Maki cut and colored my hair incl. 5-process hair treatment, which took about 3 hrs in total.

What I liked about her most was that she listened to me well and was paying careful attention if I am not tired or the hair colorant was not irritating. I have not met such a nice hair stylist even in Japan. Of course, her cut technique is professional.

The other thing to mention was that the salon atmosphere was relaxing. It was important to me.

I rate this salon 3 stars because I visited there only once. If I have the same nice experience, I will rate it 4 stars.

About the prices, I guess it is average but for me, it seems higher.

Anyway, this salon is worth to try.

Cons: Could wish cheaper

Was there twice. Switched the stylist but that didn't help. They just don't listen to you. Overrated, expensive, and not the place I will be coming back.

Last Year in Tokyo I was amazed to see how stylish the people are. Therefore when my usual stylist moved to another neighborhood, I decided to check into Wave 55. I walked out a new person, I had never found the right haircut for me and here I am, fifty-ish and looking better than ever. I never liked how my hair is growing and this time I realize it has been 6 weeks and I still look rather good. It's time for a new haircut and I can't wait. The guy who worked on my hair was freshly arrived from Kyoto, he did a fantastic job. I believe Japanese stylists have an impeccable training. To look so good at a decent price is the best deal , and if I have to give a tip: when they ask what you want, just tell them that you trust them to do the best, they will.

The best Japanese straightening in the tri-state area by far! A bit pricey, but worth E V E R Y penny. I've never received so many compliments on my hair in my life! Don't settle, get the best. Ryo works magic!

I read a few of the reviews and am confused: How is $65 expensive for a haircut? I used to go to salons where cuts were $200 and up, and this salon gives the same quality cut. The stylists are from Japan, mostly from Tokyo. In case some of you don't know this, the Japanese, in particular those from Tokyo, are at the cutting edge of fashion. The Japanese are very demanding when it comes to hair salons, and that is the reason I decided to try them (even though I am not Japanese or Asian). These stylists know how to do high fashion hair.

Manhattan prices. I can get it for less. The workers were very friendly. I would go back again. Great neighborhood to window shop or just kill time while you're waiting for your appointment.
