I've lived here for six months now and I love it. It's clean, staff is friendly, maintenance is very reliable and will fix any problems promptly. Large dogs are welcome and they supply baggies to pick up after your dogs, so most people do so. I definitely recommend this as a great place to live.\n\nPros: Large windows. Washer and dryer in unit. Lofts available. Nice blinds. Wood flooring. Upgraded appliances. Discount cable and internet. Elevators in each building. Gym, basketball court and tennis courts.\n\nCons: Parking can be hard to find. Not everyone picks up after their dogs. Noise from nearby interstate.

I have lived at Village Oaks for a year paying $1135 on a 12-month lease. I then opted for a shorter 3-month lease at $1295. Now they want me to pay $1365 for another 12-month lease instead of $1185 they offered me just last month. For a month to month, they want to charge $1775 vs. $1340 they offered last month. That's an increase of $435 in ONE MONTH! I even tried to work with them to get it straightened out, but the bottom line is they're screwing me because I did the short lease. Extremely unprofessional and a blatant ripoff! DO NOT MOVE HERE if you don't want to be taken by surprise by ridiculous rent increases. Also, there is no security at night. Anyone can get through the gate behind another car, and recently my neighbor's motorcycle was stolen right out of the parking lot.

I have lived here for almost a year, and my boyfriend has been in there for 3. Overall it is a nice complex, every apartment community has its flaws that others mentioned below, so I fail to see how they would be happy anywhere.\n\nYes, the trash does pile up some times on the weekends, because apparently the other residents are too stupid to figure out how to work a trash compactor even though there are directions clearly posted on it. \n\nI imagine TV reception in an apartment would suck, but that would be for all apartments in general, and all the communities i've seen are bright house only, not just this one.\n\nYes sometimes you hear the neighbors through the walls, but so i life in an apartment of newer construction. The inside of the units are great, tile in the kitchen and foyer, upgraded all black appliances, dark wood cabinets, crown molding, garden tubs, huge bathrooms. And I have plenty of room by the washer dryer next to the kitchen for a 13 gallon trash can.\n\nThe gates do malfunction occasionally, but lately the problem seems to be rare. Parking isn't in issue at my building, but i can see it would cause problems in some of the corner buildings, so just choose wisely. \n\nThe pool and deck are nice, if there are cans left out by other rude residents the staff pick them up when they arrive in the mornings. \nAnd I have ALWAYS had a wonderful experience with the staff. A little courtesy on your part goes a long way. The ladies up front are great and always helpful, then again i always pay rent on time and never have complaints issued against me. \n\nThere is one thing lately bothering me though. In an effort to fill the complex rent prices have dropped, so even though im stuck at a high rate from before, there are some less than favorable people moving in due to the lower pricing. I have seen a dramatic rise in the number of cars in the parking lot in conditions that say a lot about the owners, if you know what i mean. There have been issues with people playing loud music from their stereos in the evening and into the night, but not enough to aggravate me.

Over the air TV reception is limited in some apartments. Bright house is the only broadband internet service provider for this apartment, bright house broadband internet connection goes down very often, calls take almost 15 min time and appointments are usually 4-5 days away, apartment favors bright house and don't offer choice for high speed FIOS internet connectivity causing inconvenience to the residents. \nApartment gate is wide open 24x7 but apartment complex charges for the entry cards/remotes, residents are forced to park far from their apartments on numerous occasions, no reserved parking for the residents. \nOnly one trash for the whole apartment complex with limited trash picks, trash can be often seen outside dumpster area. Poor shower speed. Water, sewer and trash bill in addition to the rent. No space for standard 13 gallon trash container near the kitchen area. \nGrowing mosquito and spider webs can be seen in the apartment patios near conservation area due to the weather conditions, apartment doesn't offer screen for patios making patios almost unusable. Pests are often found in the carpets.\nDirty swimming pool, there are signs of algae and pests, no working shower near pool, animals and cans can be found in the pool, limited gym hours. \n

I moved in about an year ago and its been awful, the staff is rude , the walls are paper thin and you can hear the noise of the highway in the back buildings! i honestly wouldn't recommend this apartment community to anyone looking, after reading all the reviews the last and only good one was probably written by the staff. My neighbors and i have all of the same complaints. Parking is awful at night, way too crowded and there are so many college students who party all hours of the night ! !When calling the staff for a question or a complaint they are rude and unhelpful especially on the weekends, they cant seem to care less about anything but their pay. I'm on the 1st floor and its awful, i can hear the people walking above us, not to mention when they talk loud, or tv is loud. Overall, it hasn't been that great of a stay. The back apartments we thought would be quieter but they are not, we have pest problems because of the woods, and noone sprays the apartments or halls. Trash is an extra 15 a month and its not worth it because you have to take out your own trash to the 6th building dumpster not close to any building but 6 and 7. The community has a sales team now and they are trying to close to sell- so its just a matter of time before we all get notices.

Pros: wood floors

Cons: can hear other neighbors echo on wood floors when the walk round, woody, awful parking , too expensive nothing included in rent price, staff is awful
