I thought Karin had been doing an okay job cutting my hair. She just typically trimmed it, but this past time I asked her to dust the bottoms and layer the rest. She cut 3 inches off the bottom and did not blend the layers. It looked terrible! I had to have another hairdresser fix what she messed up and now my hair is super short. I will NEVER go back to this place. Karin is actually leaving 120 and opening a place in Fayetteville called Rose & Co. Only go there if you want your hair butchered!

Pros: Nothing positive to say about this place

Cons: Karin can't cut hair

I was sent to this site .

I am disgusted by this review of Kristi and her salon, Artistry. She is a talented colorist and cutter. The fact that technology such as the internet can be used to harm someone and/ or their lively hood is something to rethink.

This review is only mean spirited. I now know why I don't utilize this review site.

I recently went to "Artistry in Hanover" currently owned by Kristi Bittetti, formally of "120 Salon" and to say I had a horrible experience would be giving Kristi, her 'business' and the staff more credit than they deserve. Kristi runs a disreputable establishment that I would NEVER recommend to ANYONE. Not only is their work poor (to say the least) but their customer service is appalling!! The staff is rude and if you are a first time customer, they make you feel incredibly unwelcome. Kristi has absolutely NO integrity, she is incredibly arrogant and treats 1st time clients like children. I went there for the first time upon which my hair was butchered by Denise and Kristi was incredibly unprofessional, rude and quite frankly, out of line. NEVER go to this "salon" or deal with Kristi - she does not deserve to be in business. There are PLENTY of great salons in the Syracuse area - DO NOT waste your time or money at "Aristry in Hanover"" it is an utterly dishonorable business and Kristi is an even more untrustworthy owner.

I find it very interesting that these negative reviews are coming in about me in April, when I left the 120 Salon in December. If you take the time to look at the other reviews, I would say 90% of them have all been good reviews. Then suddenly (after leaving the 120 salon) I get negative reviews. Again hmmmmmmmmmm I wonder who is really writing these reviews. Also, I am sorry if I didn't contact all of my clients about the move. If I had misplaced some clients numbers, I was hoping that they would have google searched me and found my new location.

I went here a couple months ago and had some hilights. Kristi did them and they were ORANGE. I have dark hair and it's hard for me to find someone who can actually give me what I want. (not orange) In a long attempt to find somone I finally did at Liz Lanza's. I am not sure why people in Syracuse can't do what my new colorist made seem so easy..hmm. I don't recomment this place. If you want professional and expert service, try Jillian at Liz Lanza's!

I went to Kristi here a few months back. Thank GOD she is gone. She absolutely butchered my hair. The color she did was OK but the cut looked like something Edward Scissorhands would do. I went back to the salon to see if they good fix it, they couldn't. Not sure what kind of shop they run around there, but it seems nobody knows what they are doing.

I love my hairstylist, and when she left 120 to start her own place, "Artistry in Hanover", I wanted to give her a great review on Citysearch - but it seems that there is only this 120 salon listing, so I am going to post here...

Anyway, Artistry is such a nice, fresh new place, and they also have great spa services, like a make-up artist on staff, and now they sell jewelry, and do mani/pedis too. I am going to definitely stick w/ them!

I have been a long time customer of the 120 salon. recently my stylist left without even telling me! Bill the receptionist was kind enough to fit me in with karin.
karin the owner of the 120 salon did a great haircut on me. I will continue to stay with the120 salon and order my make up online.

My hair was a mess. Long roots with old highlights, terrible cut, and even sections of missing hair that had been pulled out by badly removed extensions. About as bad as it gets. I went to Artistry in Hanover, and Kristi worked miracles. I actually had a new (fake) ponytail I had been wearing to camouflage the horrible cut, which almost matched the color of my hair, but not quite...

Kristi was able to not only match my new highlights to my old ones, with no demarcation mark at all, but she added a second color so that my hair now perfectly matches the ponytail. On top of that, she somehow managed to give me a cute, fun haircut as well, so I can actually wear my hair down as well. I am from NYC and was very nervous about switching colorists, but I had seen Kristi's work at a Bare Minerals event they had in the spa, and I decided to give her a chance.

Thank goodness there is a real, quality salon in Syracuse! And the price was so much better than NYC. I left totally satisfied. I know all of the other stylists seem to be constantly busy as well, and I am really excited to give their salon free reign over my hair as I grow it out again and keep the color beautiful.

I recently located to this area and saw on the reviews this was the place to go. Unfortunately, my experience was less than good. I wanted a specific color and told the girl I wanted no warmth in my blonde. ( I pull brasiness) When she was done it was quite gold/orange. I figure someone with exceptional skills would know how to formulate a non-warm color. Not here anyway. She did try to correct it with something but it made it darker and non- matching to my ends. AHHHH. The other employees were standoffish and not helpful. It was a cold feeling. Not to mention parking was a mess. Luckily for me, I did find a place a few blocks away @ Liz Lanza's. I read their reviews as well and they were all great so I gave them a try. What a breath of fresh air. Perfection. Kudos to them. Salon 120....thumbs down.

After moving to the Syracuse area in August, I was really wary about finding a new stylist. I had been going to the same stylist in Philadelphia for about 10 years. I also have long (mid-back), naturally curly hair (spiral "Botticelli" curls 0.5-1"), and did not want to sacrifice length nor have something awkward for my hair.

I went to a couple of places downtown, but the staff at One 20 Salon were very friendly when I walked in the door. I was greeted by Felicia (a stylist), and chatted with her and Bill (the manager) about what I wanted. They were much more welcoming than the other place I had visited, and I made an appointment for two days later.

The cut itself was today. I was a few minutes early, and Karin, the owner, took me right away. I sat in her chair and we talked about what I wanted, what my usual routine was, and my overall "hair history". She looked at my hair as it was to assess the curls and my straight bangs in their dry state. I told her I wanted to keep as much length as possible, but needed shaping to really bring out the curl. We then moved on to shampoo and cut.

When I went in, my hair fell to about mid-back (bottom of bra strap). The longest layer in the back now reaches there when I stretch it out, and she maybe trimmed an inch or so. Because the excess weight is gone, it's curlier, but still long and falls well below my shoulders. She layered the rest of my hair (always what has worked best for me), with angles from my face and a lot of shape that dried beautifully. My hair now has a lot more of a style to it. We also talked about products, but I didn't feel like they were pushed on me. She also trimmed my bangs on my request, and they look exactly as I wanted them (blunt cuts don't work on them).

I am absolutely thrilled that I found Karin and her salon. She listened to me when I told her I wanted (extremely important!), and the end product is great. A haircut under $40 is also a wonderful thing.

I am a longtime 120 customer and Kristi client. I also just heard she's relocating Jan. 6th, 2009, to reVamp salon located at 325 So. Clinton St. in Armory Square. If you are looking to reach Krisit you can catch her there at 422-4724.

After moving to the area months ago and searching high and low for someone to cut and color my hair, I have finally found the 120 Salon. I really like the dowtown, funky atmoshpere. I have never been happier with my hair or color than I am right now. There is a slight "standoffish" vibe from the staff (everyone except Bill). But, if you are there to get a great cut and color and not a lot of conversation, then you are in the right place.

If you?re looking for an inviting atmosphere, reasonable prices, and incredible results, the 120 Salon is for you. Particularly, Kristi is an extremely skilled colorist, whom I consider myself lucky to have found. (When I first moved to the area from California, I tried a few other salons, one of which turned my hair green and ruined the shirt I was wearing. Not such a good introduction to CNY). Kristi completely rehabilitated my hair?it looks natural, only better. For highlights, lowlights, etc. she?s amazing?and incidentally, she?s delightful too?

I went to the One 20 Salon after researching color experts on-line -- my hair was fried and the color was awful!! My hairdresser moved away about 1 year ago and I have been in hair hell since then!! I went to Kristi and she was friendly, compassionate and made me feel comfortable the minute I sat down. Kristi went to work and gave me back the hair color I had been missing for months!!! She is a true expert and can "fix" whatever hair problem you have -- I will never go anywhere else!! Please believe me and give her a call if you have given up on healthy, shiny great hair! She will make you a believer again.

I recently moved to the Syracuse area and read all the reviews about Kristi Bitetti at the 120 Salon. I decided to give her a try. I was thrilled with the outcome, she took time to talk to me about exactly what I wanted from my cut and color. She is a master colorist and her work shows it. The atmosphere of the salon was comfortable and welcoming. I would certainly recommend this salon to others.

After moving to the Syracuse area from Washington DC, I was looking for a new salon and stylist to go to for all of my beauty needs. Starting with a basic haircut I went to 120 Salon and Kristi because of positive reviews and ratings but ended up highly disappointed. The atmosphere is wonderfully eclectic and comfy but the service was dismal. My appointment was on a weekday in the morning (NOT during a busy time) yet Kristi maintained a conversation with a previous client during my entire cut, barely speaking to me after we decided what she would do. The cut was average even though I told her to do whatever she thought it needed. As a first time client who was trying to find someone to consistently go to this experience helped to make the decision that 120 Salon and Kristi were not where I wanted to give my business.

I went to this salon for the first time today. My hairdresser was the owner of the salon. She took me 20 minutes late, even though I was on time and had an appointment. I told her I wanted a trim and my side bangs reshaped. She even asked while cutting my hair if I wanted it below my shoulders and I said yes. She gave me a unique cut that was not desirable. She cut more than four inches off my hair and gave me short straight bangs. She also added short layers. My hair is now above my shoulders in a cut I despise. It was obvious that I was not happy with the cut and she did nothing to remedy the situation. Even though I know several people who are happy with the service at this salon, I would never recommend this horrible salon to anyone.

I was finally ready to get my hair chopped off. I'm graduating college and was ready for a more mature and professional length. I chose 120 Salon because it has excellent reviews, so my hopes were high. I went in and the people were incredibly friendly. The atmosphere is so funky, yet classy and warm. The service was prompt, but had I been made to wait, I would've been quite happy to sit in the lovely couches and soak up the place for awhile. When I was taken back, Kristi was very interested and attentive in hearing what I wanted done. Unlike other reviewers have said, she was not rough with my hair. She got soap in my ear, but I suppose it happens. The cut itself was pretty unextraordinary - nothing special. She did cut my bangs a little too short. Also, even though I had seven inches taken off, I really didn't even feel like I had had a haircut. In fact, some one I see on a regular basis told me that very same day that it looked like my hair was getting longer. Weird. I don't know if this is a good or a bad thing. She didn't style my hair completely dry, and it looked kind of frizzy. I think I do a better job. On the other hand, had I said I wanted more taken off, or something else done after she had already finished, I'm positive she would've done it without any problem. Kristi is very friendly, attentive and makes you feel like you are the most important person in the place. Nonetheless, my hair turned out just average.

This is the SALON if you are looking for a precision hair cut, color that looks totally natural blending with your skin tone, and an atmosphere that is relaxing and eclectic. Kristi is a master colorist who is an artist in her trade that transformed my cut rate salon look & cheap color into perfection. She listened to me carefully, then studied my hair and analyzed color swatches then told me what she felt would work best. Using four Goldwell colors, I walked away with 125.00 less in my wallet but felt and looked like a million bucks. This was worth every penny and I have finally found a salon I love. The manager Bill walked out with me to show me where it was legal to park & told me he would put money in the meter while my color was processing. Kristi recommended several tips for color retention including THE best smelling products she used on my hair but did not push me into buying . Parking was not problem just plan on leaving 10 minutes early to find spot and bring quarters. The salon is bringing in Rare Minerals Makeup so you can find the right colors without trial and error. After decades of searching for a salon I would return to, I found perfection.

I've been going to the 120 Salon for the past three years, and now three of my best friends go as well. Why? The atmosphere! The service! The attention to detail! This is no snotty trendy salon, nor is it some place where everyone has blue hair or the same crappy cut. This is simply THE BEST place I've found in CNY. (And I'm from NYC and have had $50 to $500 haircuts from Village hair shops to Bumble & Bumble... I tried 10 different places throughout the Syracuse area before I landed at the 120 Salon.)

The stylists here are all really good. In particular, I'm in love with Kristi Bitetti and Denice. (And I have to tell you that Bill is the MAN! You aren't anyone unless Bill calls to remind you about your appointment!) Truthfully, these are real hardworking people and they aim to please. If you have issues with timing, your cut, your color -- JUST OPEN YOUR MOUTH and SAY SOMETHING! Everytime I go, we chit chat, we laugh, and I leave looking gorgeous. Kristi is always coming back from some show with new techniques and is always ready to take the extra step. The other thing?? No one pushes products on me, and if I'm not quite satisfied (yes, they are human -- and folks, it's just hair) I just say so, and I come back for a quick redo/refresh.

Bottom line: I've been so happy that three of my best friends, husbands (who love TOM!), and many others go regularly, and I've been asked who does my hair so many times (from perfect strangers) that I know several others who have found a home there too. (I should keep my mouth shut, or be able to get an appt. anymore!)

The 120 Salon is a special place. It's like the "Cheers" of hair salons. I sit down, get a glass of wine, and relax. I leave looking beautiful. What more could you ask for?

Kristi, Denice, Bill, Tom.... you are the best. See you in six weeks for a trim...

I've had my hair cut and colored by Kristi at the 120 Salon ever since I moved to Syracuse in 2003. Besides being a practical and creative stylist, she is a highly educated master colorist. As someone with A LOT of hair, who receives both overall color for gray coverage, as well as highlights, I am always impressed with Kristi's attention to detail as well as her concern for the health of my hair. She has pointed me towards some of my favorite hair products (which she's always tested before suggesting!) without the pushy sales technique I found common at other salons I've used over the years. Since I've been Kristi's client she has given me everything from long layers to a short round bob. I've always been pleased with my cuts and am thrilled at how well the styles compliment my color (and vice-versa).

I also can't say enough great things about 120 stylist Denise, who has often assisted Kristi when working on my hair. She's got an amazing eye for style, has always given me beautiful blow-outs/drys, and more recently made my eyebrows look amazing. If you're looking for a first-class men's haircut or any cut that needs precision look no further than Tom! My husband has never looked better since Tom started cutting his hair.

As a busy mom of two I truly love my visits to the 120 Salon. Lots of fun people, a relaxed atmosphere, and I always leave feeling refreshed and beautiful.

Kristi at the One 20 salon in Armory Square knows her stuff. I came in without knowing what to expect. As a 20 year old girl, who has been coloring her hair for the past 4 years and constantly changing the tone, I haven't been able to find a single place where I I feel confident that the results will be exceptional every time. Here, at One 20, Kristi delivers A+ work--I have finally found the right place to color my hair.
Upon first speaking with Kristi, she listened carefully to what I wanted: a light brown- medium blonde base with a few settle highlights. Without saying anything, she analyzed the appropriate color for my skin tone and finally mixed her own. For a relatively reasonable cost of $125, she applied all over color + a few highlights, and a toner to get rid of any brassiness. In Boston, her services would have cost much more.
For the first time in a while, I love my hair!

I had Krisi for a cut and color-- and she was BRUTAL with my hair. She was so rough cutting, combing it even washing it !

I think next time I go there, I will try someone else-- that is.. if I even go back.

Recently I went to the 120 Salon and was fortunate enough to have my hair done by Rose. I have NEVER been happier with my hair (and my eyebrows:-) ). I told her to just do whatever she thought what look best both cut and color and I and everyone absolutely love it. Even my 4 year old son said "Wow Mommy your hair looks so pretty!" I was amazed at Rose's attention to detail and the patience she showed while meticulously putting the highlights in my hair. You can clearly see that she loves what she does. The salon itself has a wonderful decor and the ambience is perfect. I cannot complete this review without mentioning also what genuinely approachable and friendly person Rose is. When I left the salon I felt like I had just spent the afternoon with one of my best girlfriends. I can't wait for my hair to grow out and see what Rose will do next!!

Other clients may love Kristi (especially as a colorist), but she gave me what's best described as the most brusque haircut ever. Even though I was on time she rushed to finish. The way she handled and combed my hair was really rough. When I left the salon I felt anything but relaxed and positive. And to top it all off, I later realized she had parted my hair slightly lop-sided before cutting it, therefore necessitating some corrective scissor-work at home. I have to believe there are better hair stylists in Syracuse.

120 Salon is AMAZING! I went to Kristi after having my hair cut by only one stylist for my entire life. I'm SO sad that I just found her in my senior year at SU. She cut my hair dry, which surprised me at first, but she did such a great job and just by the look on her face when she's done, you can tell that she truly loves what she does. Not only did she do a great job with my hair, but she also waxed my eyebrows and they look fantastic too! Getting my hair cut and my eyebrows done are two things that I swore I'd never do at any other place, but Kristi has certainly changed my mind!

Pros: Great prices, excellent service, very friendly atmosphere.

Lisa Mcknight at the 120 Salon has consistently given me several excellent hair cuts. She also worked with me to prepare for several important meetings and events and I couldn't have had a successful presentation withut her assistance. She provides stylist services, coloring, make up and waxing...all in accomodatin with my schedule - highly recommend Lisa for anyone, but especially for professional women who want to look appropriately stylish!

I am new to the area and have read many reviews about Kristi Bitetti at the 120 Salon, so I decided to give her a try. When I first arrived at the salon, I was greated by a friendly salon manager. The salon is very trendy, welcoming, and has a relaxed atmosphere. I had a consult with Kristi and I described what I wanted and didn't want. She listened to my every need and the outcome was just what I wanted. I can honestly say it was the best cut that I have ever received. At this first visit I discovered that she is a master colorist through goldwell, so I decided to rebook and appointment with her to give her a try with color. Once again I was thrilled with my results. I also found out that she has her own website that I think you should visit to see the salon and her work. I wish I had known of the site in the first place. It's www.kristibitetti. She has hooked me as a client.

I'm looking for a salon were not only will I receive an awesome cut but will be treated with respect as an intelligent consumer! SALON OWNERS-consider that this business grows only on return customers!!!!!!!

I went to the 120 Salon twice, and the first time, I was not terribly pleased with the stylist. I thought it was rushed and chopped, but I figured I would try it again and try someone different. My second time around I had an experienced stylist, and I was extremely dissatisfied with the cut. My requests in terms of cut were not met, and the stylists took it upon herself to give me a very unique look, without asking my opinion. After returning to salon my hair was reshaped as best as possible, but my money was not refunded, and I was made to feel like the stylists assumptions were my fault. Overall I felt the cut was very rushed and inaccurate, my requests were not met and ignored, and there was no compensation nor compassion for a poorly done job. I would not recommend this salon.

This salon has pretty furnitures and the interior is hip. But once you get in there, there are chopped hair all over and everything is covered with dust! Ugh. Also the stylist who color my hair gave no consultation at all. I don't even know what she used to color my hair. Very speedy yet unprofessional. I'm not planning to go back.

First off - Kristi B of the 120 Salon is AMAZING!! I have tried numerous salons in Syracuse - all with VERY disappointing results- (so much so that I traveled to NYC to have my hair done)... until now :)! I had my hair highlighted and cut by Kristi, and I couldn't be more pleased. As some others have written, Kristi attends classes to ensure that she knows the latest trends She really listened to what I wanted and delivered the perfect golden blonde highlights and sexy layered cut! She is one of the best, most talented colorists I have ever been to - well worth the $$!

I recently went to Kristi Bitetti at the 120 Salon on Walton Street, and have never been more satisfied with a cut and color in my life! I am currently a senior at Syracuse University, and I wish I had found her sooner. Not only did I love the cut and color, but the way she blew it out was amazing as well. I usually have to go home and redo my hair. The atmosphere was fun, and trendy. Kristi informed me that she regularly attends classes to keep up with the newest techniques. I definitely liked the fact that she was picky about the final outcome of my hair because it showed how much she really valued me as a client, and wanted me to look just as good as I hoped I would. I highly recommend her!

I was fortunate to win a free haircut, courtesty of Tom. (Charity event) He was wonderful! The first time he cut my hair, he did exactly what I wanted -- keeping it long, he removed some damaged, frizzy ends that made me look horrible. In two weeks, I decided I wanted the rest off, and he obliged, giving me one of the best short shags I've ever had. Next up, Kristi (master colorist) took the time correct my home dye job --giving me a shimmering highlights and lowlights really complementing the cut Tom gave me. But perfectionist that she is, she invited me to return, gratis, to add a few more lowlights because they weren't exactly as she expected. Now that's service! I highly recommend this salon.
