Cooper & Cooper was such a blessing. Jordan Cooper (one of the principals) contacted me himself in order to set up an appointment and really took the time to understand my needs, requirements, and deadline. Even though we were moving in

It was pleasure to work with Mr. Kirk Hanaway of Cooper and Cooper Real Estate while looking for a new apartment in New York City. Kirk was well prepared with a number of properties set up for viewing on arrival. He took us to apartments

So its that time again...time to upgrade to another apartment because my found-in-a-week studio in Upper West Side is getting a little cramped to be a live in and work in all in one.

I had to yelp about Cooper & Cooper, because I had noticed a few properties in NYC that looked very promising based on their online listings. Let's just say that is not the case when getting there.

The listed "fully remodeled" One Bedroom+den was actually a Studio with a closet-sized room next to the bathroom. Also only the livingroom (conveniently one of the only interior rooms pictured) was remodeled, while the kitchen and bathrooms were definitely circa 1930. I mean, they still had a Fridge that was smaller then the one in my dorm....which must have been the fridge they said was included, because it was not-so-much there

The others were equally hyped with "renovations" and dishwashers listed, that didn't actually exist. Two of the properties were still undergoing remodeling as they were trying to lease them as asap rentals.

Now I understand every agent/broker fluffs a little bit, and this is to be expected, but full rooms and appliances missing...no longer fluff, kind of like lies people.

The agent herself didn't say a lot and seemed pleasant but knowing of the shortcomings.

*Ugh* I thought NY would be so much easier than LA to find a good apt! If you have any names of great realtors or management companies out there, would love to hear them!

I called a number of places early on in my apartment search, and after having already spoken with a several realtors that couldn't accommodate my busy work schedule/ that were just plain sketchy, I found Cooper and Cooper online. I got a call back the same day I left the message--they were articulate, knowledgeable and actually *surprise* willing to work with my schedule and our price range! (They were also incredibly professional, a trait I found prominently lacking with competing real estate companies.)

Our agent, Jim, was straightforward and bent over backward to help us, from finding the place to helping us secure it. He figured out exactly what we wanted quite immediately for lack of a better term, (we found it the first evening.) He really does everything in his power to make his client happy.

Our building is awesome-we couldn't ask for better. A brownstone one block from Central Park West and Lincoln Center. Huge two bedroom. Huge closets, bedrooms and kitchen. Did I mention the dishwasher? Even with all of our furniture in it, it still reminds me of a museum--and the rent is a steal. Reasonable for ANY area much less our prime location!

Bottom line: They work hard for you. Unlike other companies, they will not pressure or rip you off. They will find you exactly what you are looking for and will get the best deal possible.
