I have been a client of Irene for the past 6 years. I met her even before she had her salon. The first time I want to see her, she gave me the best cut I ever got.. I got so many compliements about my hair style. She is amazing! I LOVE

this is the first review I have ever bothered to write in my life, and I wish negative-five-stars was an option,... that this place is still in business is appalling:
i first went there when they opened a few years ago because it was cheap and around the corner- the owner irene gave me two ok haircuts, but after the 2nd haircut she told me, "it takes too long to cut your hair, so next time you have to see one of my assistants". When i came back and saw said assistant, it was as though my 1yo toddler had cut my hair. After he had so grotesquely destroyed my hair beyond repair, he somewhat acknowledged his debaucle and said, "maybe my colleague can fix it up a bit"- needless to say that just made it even shorter, and i walked out looking more frightful than you can imagine. 4 years later i thought I `d give Irene another try since it`s so conveniently located and i`m so short on time. She asked what I wanted and i explained very simply in about 10 words. She responded, "i don`t understand. i can`t do that". So i explained again using even fewer words, "layers, and inch off the bottom, shorter layers in the back"- again she responded, "what? i don`t understand. I can`t do that". she persisted for a while that she "couldn`t do that", because she wasn`t "feeling it", that she "only gives traditional hair cuts", and finally she suggested again, "you should let my assistant do it"!!. At this point she was the last person I trusted to cut my hair, so I got my jacket to leave. She again tried, "you should let my assistant cut your hair", at which point I finally recounted to her the debaucle from 4 years ago, and explained I wanted my hair cut by her and had an appointment with her, and that I was quite surprised she`d push away business like that (the place was completely empty)- she continued, "she gives great haircuts," so I asked, "you`re the owner of the salon, but you`re telling me she gives better haircuts than you do??....", and finally I walked out. This business is clearly a hobby for her, as there`s no possibility that it`s financially sustainable with their limited abilities and Irene`s consistently obnoxious behavior,...

I think this place is relatively not expensive comparing to the quality of the stylist, however, they should change their way to greet people when walking in and overall when answering the phone.
At the end of the day, I don't go there to get treated like a princess, so as long as I like what she does to my hair (and my wallet likes it too), I will go back there!

I love the new team the hairstylist and the bosses are so attentionned , since 2 hairstylists left and Almona the receptionist inclued (maker trouble!). I really like to go at this place ask for Abdel he is genius !!!!!

I went to do my color and Haircut by the owner!! She is so talented she made me fell like another women !! I was really HAPPY !! I truly recommend this place and ask for a special shampoo ! Violet she does wonderful massage

I went as a walk-in for the first time. One man was busy with a customer so I went to the other lady in the back, who told me it would cost $26 for a blowdry. When I went to pay, the man proceeded to charge me $31. When I asked why, he said I had taken up someone else's appointment - the lady who did my hair had another appointment. WTF? How am I supposed to know that as a first time walk-in...he said I should have waited for him? Since when are customers expected to manage schedules? His employee - the lady stylist should have told me to wait...Anyways, I am never going back there. They didn't do a good job anyways - the hair were too static. Seriously though, I couldn't believe how the guy yelled at me for no reason...not a way to do business in today's world.

When you walk into any business the first person you speak to or come in contact with is "THE FACE" of your business. I believe your business depends on having an exceptionally trained staff. When I spoke to the receptionist at IRENE L. SALON I felt as though she had no interest in answering questions or being helpful.
As a business owner I would take this review as constructive criticism and focus on adjusting any mistakes made by personnel.

When you walk into any business the first person you speak to or come in contact with is "THE FACE" of your business. I believe your business depends on having an exceptionally trained staff. When I spoke to the receptionist at IRENE L. SALON I felt as though she had no interest in answering questions or being helpful.
As a business owner I would take this review as constructive criticism and focus on adjusting any mistakes made by personnel.

Pros: Never actually stepped into the salon, and I probably never will.

Cons: I dont know thr skill level but the friendlyness was below par.

I had been going to Gaetano at Dmonique for the last 4 years, so when he moved to Irenes, I decided I would be following him there. A good friend initially recommended him. Let me just tell you that he is a great colorist and listener. He is professional and has plenty of recommendations. I never had my hair highlighted before and he convinced me it would be a great choice. Now, strangers complement me about my hair. I love it! The salon is sort of a staple of the neighborhood. The owner, Irene is friendly and so are the staff.
