Light years beyond Static Stretching, AIS restores freedom of movement
  • Relieve neck & back pain
  • Restore range of motion
  • Increase athletic ability

Want to lose your pain or be a better athlete? Active Isolated Stretching and Strengthening (AIS+S, the Mattes Method) is an amazing physical therapy that can restore your ACTIVE range of motion, alleviate functional imbalances, initiate neuromuscular re-education and increases muscle elasticity! AIS+S often relieves chronic pain (back, neck, wrist, etc.), helps arthritis, releases stress and improves your posture. Many of Diane's clients have tried massage, chiropractic or physical therapy, but nothing has helped as much as AIS+S. A trainer and healer in San Francisco for 20+ years, Diane Waye has been sharing the benefits of Active Isolated Stretching for 11 years after completing an immersion apprenticeship with her mentor Aaron Mattes. She also is a Continuing Education Provider and certified Gold personal trainer for the American Council on Exercise and a Yoga & Pilates teacher.

let diane save you from yourself! 5 Star Rating - World class

Diane relieved some back and shoulder pain I had AND helped me with my sitting and standing posture. Not only was my pain gone but she gave me so many tools to prevent it and helped me fix things that I didn't even know were wrong so my body feels really good! I had never heard of AIS but I'm a believer now. In the past I would get a massage here and there to try to relieve the tension but that would only last a day or two. With the stretching and Diane's tips, the tension and pain are gone. Plus a huge bonus is Diane's sweet spirit. It's so refreshing to have someone so positive and nurturing take care of you. Go see Diane! Highly Recommend!

Pros: skill, warmth, entire program, ez public transport

Waye cool stretching therapy 5 Star Rating - World class

Diane's sparkling personality and nurturing disposition make her a natural champ at healing work. Active isolate stretching and strengthening is a gentle approach to holistic wellness and Diane is delightful to work with. And despite her own lengthy journey back from chronic pain, she keeps her own body in such exquisite shape and alignment that it provides inspiration and hope for the rest of us.

Miracle Worker! 5 Star Rating - World class

I went to see Diane for shoulder & back pain and her knowledge of the body & expertise truly amazed me. I had tried several other "remedies", massage, swimming, etc and Diane targeted the exact location of the problem area and fixed it! Even better taught me simple stretches to do at home to keep the pain away. She has a gift for fixing what ails you!
On another note, Diane introduced me to a wonderful wellness juice called MonaVie, which helps joints and relieves aches & pains....and gives me a lot more energy!

Thanks Diane

I always turn to Diane first when I have injured myself or if I'm feeling some unusual joint pain. I've been to chiropractors, massage therapists, cranial sacral workers, acupuncture, and acupressure, but I've found her Active Isolated Stretching(AIS) technique works wonders quickly. The results are pretty long lasting compared to some of these other treatments plus she gives you a way to work on your health problems yourself. Diane's always cheerful, never preachy, and just a fabulous example of someone who's own injuries were helped by these techniques. I can't recommend her enough!

Pros: you'll feel much better the day after you see her
Cons: you might feel a little extra tired or physically off right after a visit.
