ACE left me high and dry on moving day, telling me the movers "were too tired to move my stuff." Read more below...
On 6/25/08 I made an appt with Ace Moving & Storage to move my property from 272 Grand Street, #11 in Bklyn NY to my new address in Bklyn on Tuesday, 7/1/08 at 2 PM. I spoke with an assoc named Frank who quoted me a price of $340 and confirmed that they could take care of the job. I was called on 6/30 to reconfirm the move date and time and received a confirmation #. At 2:15 PM on 7/1 I called Ace because the movers had not come. The associate I spoke to, Elli, was both curt and disinterested, informing me that one of their trucks was in an accident and the other scratched a car and that he could not guarantee that they would be able to move me that day. I informed him that it was fine if it was later in the day, but I needed to vacate the apartment by the end of day on 7/1. Again, he told me that he couldn't guarantee anything. I went to the office of Ace to speak with Elli and Frank and hopefully reach an arrangement of some sort. When I arrived, Elli informed me that he had no time for "people like me" and Frank assured me that Ace would get me moved that day. After this assurance, I returned to my apartment and attempted to find another moving company. Being that it was the first of the month and a day-of move, I was unable to secure an appointment with any other moving company. I called Ace every hour to check on the status of my supposed movers and asked if they could send one person with a truck whom I could work with to move my property. I spoke with Frank 3 times and he informed me that my move was next, 3 times. He told me the movers were finishing a job in the city on Wooster St. and that they would be at my apartment in "a 1/2 hr." Finally, the 4th time I called Ace at 7 PM on July 1, Frank put Elli on the phone, who proceeded to tell me that the movers were too tired to move anyone else that day. Being in a somewhat dire situation, I asked if they could honor the contract first thing Wednesday morning, July 2nd. He said no. They were fully booked and hung up.

You know how please i was with the move today. I'd hired ya'll to get my stuff out of storage in new Rochelle and down to my apt. on west 164th street. I must admit that i had trepidations about the move- given that the new apt. is a fifth floor walk-up. I shouldn't have. Your men( led by tibor- sp?) - were indefatigable. Really rather amazing in fact.
It isn't just the actual moving that made this such a terrific experience. It really was their demeanor from start to finish . They arrived early, loaded with exceptional speed, and then, just got down to business at hand once they'd gotten down to Manhattan. I have to say that after i called ya'll i reported on the move to a few friends, and was raving about the experience, and will continue to do so for some time.
You'll see this isn't coming from a very satisfied customer, but also as a theater critic- and as you know, We tend to be pretty tough customers.

To All Ace Who Assisted With My Move :
i recently relocated to Seattle WA with ace moving & storage. I initially spoke with Diane regarding the move. She was very helpful and accurate in estimating my amount of cubic feet once i went over my furniture list with her. She was also very helpful in how to protect certain precious items.
On the day of the move the truck arrived when scheduled and the movers where terrific. Everything was blanket wrapped and loaded onto the truck efficiency. I have moved 3 other times in the past 10 years and this by far was my best experience. Thank you
to Ace and all it's employees for making a stressful time
