When they lost my shirt, there was an endless parade of other people's shirts they sent to the store for me to look at. Sorry for all the other people who's shirts they showed me, and they never did find mine.

Pros: none

Cons: lose clothes and dont find them

.

The other day, they were handing out coupons outside their facility on Ninth Av in Chelsea.

It was actually a great deal and I've wanted to try them, so I took some things in for the first time.
Their prices are quite a bit higher than any other dry cleaners in the area, but I was drawn to the green aspect of the business.

I was told my items would be ready Tuesday evening.
I went in late Wednesday afternoon only to be told that they are 'on the truck' and have not arrived yet.

So here's the thing:
Why are you soliciting new business if you can't deliver what you're selling??

When I asked the woman behind the counter this very same question, she said flatly: "Sorry"

So lets review:
fairly new business in the neighborhood, almost twice the price of any other cleaner in the area, soliciting new clients with a great deal, does not follow through on promise, and does nothing to try to retain a disappointed new customer.

As a sidenote, I spend over $250 a MONTH on dry cleaning- they lost a potentially very good client.
Big mistake....HUGE.

Firstly, we only used Green Apple with pickup and delivery. So I am not sure whether this review belongs to the second ave store (our neighborhood) or not. It probably doesn't matter.

After using them weekly for months they lost two sets of sheets. After letting them know they responded that my doormen refuse to sign for cleaning. Not true. When they supposedly checked their records they did have some initials (didn't match any of our doormen). When I checked with their driver he had never even been asked about any missing items. Phone calls were not returned, emails were never answered. No effort was made to apologize or compensate for our loss.

Incidentally we occasionally recieved clothes that were not ours so this must not be an isolated incident. Nor were we occasional customers. All I can conclude is that they just don't care.

Notice that one of the reviews said that all the bad reviews must come from competitors. I doubt that. I am not one.

To me a business is as good as it's customer service. Stuff happens, things get lost, sometimes damaged, but as long as business values you as a customer and tries to make things right, that is the most important thing to me. I had an absolutely horrible experience with Greensleeves Garment Care, another "green" cleaner and the owner in particular. My property was ruined, I was treated terribly and the situation ended up having to be resolved in court. I was then jaded....I did not want to deal with another drycleaning establishment again if that is how they all did business. I emailed Green Apple because whether I like it or not I am going to have to dry clean again eventually. The owner emailed me back personally... he was SO nice and felt bad for what I had been through. He understood my struggle as a parent trying to give my family a healthy and natural lifestyle being a parent himself. I like people who believe in something and are not JUST in it for money. He helped restore my faith in the whole "green" drycleaning business even offering me a credit just for giving them a chance so that they can prove to me that most of their bad reviews come from competing businesses. From my personal experience with one in particular, I believe it for certain! If a company feels so threatened that they have to pretend to be a customer posting a fake review then to me Green Apple must be doing something right. I look forward to trying their service soon and hopefully being able to contribute to it's reputation buy giving some positive feedback. When I am a customer , I am a loyal one. No one is perfect and maybe they might lose something of mine, or perhaps an item of mine could be damage, but I do have faith that with Green Apple it will be handled the right way and that is all I care about.

They "misplaced" (permanently) my clothing. Customer service is rude and non-responsive. Even when I did get my clothes back, I had to call to inquire about them before actually getting delivery.

So like one of the other reviewers, I liked the idea of a "cleaner" dry cleaner. I tried Green Apple because it was in my neighborhood and convenient. The first time I went, I only dropped off a pair of black pants. They were fine when I got them back. However, the second time I brought these pants back, they came back faded, streaked, etc. I had not had the pants cleaned anywhere in between, and these were a relatively new pair of pants that now look like they've been washed and dry cleaned about 20 times. I have no idea why they came back in such poor condition, but it's not something "fixable"--once it's faded, it's faded unless you dye them. I'm upset because they were an expensive pair of black pants and should have lasted a lot longer. Now I'll have to pitch them because they look so bad.
