Overall very disappointing indeed.

They pride themselves in being "creme de la creme", but the reality is far from it.

Alejandro, the Owner, might sell his exquisite taste and might appear to be very charming, but trust me, unless you're the King of Spain or a celebrity, you will receive inferior treatment and service. He doesn't actually get involved in the real work - only in signing the contract to sell you his service and then three days before the event when he glides in - many times changing details at the last minute. In reality, he will assign a junior and inexperienced event coordinator who have little to no idea what they are doing.

I hired them after they sold their service to me as wedding planners with a specialty in catering. Do not believe that. They are NOT wedding/event planners.

Their service is extremely expensive, and you would expect that they would pay attention to every detail. Frankly, they paid little attention to the details; there was a huge gap between what they promised and what they delivered.

On the day of my wedding, Le Basque forgot several details, such as the flower arrangements at the church and at the reception (I was shocked when entering the church as it was bare; kind of upsetting on your big day). They also forgot to light many of the candles we had paid for, both at the church and at the reception. We had also paid for huge Venetian posts, which were supposed to explode at 12am and needless to say, never worked.

I could go on with the list of things that they failed to do and which we had paid for.

We wrote a letter to Alejandro (which if anyone is interested, I'd be more than happy to share) about six months ago, explaining how unsatisfied we were with his service - all we wanted was a simple apology. He NEVER called and completely ignored us since he already had all the payments. After mentioning to him on an email that we would write about our experience in blogs he asked to "please call him asap". We did, but not surprisingly, he never picked-up the phone nor called back, just ignored the issue.

Do NOT get sold on his charm and on his website featuring all his high-end clientele.

At the end, luckily, with the help of another wedding planner, I was able to pull together my beautiful and unforgettable wedding (of course, this meant I had to put more money down). I've had friends call me asking me to send them details about the wedding and I've recommend EVERYONE except for Le Basque. In our experience, if you want to avoid disappointment, AVOID LE BASQUE!
