excellent karate dojo!

by gubsfs

D-Dojo is an exceptional school of modern Japanese karate thanks to the dedication of Igor Dyachenko. Igor is a world champion in Shotokan yet he is humble and extremely dedicated to teaching and developing his students. He is very rigorous and focuses on technique. He makes sure the basics are understood and perfected before progressing to more advanced techniques and katas. It is also an incredible workout, with excellent stretching, endurance training, aerobic exercise, mind control, and meditation. A highly recommended way to relieve stress in today?s environment. Also, a great way to get back into shape. The environment is very welcoming regardless of the level. I am 49 years old and look forward to the training sessions at D-Dojo. It?s fun, healthy, and keeps me going in the complex NY environment. Eddie

I began training at D-Dojo in October 2008; I honestly never thought that I would enjoy it as much as I do. Igor Dyachenko is a wonderful instructor, he is very passionate about the sport of karate-do and that shows through his dedication and commitment to the school and his students. I get a lot from my training, flexibility, strengthening, toning, and balance and of cause I got to meet a lot of new friends.

Awesome training in D-Dojo !

by JuliePellet

I would like to thank D-Dojo and especially its sensei Igor to welcome me in his club.
Igor is a really good teacher and also a tough competitor in all kind of practices : technical, Kata, Kumite.
I've been practicing Karate for 12 years, especially in Kumite and it s a real pleasure and honor to train myself with Igor and D-Dojo members.
I'm learning a lot.
I'm so glad to have found this club because I come from France and when I just moved to NYC I didn't know if I could find a club like mine in France.
I know a lot of teachers and igor is for sure, one of the best who I have met ! He knows how to train, to speak, to explain and to motivate people at any level of learning.
I recommend you to try his very good training. You will enjoy for sure !

Thanks d-Dojo, Thanks Igor.

Best Karate School in New York

by novruz

D-Dojo is the real karate school. If you want to learn traditional karate the correct way, join D-Dojo. Sensei Dyachenko is very experienced karateka with both technical and practical skills. I have been practicing karate for over 20 years and have seen many instructors in my life. As I third degree black belt in Shtokan style and former world and european karate champion I highly recommend D-Dojo.

D-DoJo is the place for serious and dedicated people who want to learn the art of karate from the core!

by mario_the_one

Let me tell you something, if you are a serious person who respects quality, this place would be for you. If you are looking for private or group classes to learn the art of karate as it is thought in Japan for your child or yourself, I would recommend only d-dojo because the instructor there is the real deal, he is so precise to details, you would not believe. In short period of time I have learned so much, it would take me a life time to get to those secrets, if I was practicing in regular karate school. Thanks to Igor for all his help.

Pros: Prices are very cheap compare to the quality of instructions.

Cons: None whatsoever!!

Kicks your behind in a great way!

by foodie43

My username should be an indication that I LOVE to eat and drink. But those extra calories pile up; and after trying all kinds of diets and gyms, I needed something that would "kick my behind" a little harder, so that I could go on enjoying being a foodie. Igor kicks it in a most terrific way. He's intuitive, knowlegeable, patient and works with you to maximize your body potential. D-Dojo Karate most definitely does the trick. Not only can I go on eating what I want, but my overall physique has improved tremendously. I can't recommend it enough!

Pros: Great instructor, great program

Cons: None

Great working atmosphere.

by slanievictor

You will learn a lot from the teacher, might be a little frustrating in the beginning, because you realize how much work needs to be done to be a good karateka. Obviously, not like a typical karate school. Most of other places only what your money for their belts. Come check it out, anyway the first class is free.

Very nice experience!!!!

by kravmaga1976

The best karate and self defense teacher, no one else has that ability to perform the moves with full force and amplitude, to explain and to make you perform it in the same manner was shown. If I take suggestions from Igor, so you should use his expertise for sure.

Pros: very dedicated teacher.

For Kids, Adults & Teens, Cooool training

by karatekid0108

Although I'm only 17, I've been practicing karate for 10 years now under many different senseis and dojos. D-dojo is different from most dojos out there and I like it for learning how to focus better. Igor has helped me correct my form and stamina. In just three lessons I learned more than I would from a month of my previous trainings. Its not just good for advanced students like myslef, but is great for beginners by teaching them every detail of the proper karate form. You learn to feel your muscles and know your body. I'm going to keep going and in 1 year I know I will achieve better results and win more championships than before, either way i know my form, my body, and my fitness is getting in the best shape ever. This dojo is sooooooo awsome!!!!

The best personal trainer !

by slovak

I have leaved in New York more than ten years, for the past few years I've been working in the office, so I do not get physical activities so much. My dream was always to learn karate, but I could not find the right place till now.
My personal instructor is phenomenal. He knows exactly what you need to do in order to achieve your preset goals. This young gentleman knows more healthy life strategies than any other personal trainer in the city. Trust me. I have tried many personal trainers including NYSC, Reebok... My current workout is consisting of: a lot of warming up and stretching, weight lifting, cardiovascular and karate exercises.
After taking 4 week course of 20 lessons I feel like never before: energized, stress less and more confident with my body.
I would like to thank Igor for his professionalism, dedication and close attention to my fitness growth.

Pros: get in shape with this guy

Great master and excellent instructor

by stasiko

When I heard that Igor has finally listened to many advices and opened a studio I was compelled to give him a review, so that people outside the professional Karate circles hear about this superfighter. I had the pleasure to train with Igor for 2 months in summer of 2006 and I can personally attest not only for his phenomenal skills as a karate master, after all, he is dan three and twice world champion among many titles, but also for his exceptional level of instructing. He gives his students an unmatched personal attention and he really does make sure that you learn and perform accordingly. In this time I learned quite a lot , he improved my technique, actually re-shaped it completely, and I have to mention that I have a black belt in Shotakan karate. After training with Igor, I must say, I rediscovered Karate. Highly recommend!

Pros: True Sensei

Cons: not enough classes

Amazing dojo and gifted teachers

by asdfjklsemicolon

I took several classes with Igor and was highly impressed with what I learned. He has a way of putting you in the zone...when he speaks, you listen. He has a reverence for his practice that shows you this is more than just self defense, but a philosophy, truly the driving force in what he does. He has a particular attention to the details of the mechanics of each move, with a focus on the fundamentals that lay the basis for more advanced technique. Although I left exhausted and perhaps just a bit sore, I would always feel much more energized, confident and "balanced" thereafter - a nice release at the end a stressful day of being chained to your desk. I would HIGHLY recommend D-Dojo!

Pros: attention to detail, dedicated instructors, great work out and overall great exprience

Cons: uhhhh....?
