night you might be looking for in the city should start or end with Blackstones. Enjoy it and visit often. I know I will.

We were looking for a night out in the city and stumbled on Blackstones. The atmosphere was outstanding and the staff were all happy and very attentive. The flat screens were everywhere. You could comfortably watch the games from any part of the bar. The back room, which is a greenhouse with a fire place, had that lodge feel to it. Then the one man band GREG PAR played and it was fantastic.

A must see!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We will be back soon.

This is a great little pub and restaurant that has really good food for lunch and happy hour and a cool back area that gets pretty packed on weekends. The bar staff is extremely friendly, and I've never had to wait long for a drink, even if the bar was crowded.

Blackstone's is a great little pub that is actually a lot bigger than it seems. In addition to the main bar and dining area, there is a really cool back beer garden that is enclosed but still feels like you're outside. The bar gets pretty crowded on weekends and is always a good time.

A couple of weeks ago 30 of my friends and me stopped in at Blackstones. This place is the best! Needless to say we stayed till closing that night! Excellent food, service, drink, and time!!!!!!!

Been up and down the East side and this place had hands-down the best burger around. It was huge and cooked just the way I asked. I don't know what it was but meat was awsome and on the English Muffin was great. I was stuffed. Even had the Sliders (mini burgers) there once and they were as good. I never write things up but felt I had to because this was THAT good.

Great Burgers, Great happy hour. We've been coming there on almost every friday after work since the start of the summer and we usually just stay there all night, it's that fun. Even though the bar gets crowded, we never have to wait long for the drinks and the food is awesome!

I just moved to the area right above blackstone's and I have been going there for happy hour after work. It's a really great atmosphere. The bar staff is really friendly and the food is awesome. Apparantly they are known for their burgers. I'm not surprised because they are really good.
Some friends came in from out of town last weekend and we had a blast there saturday night. Definitely a must.

We came here for happy hour a couple of weeks ago and had a blast and the food was awesome. We all had burgers - awesome!

We just went back last weekend on friday night and had an awesome time. It was a really good time and there were a ton of young people were there. Definitely a must if you live in midtown or really anywhere in manhattan or anywhere in the tri state area for that matter.

Blackstones has some of the best food, especially their hamburgers!!! It also has a great atmosphere where you and some friends can go and relax after a hard day of work. I highly recommend that if you're ever on 55th Street, that you make a visit to Blackstones. If you want a tasty burger, then make your way to Blackstones.

Blackstones has a touch of the old pub feel. Hang out in the newly renovated back room in the day or evening. The room has a windowed ceiling, fireplace, and a flat screen TV. It is great place to just get together with friends or for a private party. Enjoy great food, cold beer, and good tunes. If this interests you, Blackstones is the perfect place for you! Blackstone's Hands Down has the best burgers in the city! Go there for lunch and get an awesome meal or go for happy hour or a later at night. It's always a great time. The bar stuff is extremely friendly and you never have to wait for a beer even though the bar can get very crowded. I've also watched a few world cup games here. They have a bunch of huge flat screens.

I rented the beautiful backroom for my NCAA party. I had 25 people. They had the fireplace going and with 3 big flat screens T.V's, it was great. The service was fantastic. Highly Recommended.

Super impressive relaxing atmosphere. It has an aesthetic of an old Irish pub, but all the amenities of a full-service bar and grill. Flat-screens on every wall showing various games, pool tables and more.

Friendly and courteous staff; Mike is the Man!! We enjoyed really good bar food and a great happy hour. High quality food and service that wont leave you penniless at the end of the night.
