Blockheads

The first time that I came here I didn't review it, not even after the 2nd time, so I guess third time is the charm. I love this place I might add, the crowd is diverse and the outdoor seatins makes for a perfect spot in the summer.

Only problem: no reservations.

We learned to sit in the "drinks only" area as soon as a seat opened as there is no time limit and you can just order and order and order (drinks of course). You have to stand up and wait about 5 minutes long to place a take-out order. The best part is that your take out can be eaten in the "drinks only" area. Each time I've been we've order the Bulldog (with Corona). It a frozen margarita, infused with a Coronita and an extra shot of tequila on top. For $7.50 they are a perfect summer drink. The problem is that they are soo good yet soo dangerous.

The chicken quesadillas with a side of guacamole really hits the spot and I can't wait to go back to Blockheads again.

I met five of my friends for dinner at Blockheads last Friday night and had a good time. The host was incredibly accomodating and placed us in a corner table. The server was very understanding of my intoxicated friends' repetitive demands for more margaritas. The food was plentiful; as a proclaimed big eater, even I couldn't finish my plate. Overall, Blockheads is a decent choice if you're looking for a laid-back, friendly atmosphere. Unfortunately, they don't take reservations...so get ready to wait!

After we were seated, our waiter took my order and then my husband was about to speak to give him his order. He turned around and left while he was in the middle of ordering and left without taking my husband's order! It was only the two of us so it's not like he forgot to take an order in a huge group. We had to flag the manager down to give her our order again. No one came over to ask us if we needed anything else. Not even the manager. We handed our waiter our credit card and we waited 45 MINUTES for him to return with our card and he didn't. My husband had to go over to him tell him how long we waited and demand that he give us our bill so we could leave. No apology, not even eye contact. Just "oh."

Pros: reasonably priced, cute decor

Cons: bad service, crowded, very loud music

One of my favorite places for Mexican food when I'm tight on cash. Excellent $3 frozen Margaritas, love the food. You won't wait to be seated, but you'll wait for your waitor. Service is slow and waitors can be a bit cold but it is still worth the trip!

their dinner specials are fantastic. for about eleven bucks you get a gigantic burrito (or tacos), margarita, and dessert. friendly staff. prompt service. perfect for a quick meal.

Good reliable Mexican food. It tastes the way it should taste and great Good Burrito. The restaurant is very affordable as well.

Best bbq beef sandwich on UE side. they recently stopped serving the molases baked beans that were awesome. what a bummer.
