I had a great experience there. The staff were very friendly and know what they're recommending. They're always coming out with new wines that you normally won't find elsewhere and the prices are very competitive. I'd recommend this place

maybe it's just me. but out of all the times i have shopped in this wine store, i always have a problem. to be fair, i am quick to question the pricing at the check out -- because the bottles are not always obviously marked, and because i do make mistakes -- like tonight when i meant to get two of the same bottle, but accidentally picked up two different bottles. instead of taking the wrong bottle and exchanging it, the sales clerk baggng snarled at the cashier to just cancel my sale. while i went and got a new bottle (whatever happened to HELPING a customer?), they continued to ring people up, skipping over me while i went back and helped myself. when i asked if there was a receipt to show i hadn't been debited, he acted like i'd inconvenienced him (AGAIN). oops, it was a debit, but i couldn't remember if i'd entered my pin or not. it's lovely being treated like a second-class citizen, like i should just pay up and shut up. maybe it's because i'm not buying that pricey bordeaux. or maybe it's because it's Pretentious Slope. that said -- whether the mistake is mine or theirs -- they're just plain rude and ready to take the money and shove me out the door. i never get treated this way at **any** other wine shops in the area & i do mix things up. there is one really nice african american man working there, but the rest of the employees/owners could take a lesson in customer service and/or human relations. my $20 spends just as well somewhere else. and from now on, i'll go blocks out of my way to be treated with civility.

Pros: good selection

Cons: awful service

this place has the greatest selection of wines by far - a very impressive establishment with the typical yellow tail line as well as some rare and non-mainstream wineries. if they don't have what you're looking for, you can even ask them to order it for you. they definitely raise the bar for wine shops in park slope. they also have a variety of liquors and champagnes which was great for this past holiday season and for other parties/celebrations. prices are great and they deliver!

Pros: selection of wines, price, wine shop ambience (as opposed to the corner grocery types)

Cons: none
