They misrepresented service contract. We hired them to repair a refrigerator that they could not get running correctly. Several attempts, additional labor cost, rude employees. My mother is suffering from cancer and we are caring for her. We have been without a refrigerator for months and they still cant fix it. Now they tell us that the recent part ordered will not arrive until another three weeks.

I don't get it. I signed up for a maintenance plan and got some routine service done yesterday. 18 hours later, my indoor unit mysteriously falls from the wall and ceiling it was mounted to and you charge me $500 to fix it? Didn't you break it in the 1st place - now I'm being charged to fix what you broke? I'm an extremely unsatisfied customer. I called you guys because I wanted someone that was reliable, that I could trust with my business going forward and not have to worry about it. Just write the checks and trust that all is well. Doesn't look like you're that business and it's a shame.\n\n_________\n\nUPDATE: They called me and explained what happened. When the unit was installed it was done so incorrectly. I'm not holding AATC responsible for this. They explained to me that it *actually* wasn't their fault, and are giving me 1/2 off their regular rate for fixing it. A frustrating situation, but they're resolving it for me. Will report back if anything changes, but they've made me feel a lot better. Upping to 3 stars from 1.

Jack arrived puntually.\nHe not only advised me of a few things that we could do to optimize our energy use and system maintenance, but also found that the heat would not work on ""auto"".\nIt seems that the unit had been installed by someone else without a jumper wire in the thermostat, so it only worked on ""On"". He fixed that, took care of some mold, and cleaned the coil at what I felt was a reasonable price. He was also very personable. Won't hesitate to recommend them to friends.

I was renting a home in Coconut Creek and was constantly smelling gas fumes in the house. I have a family member in the AC business and when they saw the AC unit in garage, they said it was bc of the way the AC was installed. Rather than using clean air from the house to cool, it was also sucking air from garage into the house. The unit was not sealed properly. air around clock had put their sticker on the unit so I knew it was them who installed. Sloppy work. When I called them, I read serial number and they confirmed it was them who did work. After arguing with me, (they were very rude and unapologetic) the self-proclaimed owner came out to see the unit. I told them they could fix it or I would call the city bc a permit wasn't pulled and this job would not have passed inspection and that I refuse to be subjected to those fumes due to their poor job. They had to assume responsibility and told me they would fix it. A couple weeks later, they came out and put a 2x4 slab of wood over the large gap that was sucking in air (didn't even caulk the hole). If was a half-a** attempt to fix something they did wrong years ago. It never fixed the smell completely but I ended up moving out. Good luck to the next tenants who have to smell those horrible fumes thanks to air around the clock's unprofessional installation. I would never call them to do anything in my house. It's amazing they are still in business...and after reading these reviews, I can see I'm not the only one!!!!!

8/24, 2011 I wrote this letter to ARC..\nI would like to file a formal complaint and to request a refund of monies paid for an air condition repair. Air Around the Clock has been our service provider for over 12 years and we have always been satisfied with your services, however now I am extremely disgruntled.\n\nWe purchased a new unit 8/22/09 from your company for $5,590.00 and the unit has a 10 year warrantee. On 8/18/2011, we came into our home realizing the air was not cooling. We both work and typically arrive home after 6pm most nights. We called for help and appreciated a repairman coming over to our home within in the hour to diagnose the problem which took all of 20 minutes. This was at a cost of $175.00 due to it being an emergency call. Then I was informed that the part was covered under warrantee but the labor was not, so the part would be ordered and installed the next day with a labor cost of $ 295.00. With 90+ degree weather in mid summer, we did not feel we had much of a choice .\t The part was installed the next day, which took approximately 1 hour, my total cost was $470.00 ? this is outrageous !!!.\n\n1.\tA brand new unit should not have a major breakage within a 2 year period; the unit was not mishandled in our home.\n2.\tand why should the consumer be strapped with the labor cost, this should also be passed on the manufacturer, it?s a new unit ? it shouldn?t break.\n3.\tWhy the emergency call of $175.00 was not waived or included in the $295.00 labor cost is certainly not fair. We didn?t know the unit was broken until we arrived home, I would not consider 6:30 ? 7:00pm being ?emergency time?, maybe 11 ? 12pm yes, but not early evening when 85% of all working peoples arrive home from work.\tPlus the situation was not even solved the evening of the ?emergency call?. I have never worked with a company that did not waive their ?service call? if there were parts & labor cost of the repair.\n4.\tI really have a problem paying $470.00 for 1 hour and 20 minutes of labor for a less than 2 year old unit. These are hard times and my monies are tight, I would think a company as reputable as Air Around the Clock would be a little sensitive to their loyal clientele?.. We have two a/c units in our home. We replaced the largest unit a year ago and also purchased a maintenance agreement for both a/c units. This company kept ""reminding"" us that the a/c units were due for maintenance check ups. Their tech came out and checked both indoor units. All was well. Both were cooling and working fine. As it was lightly raining, the tech was only able to check one outside unit, thank goodness. Conveniently, a couple of days later, the unit on which the tech worked, quit cooling. Another tech from this company came out and said the unit needed a $600 repair or better yet, we needed a new a/c unit. We declined both and called another a/c company. Turns out the repair was less than $300 with fewer parts involved than the original assessment. I am totally convinced that the a/c unit was sabotaged by the tech doing the maintenance. Today, another person shared that the same thing happened to them with Air Around the Clock. What a racket! I spoke with Doug at AAC who professed disbelief that I would think such a thing. We have two a/c units in our home. We replaced the largest unit a year ago and also purchased a maintenance agreement for both a/c units. This company kept ""reminding"" us that the a/c units were due for maintenance check ups. Their tech came out and checked both indoor units. All was well. Both were cooling and working fine. As it was lightly raining, the tech was only able to check one outside unit, thank goodness. Conveniently, a couple of days later, the unit on which the tech worked, quit cooling. Another tech from this company came out and said the unit needed a $600 repair or better yet, we needed a new a/c unit. We declined both and called another a/c company. Turns out the repair was less than $300 with fewer parts involved than the original assessment. I am totally convinced that the a/c unit was sabotaged by the tech doing the maintenance. Today, another person shared that the same thing happened to them with Air Around the Clock. What a racket! I spoke with Doug at AAC who professed disbelief that I would think such a thing. My wife asked Ashley if she was a part owner of the company or was related to the owners.ASHLEY's answer? ""What business is that of yours?"" My wife asked how she could be so dismissive of long term customers specially when they were trying to get me to do $5 / $6,000 of new AC work. I got on the phone with Ashley. I told her not to bother sending anyone, that I was going to hire another company for ALL the work, that I would call the 3 people I knew were using AIr Around Clock to tell them about my dissatisfaction plus the BBB. I asked to speak to an owner. Shortly, ERIC gets on and tells me he's the owner. I tell him exactly what I had told Ashley. His reply? ""Oh, ok"".\r\nI have followed through and sincerely hope others read this and avoid Air Around the Clock like the plague!

Yes, I said 35 years old - and was working only from from day to day at minimal, the AC was corroded, moldy, rusty, and loud! I wanted to take this opportunity to write this letter of thanks to your company for recently installing a new Rheem A/C split level system in my condo. I'm especially grateful for the two gentlemen you sent out to investigate the problem I was having with my 12 year old unit. Jeremy and Mark came to my residence on May 7th which was also on the same day that I called about the problems I was having with my A/C unit. There were on time, professional, and courteous. They spent about 40 minutes identifying the causes of the problems. They were extremely patient with all my questions. At no time did I ever feel pressured to purchase a new unit. They simply laid out the facts and explained what the best course of action would be. With the summer months coming I decided to move forward with a new system. It was one of the best purchases I ever made. The next day the Installers arrived to dismantle the old unit and replace it with the new one. It was a long day for both of them but by early evening my new A/C unit was turned on and began cooling off the residence. The new unit runs much quieter and more efficient. I am confident that it will run smoothly through the coming months and the high temperatures to come.

I was having problems with my A/C unit, and within the hour that I called ATC they were out at my house to diagnose the problem. The technician they sent out was very competent and courteous, and made sure that he explained everything he was doing in detail so I would understand it. I would definitely recommend ATC to anyone that wants prompt and accurate service.

Since the installation, we've been cited by the City of Boca for their omission of a permit for the job, had the unit breakdown at least a dozen times, and been tortured by their poor service culture. Today, I've finally had it, the representative Eric whom I spoke to on the phone, cursing and yelling at me while I attempted to stand my ground on their service agreement. My guests who are visiting from out of town have to avoid my home today while we sit and wait for Eric and his service team to deal with the myriad other poor folks in the same spot as us. \n\nOur 1 Year ATC Service agreement and 24-Hour on call service is a joke. Don't use ATC for service, installation, or purchasing a new air conditioner unit unless you are a self-loathing masochist. You will not be happy, impressed, satisfied, or at home in a comfortably moderated climate. ATC...by the way, if you're reading this....make sure to check out all the other places I'm going to post the same exact thing. The best was 'Air Around the Clock' in Boca Raton, who would install our system for an agreed cash price.
