High prices, but quality organic dry cleaning. They ruined a shirt (out of so many) and contacted me to to ask the full retail price so they could reimburse me. They gave me a generous credit with them. I think that's service

Don't say I didn't warn you. Green Apple has had my wedding dress for three months. I've called eight times, been promised delivery, updates, etc. Nothing. No apologies, no explanations, NO DRESS. If you want to avoid stress, wasting time

I have been bringing my laundry to Green Apple Cleaners in the west village for quite some time now and they have never let me down. I love how eco-friendly they are, it makes me feel better about myself knowing my laundry practices aren't harming the environment =). I saw on buywithmeNYC that you can get $100 worth of laundry done for just $50. Here's the link if you want to check out the deal yourself: htp://bit.ly/c7j9ox Enjoy!

I use Green Apple Cleaners as my one-stop-shop for everything including wash-fold, dry cleaning and tailoring (they make house calls - yay!)

I've had nothing but positive experiences with their quality work and courteous staff. And I must stress how pleasant their staff is. In an age where excellent customer service at times seems extinct, they are a breath of fresh air.

Their prices are very fair, especially for Manhattan and I always feel comfortable entrusting them with any garment. I appreciate how eco-friendly they are as well. Its nice to know that strange fragrances and harsh chemicals will never go near my clothes.

Give them a try, you will be pleasantly surprised!

My wife and I switched to Green Apple. We were unhappy with our previous cleaners and, to be honest, we weren't expecting much from GA, either, but thought we'd at least give it a shot. I am happy to say it was a very pleasant surprise - our clothes have, so far, come back much better. Our clothes even smell good too. If GA keeps this up, we'll keep using them. They're not cheap, but they do a great job.

A friend recommended this dry-cleaner because they pick up and deliver anywhere in the city . . . plus they claim to use "Green Technology" to clean clothes. So far so good . . . they got some nasty stains out of my wifes dress and I'm really happy with how my suits have come back. Plus did I mention, they pick-up and deliver ANYWHERE.

For me, doing toxic dry cleaning is not even an option, so I did my research and came upon Green Apple Cleaners. I don't do a ton of dry cleaning, but I had this yellow top I wear to work that got DEEP BLUE OIL PAINT on it. I thought my top was toast. When I picked up my dry cleaning, I was thrilled that most of blue was gone, so it's not even noticeable. WOW ;-) And of course, it has been just wonderful to have my items come back without that weird dry cleaning smell and feel like I am not damaging the earth or my health. I also think the ladies at the store are pretty nice and pleasant to deal with as well.

Pros: green, effective, nice people at store front

Cons: wish it was a little less expesnisve

I went to Green Apple because of their supposed Co2 cleaning system. They always had problems arranging pick ups from my building. I started bringing clothes to the Greenwich street store but the girls are rude.

This is the second time my clothes came back smelling like some dryer sheet or air freshener perfume. Not what I want from a "greener cleaner." I have specifically requested non-scented.

PS After a long absence they had a customer survey call to find out why I stopped coming

Beware!! They lost my clothes somehow and I have been trying to get the manager on the phone for almost 2 months! I keep talking to the customer service woman who keeps sending me to this man - Bob Ulman's voicemail and who has NEVER called me back.

When I first called about my missing clothes this woman said they found them in their warehouse without a tag (but by my description of my six items she was able to identify them). She tells me they will be delivered to me the next day after they dry clean them again. Next day - no clothes. I call back and am told that there was a mistake and that actually they can't find my clothes. She gives me this song and dance about how management is having a meeting and she will get back to me. I have now been attempting to get SOMEONE to talk to me for almost 6 weeks. And these were some of my best clothes - from BCBG, JCrew and Anthropologie (I only sent my best items here because it was not cheap).

I am so angry - this is all to say that they apparently have no concept of customer service and if you ever have a problem good luck getting it taken care of!

I have used Green Apple for about a year now, and I'm finally ready to give up. I really liked the idea of chemical-free drycleaning, but it's not worth the time and trouble that they consistently cause. They manage to pick up the cleaning at the scheduled time only about one of every three times, no matter how far ahead I schedule it or whether I use their website or call. They have failed to pick up my cleaning at least six times now, and every time it has taken several phone calls to get things straightened out. Particularly given reports in the NY Times and elsewhere that they aren't as natural as they claim to be, I'm ready to go back to the cleaners I used before--they may use traditional methods, but they're reliable.

If you would like a drama every time you take your cleaning to be done, then Green Apple Cleaners is the place to go. If they tell you your clothing will be ready on Thursday...it won't. Maybe Monday or Tuesday.
Check all clothing on return because you may very well find a hole or a rip somewhere. They will tell you that you did it and not them!!!!
Terrible, Terrible, Terrible. DO NOT GO NEAR THEM

This place is an unmitigated disaster. After a couple orders where they seemed generally flaky but things were fine, they lost clothes in my order and were never able to find them. Their receipts arent organized and a bunch of stores feed into one central plant, so heaven help you if (when) they lose your stuff. Just read the other reviews and buyer beware.

I used to use many cleaners for my alteration, but most of them just did not do the job right, the way i asked them to or totally messed up my cloth.
Till i found the place where my saver Ana works.
Now i can trust my favorite expencive dresses, pants and even top designer`s suites.
She saved me many times. One time i had a big, important presentation and i needed to look fabulous. I had a dress that each tailor refused to take, but my friend recommended to stop in Green Apple Cleaner and ask for Ana.
I can admit that the price she tolm me was kind of high, but i didn`t have any choice.
I was surprised how good she did a job. I couldn`t even tell that my designer`s dress was ever changed. And plus she did a huge amount of work just over night. So now i know, you get what you paying for.
And of course i was wearing that dress onmy presentation...thanks to Ana.

I lost a lot of weight and of course i needed to do something with that. I brought all my cloth to Ana,she did it all and i couldn`t even tell that those items were redone.

Nice job.

P.S. But cleaner could be better.

Beware. I've been going to the Greenwich street location for months and paying the premium prices due to their purported use less-toxic and environmentally friendly use of Co2 instead of harsh solvents.
As an article published in the NY Times today 01/12/09 (citysearch wont let me post link), it's basically a scam. Most clothes are not processed with Co2 but with another process which uses propylene glycol, a industrial strength solvent used in cosmetics and anti-freeze. Not a natural green product.
I will demand a partial refund for all my past bills because the language in all their marketing materials (website, flyers, etc.) and when you ask in the store only mentions this Co2, not this other chemical whose toxicity when worn on the body is not conclusively know. An excerpt from the article: David Kistner, chief executive of Green Apple, said he added the Solvair system in 2008 as his business grew. He said that it was a better cleaner than CO2 for most garments and that he used CO2 only for cleaning "more delicate" items, like a vintage gown.

But Mr. Kistner, who has built his four New York City stores and a thriving pickup business at apartment buildings on claims of environmental safety, acknowledged that he should be clearer about Solvair. Although he has explained the method in his company's news releases, he said he was revising the Web site and brochures to give customers more information on the process.

"We're not trying to hide anything," he said.

What crooks.

Clean and Green. This company has raised the bar and set the new standard for dry cleaning in NYC. I've done the research and every aspect of this company is Green. From bio diesel trucks, bio degradable plastic, recylcled garment bags, and smart cars. And Co2 technology is truly the greenest way to dry clean. Alot of companies on the West Coast are hip to this technology and we on the Not so Eco East Coast are just catching on. Way to go Green Apple. You guys are the best and GREENEST in NYC, period. I would recommend this company and it's services to everyone. Finally a company is providing a service and being Environmentally aware about it's impact. this company seems to be making green in a GREEN way. We need more companies in NYC like this.

I was excited that Green Apple just opened a new location on the UWS on Columbus Avenue. If you're in the area, avoid it. I dropped off four shirts, a blazer, a suit and a pair of pants. When I called to schedule a delivery, I was asked if I remembered what those items looked like. Um... I didn't, but the clerk said that "they would figure it out" and deliver to me the next day.

On the next day, I was called by the manager and asked the same question: did I remember what the items looked like that I dropped off? Since I didn't, they sent a delivery person here with a few extra items so I could determine which were mine. The shirts were not included.

When I called to complain, I was told that they couldn't deliver the shirts because I'm not in a doorman building so I have to pick them up (12 blocks away), and was only given a 10% discount for my trouble. Green Apple's website offers a 10% discount on the first order anyway...

It's a shame that this happened, because I was excited to use an eco-friendly dry cleaner. I guess they have too many customers to worry about customer service.

Green Apple Cleaners is a huge threat to New York's established dry cleaning industry. The cost of implementing the safer, greener, cleaner technology is prohibitive. Thus far, this is an investment that the establishment has been unwilling to make. The source of the negative reviews is no doubt a conflicted competitor.

Try GAC and you will be pleasantly surprised. Its a new era in dry cleaning.

I have not bothered to write a review before but unfortunately my experience with GAC has been so bad I feel I have to. Have had constant problems with their pick ups - I reckon they have missed pick ups at least 50% of the time. This time around, after trying to get a pick up for 3 days, multiple missed appointments, including today when they even named the hour so I would give them one last chance, I have given in and decided to use someone else. Bizzarely they have never missed a return, as far as I know. Anyhow, believe me, based on my experience it's unworkable and they have wasted a ton of my time.

Used their service the other day. My clothes came out smelling nice but looking dirty.
Called them and got the cold shoulder, even tried to give me a lesson on being green
dude, if u can't clean my clothes right, who cares that your green.

Would not recommend, clean your clothes at home if this is what green cleaning is about
and if what the other guy said about the chemicals, glycol ether, thats a harmful to humans
too, so what makes it better than perchloroethylene. thats why i used them in the first place.

Pros: They aren't a pro of anything, pro conmen

Cons: Bad quality cleaners, poor customer service

.

Not sure why businesses don't get that we can just go somewhere else. Totally worth walking five blocks over.... Customer service was horrible. Took 20 minutes to find my dress, then of course took another 5 because they felt the need to continue their conversation as if they were good at multitasking.
