The Scene
Somehow, city dirt never makes it into this immaculately clean-feeling bar. The blond floors, white walls and low-slung tables and chairs contribute to the thoroughly modern vibe. Couples and small groups perch on stools at the bar or sink into plentiful seating along the walls. A courteous barkeep keeps a vigilant watch over drinks, assuring you'll never be without one, and has Veuve Cliquot on hand for the late-night celebratory crowd.

The Draw
With decor this minimal, one's eye naturally wanders to the drink list. Wander no further than the ginger spice martini, a mix of Stoli Ohranj, orange curacao with fresh lemon and ginger root for a tasty kick, or the tangy mojito, with a generous helping of fresh mint. With the exception of the summer rolls, the Asian and Latin-inspired tapas are skippable. The crab cakes taste of the can; the shrimp arrive limp.

Nice Place, Friendly and Mellow

by KendraM

I love coming here for a drink after work. It's a calm, clean environment and I've never had any problems. My friend had her birthday party here, and the staff couldn't have been nicer.

Door policy at white rabbit now!!?!?!?!?

by gnamnori

I used to love this place, I've had 4 of my own bday parties here and recommended several friends to have there's too in the past , it was always a chill place you didnt have to worry about getting in or pay cover, but things seem to have changed.

I rolled by on a Saturday night around 9:30ish with about 9-10 people. It was DEAD empty inside. The guy at the door said if we wanted to go in, all 10 of us HAD to check our coats. We said f it and went somewhere else, we specifically chose this place because I'm not looking for a hassle at a door when I go out.

Maybe its a one off, but I'm turned off enough to not go back to this place any more.

Pros: used to be a nice spot, cool crowd.

Cons: NEW DOOR POLICY??

Great staff, Great Cocktails, No Jerks!

by Deshant

I was looking for a place to celebrate my 30th birthday and practically walked past this place a couple of times. It's not just easy to miss on the outside but really low-key on the inside. I spoke to the manager about time and table location and there was no mandatory table/bottle service or a deposit or anything.
The other partygoers in the bar where friendly, fun-loving and attractive with no jerks elbowing there way to the bar or being obnoxious. The DJ kept the party up playing Top40 mixed with some key mixes while the screen showed some abstract stuff to keep everyone visually stimulated. Big shout-out to Orion (sp?) who helped me out from beginning to end. This is going to be a regular spot from now on

Pros: great to chill on a weekday (not Monday)

Fantastic Staff

by christinashipp

I recently threw a Benefit @ The White Rabbit for my theatre company (FLUX Theatre Ensemble), and I could not have been more impressed with the staff! Orion and John are fantastic bartenders, they were friendly and fast. There are no pretensions here, although the space is lovely and hospitable. Many of my guests commented on what a classy feeling the space had, which was perfect for our event. I would definitely recommend the space for parties, no matter the size. The lounge-y tables and seating can accommodate nearly every size group. Also, the happy hour prices are great. I am definitely returning soon!! Well done, guys!

Pros: Great bar staff, Fantastic for Parties

Chic, friendly, great service

by addison637

I needed a place for an engagement party, and a friend who is a DJ recommended the White Rabbit to me. We checked out a couple other places but liked the decor and menu of this place the best. The owner and staff were extremely accommodating throughout the planning process and the party was executed flawlessly. The bar staff was friendly and the drinks were made very well. We ordered several platters of appetizers which were all delicious (especially the mini burgers and the chicken tempura) and the staff brought them out in the correct order and pacing that we requested. The champagne toast and cake cutting were done perfectly. The decor is chic and elegant, the music was low-key and lounge-y during the party and then more upbeat and dance-ier as the night went on. Several guests commented to me what a great place it was for a party. Near the end of our party (around 10:30) the place got pretty packed with an eclectic and fun-looking group of people. We had a great experience and I highly recommend the White Rabbit for a private party or for going out with friends.

Pros: Great service, yummy appetizers, convenient location

Cons: None

Friendly staff, not over-crowded, nice, just nice

by drink_club1

Is this the ONLY user-friendly, not packed Lower East Side bar? I don't know, but it is one of few. The big screen TV showed an endless loop of a great Jet Li movie. The patrons could easily move around and were VERY friendly. We met a visiting crew in town from Turkey. Right before Thanksgiving. We thought that was very appropriate. The music is occasionally too loud, but otherwise it's easy to talk, enjoy yourself, find a table in the back and have a good time in a group. The bartender was extremely friendly, and good spirited-- despite our obvious lack of sobriety. The beer selection was nothing spectacular, but better than just Bud. The food was slightly on the bland side... but better and more various than the ordinary wings and calamari barfood of everywhere else. --Drink Club is a roving group of NYC drinkers

Pros: great staff, not over-crowded, music USUALLY at conversation level

Cons: average beer list

Quaint Little bar

by callisto

The place was a friendly place to meet up with friends for a drink. Small area in the back where some people were dancing. Good place to just relax a bit & catch up with friends.

Pros: Nice little place, friendly atmosphere

Cons: No real room to dance

Not Very Mixed Scene

by lilikaki

The space itself is very minimalistic. When we went it was Saturday night and it was nearly empty, unlike La linea where we went right after and it was packed. Overall it's an okay spot to hang and talk wiith your friends but not place to party or people watch. Plus it is not very diverse, everyone there is mostly asian.

Laid-Back Lounge in a Cool Setting

by qtgurljny

White Rabbit gets PACKED on the weekends. Crowds a plenty try to get drinks as people are elbowing their way up to the bar. Arrive early to enjoy some down time before the party gets started. Once it does, White Rabbit is a great place to lounge and enjoy drinks with friends.

Follow the White Rabbit

by annamay_must_die

My boyfriend Alex & I go there for a calm laid back night out, when we just want to relax, listen to good music and have some stiff drinks. It's not much of a hook-up bar but the patrons are definately considerably friendlier, in an un-lewd way, than those at other bars in the L.E.S. The drinks are priced reasonably and they make a mean chocolate martini. It's always easy to get a couch for you and your sweetie and they never hassle u about bottle service. You cant go wrong with a place that plays reggaeton, Jay-Z, NIN and the theme song from Karate Kid Part 2 all in one night.

Pros: Great Friday DJ, Stiff Drinks, Easy Accessible Couch

Cons: Only 3 bathrooms, Not very happening, No Dancing

Not a bad Choice

by sadsamhoney0512

Finally a place to chill with friends without overcrowding and loud music. Drinks are ok. Bartenders are friendly and nice. Definitely not a place where you can dance your alcohol off though.

Pros: decor

Cons: music

interesting crowd

by benabar

I went on the night of a Giant robot magazine release party, though if you were just there to hang out you wouldn't have known that there was one, because there were no obvious signs that anything was going on. Crowd was about half asian. The interesting thing about this bar was that some people were actually meeting each other. The atmosphere was slightly friendlier than the usual keep to yourselves and make eye contact with someone but don't dare talk to them routine. I'm not saying people were meeting each other left and right, but there was something a little more open-minded about this place. There seemed to be just a little more space to say something.

Pros: interesting crowd, decor/space felt good

Cons: , or underpaid?, lychee martini was eh
