-They dont allow flats in the club (they will throw them out, and you cant put them in coat check).
-The second floor "VIP" was empty
- Security guards stand in the front and stare you down as if to scare you.
-they DO NOT LET BLACK PPL in the club!!!!!!!!!!! they turned away my black friends and said everyone else was welcomed.
- we stood and watched while they let in skanky spanish, and white girls who wasn't well dressed but turned my friends who looked very fashionable in
- We watched them turn away 5 DIFFERENT GROUPS OF BLACK PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
AND WHEN I WENT UPSTAIRS TO GATHER MY STUFF TO LEAVE I SEARCHED THE CLUB FOR ANYONE DARKER THEN A CARAMEL COMPLEXION...... NOTHING!

Bouncer was EXTREMELY rude and initially wouldn't let me and my friend in because we were "too, too casual" and not appropriately dressed..he was extremely rude and condescending..we were both wearing heels, dress tops and no jeans yet were too casual, when guys inside were wearing HOODIES with dirty t's, jeans and sneakers.
Basically, the dress code for a woman is to dress as slutty as possible, unless you look a model...and there are 2 lines, as someone else mentioned...1 for regular people and 1 for the women with the skin tight dresses barely covering them..
Music was NOT that great, so save your money and time and go someplace else.

I gave it 1 star only because you have to rate it something!!!

I understand wanting an exclusive clientele, but then you should say this club is for hookers and pimps only...do not pretend you are selecting a refined crowd
I party in NYC and for that matter all over the world and I have NEVER had an issue getting into a club based on what i'm wearing NEVER!!!
I can't get in with my $100 "flats" but if you have on a cheap tube dress and striper heels they hold the door open.

I am very happy I am NOT their "type" and I would NEVER even think of going back not even if they were paying people to go in.

The service and treatment at the door was HORRIBLE!!!

Last night my friends and I went out for a girls night on the town. One of my group suggested Talay. When we got there, valet was $20. That should have been a suggestion to run but we paid on got on line. After waiting for about 10 - 15 minutes, one bouncer checked our ID's as we approached the front of the line. I noticed that the owner quickly walked over and said something to the bouncer at the head of the line. This bouncer turned to two ladies, dressed very nicely and told them that if they didn't have a reservation, they couldn't get in. Usually, bouncers tell everyone on line if that is the situation but in this case, he only told them. Next he told the young man in front of us that he needed to wear a jacket. He stated, "go get a jacket, then you can come back." This guy looked like he was going to hang out, jeans, tee shirt, sneakers. HUH?? A jacket was going to make that better? When he got to us, he walked past me, went right over to one of my friends to tell her she couldn't get in because she had on flip flops (she had on sandals not flip flops). Her sister he would not let in because she had on flats and he said the same to my sister in law and her sister. He looked me up and down and didn't say anything (I had on dark denim, a nice dressy tank and wedged heels). He turned to the 4 of them and said again, "I can not let you in with sandals and flats, we have a dress code to uphold." Now, all the girls were wearing the latest trends so I don't get what this dress code is exactly or do we just need a jacket or is it reservations only? So if doesn't matter if you don't get in, because they still made money off you...$20 valet! Hello! What a waste of time!!! I'll never go back.

Pros: The Dragons outside are Lovely

Cons: The Owner and his group of Goons

Worst Club EVER!!! Rude Bouncers who have 2 lines a regular line and a "Quality Line". Whose on the quality line you ask well every half naked Latina in NYC. This establishment is horrible my friend paid for bottle service for her bday and NONE of her friends were able to get in. I waited 1.5 hours on line in the RAIN only to get to the front at 2am to be told I need to pay $40 !!!! Mind you we looked inside and the club was not even full. They must be crazy we left, I only waited this long because it was my best friends birthday. Thanks to Talay my friend left crying and screaming at the bouncers. NYC is a big city, no damn club is worth damn near 2 hrs on line and $40 at 2am. Take your money elsewhere. Crowd was Latinos in tight pants and Latinas half naked in Payless shoes. I'm Latina and even I wanted no part in that crowd. Like I said take your money elsewhere

My fiance and I wanted to have a night alone tonight, without all of our friends, so we decided to check out Talay. We started out by having a few drinks at the dining room. Our waiter was very friendly, and we had a good time. At 11:30 the club upstairs opened, and we wanted to give it a try. At the door the bouncer asked us to hold off for a while, and later another man came and asked us if we wanted to go up to the club and we said yes. The guy simply looked at me from head to toes and said "not with those boots". And that is it. I asked him if I had to wear heels and he said yes, and walked away from me. Now I have never been rejected from a club before for wearing boots. I was not dressed casual at all. I was wearing a dress with tights and boots. I could not believe that this person could just offend me and walk away. Any person who values their customers does not simply offend them and walk away. He could have said politely that the club had a policy and no boots were allowed, but no. He simply said "not with those heels." I find this extremely degrading to women as not all of us want to wear short, seductive or sexually appeasing dresses and heels. Not all women want to be viewed as sexual objects and this is exactly what this place makes you feel like. Avoid it at all costs unless you don't mind having your butt cheek hang out of your dress. Who makes these rules anyway? Not every woman wears heels.

Cons: rude, poor management, racist

I have to say that I was extemely disappointed in the quality of Customer Service by Bouncers and promotors whom allow people to enter. They are truly disrespectful and very inhumane. I personally do not believe one person should pay for someone else's poor judgement on proper attire. I was in accordance with establishment's rules and I was disregarded without proper explanation. No one should have to experience this kind of treatment when your simply trying have a good time and in turn will contribute its financial gain. Extremely NOT GOOD FOR BUSINESS AND WILL NOT RECOMMEND THIS ESTABLISHMENT BASED ON THE QUALITY AND POOR PROESSIONALISM. TO FIND OUT THAT THERE WERE PEOPLE IN THERE WHO VIOLATED THE PROPER ATTIRE AND WERE WEARING SNEAKERS. EXTREMELY UNFAIR..... sO PLEASE THINK TWICE ABOUT COMING HERE.

Pros: friendly wait staff

Cons: Male chauvinistic, offensive to any woman with SELF-WORTH

I came here for my birthday with a few girlfriends, it was a blast. the staff was very attentive, food was tasty and the ambience was fabulous! lots going on but if that's what you had in mind (which we did) this is the place for you. it was a lot of fun and it had a lot of different areas to chose from; the dining room, the bar and of course the night club upstairs. I would definitely recommend this place and have gone back a few times afterward. Enjoy!

Pros: festive, decent food and drinks

Cons: can get a bit crowded, but that didn't bother us

.

The lounge is well designed, I like the decor a lot. Staff is always on top of things and polite to all the patrons. I go there way too much lol but it's because it feels like home. I would recommend this place for anyone looking for something out of the ordinary. The location will throw you off, but once you get there it's like you're in your own oasis. The door can be strict so if you go make sure you have your outfit up to par - ladies are mostly in heels and dresses. Guys have on shoes and a blazer some even in suits! I Still love the place and i have to give it 5 stars!
