I had such a great time on my first visit to this place, which doubles as a restaurant.

The drinks were amazing, using premium liquor from very cool places around the world.

The ultra-swank vibe is really cool and it's a perfect place to chill with friends. I love how "underground" it is and I'm totally going back.

Also, take a look at the basement; a perfect place to host a private party.

I love this joint!

I absolutely love hitting this place up, even when there's people there the bar is never too crowded. Staff is friendly, and to be honest: attractive. Their cocktails are good, some which are unexpectedly strong (try the Vesper). When it's warm out they open the window and it's like you're on a patio, when it's cold the dinning room has this warm wood glow to it. Definitely recommend!

I went here for a birthday party that was held on the lower floor (it is 2 floors). It was a great atmosphere - lounge-like, but also enough room to dance. There were white couches and candles so it could be a very intimate setting, but at the same time it was spacious enough to hold 100 of your best friends. There is also a bar downstars so you don't have to keep trekking back upstairs. I think the b-day party I went to, the person had her friends DJ, so I'm not quite sure what kind of music they actually play - may want to call in advance and check.

We didn't have any issues at the door, and the place filled out by about 12-12:30. We kept it going till post-close time :)

I would recommend this for birthday gatherings (b/c of the lax door policy), a get together with friends, or a girls night out.

I love this place. It's one of my favorite spots in New York. The door is relaxed and the staff is great to be around. The music is amazing and the drink menu is killer. Where else can you try a cocktail named Pink My Berries or Between the Sheets and actually enjoy it! And it helps that that Le Lupanar is French slang for brothel.

I threw my birthday party here this summer and I had the most amazing time. I definitely recommend checking this place out or reserving it for your next party. It has a very modern look and 2 levels. It's just big enough and just intimate enough, no matter what type of vibe you are feeling.

A few months ago I spent some time looking at venues for my upcoming birthday party and couldn't make up my mind. Then I found the perfect little spot in the downstairs lounge of Le Lupanar. The room has a modern Asian feel and was just the right size for my group of friends. Kieter was so accommodating and helpful and we were in constant communication right up to and throughout the evening. Everyone had a blast and before I could blink it was over! Highly recommended.

I love love love Le Lupanar. I don't even live in the LES and I find myself taking trains all the way down to this Essex St spot to hang out. It helps that Le Lupanar is not even a block away from the Delancey stop so I can practically stumble in through the brown wooden doors. I think its the fresh mango margaritas that keep me coming back or perhaps its the excellent service from the attentive and knowledgeable staff that always makes my experience enjoyable.
Lupanar is unique in that its almost unheard of to find a place where you can have both a cozy romantic date and you can shake what your mama gave you unashamedly on the dance floor. I have brought several friends here to show off the amazing architecture and decor of the place. They have all raved about the bathrooms, secret Devils Advocate door leading to the dance floor, private screening room, and the underbar bag hooks which are crucial for on the go bag ladies. Simply put Le Lupanar offers it all and its ambience is suited to satisfy even the most discriminating tastes.

Pros: Drinks are fresh and reasonable

Cons: they had an amazing brunch but they have stopped serving food

A great place to catch a meal and/or a drink, Le Lupanar's best selling point is its classy decor, with a beautiful but subtle orchid theme and an overall modern look that's inviting instead of chilly. Right near the subway and a nice, relaxing retreat near the hopping LES scene, the food is perfectly prepared french cuisine and the overall scene is nicely chill and mixed. Good place to meet people too, met one very hot guy there. :)

Great spot for a priavte party. Everything down to the decor, food and service were great. Sophie was friendly and was a great help for our Bridal Shower brunch! Thanks Le Lupanar for making our party a success!

It took forever for them to open up but must say it was well worth the wait!! The restaurant's modern contemporary decor catches your eye - especially when it's right next door to the McDonald's but more importantly, it's the food and service that makes you want to stay. As a resident of the lower east side, I'm always looking for good new places to check out and was curious to see how this place compared to some of the other great restaurants in the area. After finally eating at Le Lupanar, I have to say this place falls into my top 5 list for the Lower East side. The french inspired dishes are very simple but spectacular and the wait staff was very attentive to our large group. All 10 of my friends who went there were very pleased with the food and service so we're definitely headed back soon! Tip: Try and ask for the back private room if you have a large party!! Overall, you won't regret the experience - check it out!!
