These are all clearly fake reviews by Flat Rate Carpet. These guys are pros at the bait and switch. They bully you into paying more than their quoted price due to, get this, a single piece of gum in a massive sized room carpet.

Needless to say, I threw them out of my house. I would not recommend this company, there are many other honest business out there.

The man who came to my apt had no respect for doorman buildings. He was in a huge rush and was aggravated by the rules and questions of the building. I am so embarrassed with the disgusting attitude he gave to my doorman. When I heard what was going on, I called the main number immediately and they did nothing about the situation. The man ended up leaving and I was left stranded with a dirty carpet! Do not use this company if your building has ANY protocol.

I called these guys in to clean my sofa, 5 rooms and some stairs. They did it when they delivered the area rugs that they picked up last week.

It was good work and I'd use them again.

I had my rugs cleaned and delivered and they look great. I was a little put off to begin with because I was told they'd take a week to 10 days to be done.

They came back on the earliest day of the promised range and they're sparkling and they did my sofa when they delivered them.

It was my first time calling a cleaning company to get rid of a foul smell and I chose flatrate carpets. The price is unbeatable and the smell is gone from the carpet. Money well spent!!

My experience with this company has been a very positive one. The technician was courteous and professional, he also answered every question that I had for him with the up most knowledge and patience. I wanted only one rug cleaned, but I saw how good he had cleaned it and decided to let him service the whole house. I would recommend this company to anybody, even my enemies!!

Calling a carpet cleaner to me felt as thought i'd get some old guy out who would rip me off, but to my surprise when i called Flat Rate the girls on the phone were young, energetic and professional. l felt that they represented a certain type of professionalism that is rare today. When the technician showed up at my house, he was very knowledgeable about what his job and was really pleasant and patient. He cleaned my whole entire house from top to bottem, even though at the time I wasnt planning on cleaning the whole house. But when he started on the living room, it looked so good, I just told him to clean every room in the house!!!!!!!!!! I feel that these traits are very important to an old Chick like me, who has a hard time deciding what I want. I recommend this company to anybody who needs carpet cleaning service!!!!

My grandmother left me her beloved area rug to me when she died and I've been trying to find somebody capable of cleaning it for months. It's been a job too big for everyone, but Flat rate Carpet took it on and did a fantastic job in the time period promised. I'm sure that Nana is smiling down on us now because of this.

A lovely gentleman came to my apartment to clean my living room and bedrooms. My carpet looks great and smells clean without a strong chemical smell. I asked if they offered organic cleaning, which they do!

They may be good at cleaning carpets but not good at keeping appts. I rushed home only to wait for almost 2 hours and no one came or called. This is no way to run a business and there is no excuse. I will not be using them for anything and shame on them.

First of all, great website! (from a designer who knows...!) I had Flat Rate pick up a Persian rug given to me by my aunt who had it herself for about 20 years. The fringe was frayed, torn and dirty but I didn't want to toss the whole thing. They took it in for about 2 weeks and replaced it and it looks fantastic. Granted, rug repair is NOT cheap, but theirs was the best quote I got and they did a beautiful job.

After months of smelling the horrible scent of dog urine, I finally decided to look up a carpet cleaner to see if they could get the smell out of my house. I phoned Flat Rate Carpet for free estimate. The staff were very friendly, but more importantly, THEY GOT THE SMELL out. Now all I have left is to train my dog!

I had accidentally knocked over an entire of bottle of red wine onto my carpet. When going to pick it up I kicked it ever further along the carpet spreading the mess! I found Flat Rate Carpet Cleaners on the web, gave them a call and they sent someone immidietly. The service was excellent and I would highly advise everyone to use their services to get wine out of your carpets!

My 4 year old has just finished wetting the bed at night so we decided to get her mattress cleaned. When the technician came out he did an amazing job, I saw and smelt the difference. As the price was reasonable I got him to do all the other mattresses. Thank you and I know we will definitely sleep better.

Do not use them for cleaning blinds! If you do, get every blessed detail in writing. They do not keep their word. Work is nowhere near what the price would imply. We paid $600 for cleaning 6 blinds, so I expected quality service. We were going to pay $250 for re-installation because we had our windows replaced and the blinds could not be installed directly on the new window frames without voiding the warantee.

They missed two appointments and did not call. I had to call. Blinds finally came back dull and fairly dirty and full of dings. (I had to finish the job with a damp paper towel which picked up much loose dirt) We had discussed that they would replace or repair worn cords. When they returned the blinds, they denied that was part of the deal. Sure enough, that was not in the contract, which was faily faint and illegible.

They were supposed to have re-installed the blinds, but did not listen to the requirements I had spelled out from the beginning (required for the warantee on our new windows) and argued with me about how it should have been done. We cancelled the re-install which was to have been $250.

We are arranging for someone else to install the blinds and have dated the $600 check to so that we can test if the blinds still work after they are hanging up.

I called up flat rate carpet and immediately they offered to send a technician over for a free estimation.
I was happy because I couldn't really explain over the phone what really needs to be done.
the technician came over and was very professional and told me exactly what needs to be done and what's the best treatment for every room and every fabric.
the job was done in an hour and a half, everything was clean, smelling good, and soft.
good and reliable company, I recommend flat rate carpet!

Me and my husband have 2 cats and a dog living inside the house. A week and a half ago my mother got sick and moved in with us. The problem is that she is very allergic to cats.
We had to bring someone that can clean our carpet and upholstery quickly and thoroughly. We called ny carpets and one day later our carpets were as good as new!
Efficient and quick- that?s how a customer should be served!

when I called flatrate carpet I didn't really believe that those ugly old stains, from the time my son was a baby, can come off.
but I thought "hey, at least it will smell good..."
when the job was done I couldn't believe my eyes: it was as good as new, not even a small sign that there was a stain! and the smell is great! so- it was worth every dollar. thank you flatrate carpet

After all the other rave reviews of this company, it's too bad I have to leave a bad one. The person I made the appointment with said they'd clean the carpets in the house, rather than take them away, without offering her suggestion or expertise (I have now learned that taking them away allows them to do a better job for a cheaper price). I shouldn't be expected to know the best way to clean a rug (deep cleaning or steam or whatever). She quoted me a price that the workmen promptly DOUBLED when they arrived. They thought they were taking the carpets away, so they weren't prepared to do the job I wanted. And when they realized they didn't have enough time to do it in the house, they rushed the job, finishing in less than 15 minutes on 3 rugs and knocking over furniture, breaking a picture frame. And the stains are still there!!!! Next time I'm taking my $475 (!) and buying a machine to do it myself.

My new puppy decided it wanted to use the rug my mother-in-law gave to us as a wedding present as a chew toy. The whole corner was chewed up. I didn't think it could be saved, but I called Flat Rate anyway because I knew it was really expensive and she would've been upset. They brought the rug back in two weeks and I couldn't believe how great it looked, you couldn't even tell. I was so relieved that everything worked out. They were really nice and professional.

My sister came over with her husband and two kids for dinner. Now, I didn't spend a million dollars on my couch, but it's less than a year old and I like it clean. I don't know what they spilled on it, but when I tried a spot treatment it only made it lighter and bigger. I called Flat Rate Carpet and they came right over. They completely zapped the stain and did it for a really good price.

Just thought I'd join in on praising Flat Rate Carpet Cleaners.
I have an old rug passed down to me from my mother after being passed down to her by her mother.
The carpet is already worn out, and I didn't want to have to give it up. I reached Flat Rate by recommedation of a friend and decided to givr them a chance.
I was paid a pleasant visit by polite and professional technicians who did a superb job at a more than reasonable price.
They'll definitely be the ones I turn to in my next hour of need.

I had an area rug that once belonged to my grandmother in the 40's. It was really beutiful, but it was so dirty and worn out that I just didn't belive it could ever be cleaned and restored. But Flat Rate proved me wrong. For a reasonable price, they deep cleaned it and now it looks almost brand new. They were on time, friendly, professional, and the price was very reasonable considering the hard work it required.

This could not possibly be our customer. First of all, we have a reputation in the city for the best prices and service. Second, we never give quotes over the phone. There is no way to know how much something like this will cost, kind of like when your car breaks down and you have to take it to the mechanics to check out. This is why we come out and give free estimates and demonstrations. Taking the rugs away does not mean that we will do a better job for a cheaper price. Some of the rug we cannot clean at home. For example natural colours rugs, silk, and many kinds of wool cannot be done in house. Also, we have never completed a job in 15 minutes. In fact, we wish we could! If we broke a picture frame, we would gladly reimburse the money for it. And last but not least, all of our customers know that if they are not satisfied with the service (ie stains are still there), we always come out and re-do the job free of charge until the customer is satisfied.

i don't know what I would do without their super professional treatment .

Nothing in worse for a home than a filthy rug. As much as we can try to keep it clean, if we don`t hire a professional to do the job, it will never be a 100%. My rug was actually disgusting, having new puppies and 2 kids it`s really hard. My neighbor recommended Flat Rate Carpets and I called them. They came over right on time and did an amazing job/ My rug looks as good as it did when I first bought it. Thanks Flat Rate Carpets.

Flat Rate Carpet was recommended to me by a neighbor. I am so glad that I called them. My carpets came out great!! They are back to the condition they were in when I first bought them. I just got a new puppy last week, and a few nights after I got him I was invited out with some friends. A few drinks turned into an all nighter, and I didn?t get home until the next afternoon. By the time I got home the dog had gone to the bathroom all over my apartment. I tried to get the stains out but it only got worse and the place was starting to smell. I searched for a carpet cleaner and these guys said they could come that day. Within a few hours the guys were cleaning my apartment with cleaners that would be safe for my badly trained dog and everything was as good as new. Now all I have to do is start training the dog!

Last week I was doing laundry while my children were with their babysitter at the park. I went to enjoy my peace and quiet, and almost an hour later I went to check on my laundry. The machine must have been leaking water for the entire time because water had flooded my small laundry closet and spilled out into our kid?s playroom. The carpet in there was never anything special, but now it was destroyed! Water had soaked through half the room already, and leak only stopped after my husband came home and turned the water to the house off! I called Flat Rate Carpet and even though it was already 7pm, they sent over someone right away. Because they responded so quickly, and did such a great job, my carpet was saved, and one week later there is no sign of the disaster except the new laundry machine!

I was so happy when I finally found the couch of my dreams...it cost me a fortune, but the joy it gave me was priceless. I was so excited that I decided to have a 'couch warming' party, but the aftermath showed me that it was not such a good idea. ironically, after too many drinks and hors d'eurves a friend of mine spilled red cocktail sauce on my new couch. The stain was awful, although it wasn?t very big it was very noticeable, especially to me. I was worried that this was the end...of my beloved couch. When I called Flat rate carpet cleaners I was convinced that no matter what they would not be able to remove it completely. The couch was a light color and the stain was fairly dark. BUT OH BOY DID THEY EVER PROVE ME WRONG. The service was excellent, immediate, friendly, courteous, not to mention the fact that they stain is COMPLETLEY GONE. The couch is like new again...

I couldn't have asked for a better service or a cleaner sofa. My furniture has come up looking like it has just been bought. I was highly impressed with the accomodative staff at all the levels and felt completely at ease allowing them loose on my living room 3 piece.

My friends and I had a small party and red wine was spilled all over my new carpet.
I called Flat Rate Carpet the next day and they showed up immediately.
The job was quick and noiseless, the workers were extremely nice and friendly, and the carpet came out better than before.
I already recommended Flat Rate Carpet to my friends, and am glad to recommend it to you too.

After reading so many good reviews I thought this company was too good to be true....but I was wrong!
They are just as competent and effective as descibed by Citysearch Editors and Members alike!
Flat Rate Carpet has well trained technicians that know what they're doing. My apartment looks and smells great again. I found my Manhattan carpet cleaners!

I used FLAT RATE CARPET to fix and clean the damage a different cleaning service did to my $4000 couch and I AM SO PLEASED WITH THE RESULTS. Flat Rate removed all of the stains in less than 20 minutes.

I highly recommend this cleaning company. I've tried a couple other upholstery cleaning services and this one is by far the best one in Manhattan. They have very experienced cleaning technicians who are able to remove pretty much any types of stains AND they are courteous and charge a very fair price.

I won't go anywhere else from now on.

I didn't expect much because of all the bad experiences I have had with carpet cleaning in new york.
But these guys were great! They knew everything about oriental rug cleaning and repair and hand washed my persian rug. The colors look better than I could remember. They were also true gentleman and the lady named Harriet at the office is a sweety! She took good care of me and my rug. Very personalized service.

I first found Flat Rate Carpet here on Citysearch and checked out their website. I called and the service was very friendly. I booked an appointment for an estimate to clean 3 bedrooms and a hallway. I had some dog stains I never thought would come out. I am happy to say they did a perfect job and my house smells like new! AND the prices were very fair for the quality of service I received. Will definitely call again.

I've lived in nyc for 12 years and these are the best carpet and upholstery cleaners I have yet to do business with. They cleaned my sectional sofa perfectly and even removed stains I thought were permanent. I am THRILLED!

What a wonderful experience! I am so pleased with my freshly cleaned carpet! It smells great and all the stains have been removed. Before I called Flat Rate Carpet for wall to wall carpet cleaning, I was sure I needed new carpet and carpet installation. But the cleaned it so well and effectively...no need! I called Flat Rate Carpet for the first time last week to pick up my husband`s mom`s favourite rug for repairs and cleaning.
This rug means a lot to him so I called a few carpet cleaners and was careful who I picked because of how much it meant to my husband.
They were the friendliest, most caring carpet cleaners I have ever encountered! They asked all the right questions and reassured us we would be getting the best service. And they were right! My husband`s family heirloom looks better than ever and has been superbly restored! Thank you so much! Will definitely call again.
