I won't be going back. I've heard great reviews about Karu & Y, but unfortunately I can't report the same. Food was over cooked, definitely not worth the money.

Awesome place but beware of the drinks. Ordered 3 drinks. 1 Melon Vodka and soda & 2 RedBull Vodkas for $45.00. All of us agreed we got probably a thimbles worth of vodka. So..we never ordered anymore drinks that night. My advice to bartenders to pour a thimble worth of booze in a drink, you are only screwing yourself. We were all going to buy rounds and instead we only bought 1 round because of the little to no alcohol in the drinks. Please....dont jip people. In the end, it is you who loses out.

The first thing is this. Karu has new owners and chef. To be fair to them you must disregard any reviews before December 2008. The new owners took over and revamped the whole place from top to bottom. Including decor and staff. The place is out of control! You can basically go to five different clubs or lounges in one night without leaving. The place is huge with indoor and very tropical outdoor areas. One area has cabanas with a stream running in front of them from a reflecting pool. You cross little bridges to get to them. There are waterfalls and waterwalls all over the place. Very relaxing. The staff is great too. The bartenders are very accommodating and helpful. The security staff is a big presence there so you feel comfortable but they are not in the way. You can?t just walk through the door but at the same time, they realize how the economy is and are a little more lenient these days. They still do a great job of keeping the place packed with beautiful people and keeping the rift raft out. Now the food. One word describes the food. Ridiculous! Yes in a good way. The new chef is just amazing. There are 3 different menus. There is something for every one. If you want an incredible sit down dinner, you got it. If you want some kicked up bar food, you will be more than satisfied or if you just want a snack, you can have that too. They serve food all night long. I think until 3 or 4 am. I recommend the Kobe Beef burgers and the Lobster Corn Dogs. Yes, it is true it isn?t in the best area. However, the owners have worked out a deal with the Miami Police to beef up patrol of the area. They have valet or a good option is a cab. I took a cab from SoBe. It was $15 each way with tip. Valet is $20. For $10 more, you can take a cab from just about anywhere in SoBe. Venture downtown and check the place out. You won?t be disappointed.

This is one of Miami's best nightclubs. The staff is very helpful and accommodating. The people who come here are decent and well dressed for the most part. There are 4 rooms, one being mostly hip-hop, the terrace being house, and 2 other rooms inside with mixed music. VIP is great. We had our runner come check on us frequently and always kept our mixers topped off. Its a great place to meet people. The crowd is mostly young between 21-28 so it get lively in here. You must check this place out. And make sure you park your car valet. At $20 its cheap and your car is safe as well as you will be when you exit the club; the neighborhood is not the best. The drinks are a bit on the expensive side but well worth it. Bottles start at around $250. If you order single drinks from the bar, you can get a glass of Moet for $14, or say a single Grey goose and cranberry for about $16. Make sure you arrive early if you aren't VIP because they keep the flow of people coming in controlled and your probably going to wait a god 30-60 minutes if you arrive after 12:00.

I went on thursday 9/25 for the reopening , it was the worse experience. First of all i had reservations and was outside the club at midnight i didn't get in until 1:20am the club was way to crowded. after spending $1,200 for my party of 6 to try to be comfortable at our table in vip it got more crowded than the regular part of the floor only learning the reason behind that is because if you tipped the guard $10 or $20 he would let you into vip. i know he made money than we had to wait over an hour to get our car from vip because the forced everyone to park vip and they wouldn't give you your own keys to go get your own car. I'm really hoping that this is because it was the reopening night cause i know a lot of people who are never going again.

Pros: the club looks nice

Cons: rude workers all around, very unorganized especially for first night opening

I dont know what place these people are talking about but i LOVE this place! Great service, beautiful decor, and good music! The only bad thing is that it's location is not all that good, its in the middle of the "hood". I only recommend that you valet your car because the area is a little sketchy. Other than that VIP is ridic and the crowd is always great! Its a must when you are in Miami! Saturdays and Thursdays are really good :)!

I took my sister, my wife and 3 other girls to this club last Friday. The first problem I faceed with it is that the bars will not provide you with a detail check. They only give you the credit card summary, unless you fight with them to get you a detailed check. My bill had extra drinks or "extras" not ordered.
Second, if your wife is tired and closes her eyes while sittind down in one of the private tables that costed us about $500.00 you get kicked out and called a drunk (even though I am a designated drived who hadn't drink any achohol). Yes, I was grabbed by my neck and kicked out of the club for absolutely no reason (unless, trying to talk to a rude security guard is a reason). If you are wondering, I am a not a college kid, I am a 35 year old executive at a fortune 500 company with a PhD from the University of Maryland. And I am handicapped. NEVER GOING BACK THERE AND I URGE YOU TO BOYCOTT IT!!

This is the worst restaraunt I have ever eaten at. The waiters were completely inept, it seems as if they were hired for looks as opposed to ability. They need to fire this chef

This place has a confusion of entity, restaurant, lounge and club. What is it? If I go to a restaurant that is this upscale I expect the best from service to food. The food is weak, flavors can't comprehend. Styles don?t care for it. I guess that is the reason fine dining restaurants don't make it in this city, due to substandard Food. Is it the Chef? I guess, this is just one instance of his repeated failure to do his job.

Being in all around the world best , best restaurants is easy to say but hard to acomplish: there are already a few really good ones. Not once but about 4 - 5 times we, my husband and I and, in a couple of ocassions with our daughters and some family members and friends, had the pleasure of eat at Karu & Y. This is the only thing that I will say about a restaurant, and I think it's more that enough to say. Excellent food, gorgeous presentation, unique combination of flavors to pleased the most demanding palate. Awesome all the way!

I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY MANAGEMENT DOES NOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT THE FOOD OR WHO EVER INCHARGE IS. HONESTLY THE FOOD IS BAD. I GUESS NO ONE LISTENS. KEEP IT UP KARU; YOU ARE HEADING THE RIGHT DIRECTION. IF I WAS THE OWNER I WILL FIRE WHO EVER IS IN CHARGE OF CREATING THIS SO CALL CULINARY ARTISTRY...HORRIBLE.

Beautiful restaurant but food needs work. The decor of this place is amazing; there is a gorgeous Dale Chihuly chandelier in the center of the dining room. The waiters are dressed in very chick outfits, but in my opinion the food does not fit this place. It?s hard to understand and the menu does not have an identity. Food is not up to quality of the restaurant, prices are too high for what it is. Food wasn?t fresh and lack flavor. The couple of dishes I had did not make sense and not executed correctly. Desserts were atrocious. I hope they appoint the challenge of this establishment because it has a potential of success.
After reading the reviews now I agree with them.

I recently visited Karu for my anniversary dinner and the experience was remarkable. Aside from the beautiful decor and friendly staff, the food was delicious. I had the Kobe Steak and my boyfriend had the short ribs. The food was scrumptious ? everything was well-seasoned and tender. The chocolate dessert we shared was mouthwatering (next time I?m getting my own). After dinner, we headed to the club next door until the late hours. The night was AWESOME!! I look forward to our next visit.

And my most recent visit to Karu & Y was on New Year's Eve. It was $400 for a preset menu for two, which in my opinion, was a reasonable price considering the quality of the food served and what other restaurants were charging for that night. We started off with with duck three ways (prosciutto, confit, and foiegras) - all of which were delicious (confit being my favorite!!). The entree was a very very tasty snapper. Dessert was a variety of petitfours (choc. covered strawberries, cheesecake, mousse in choc. cups, etc). Everything was perfect, delicious & beautiful. Afterwards we walked over to the Y Lounge where the music was lowered enough for everyone to shout the countdown to midnight- AWESOME! We spent the remainder of the night dancing and drinking yummy cocktails. By far the best New Year's Eve I've ever had. I plan on celebrating my next Birthday there!! The hostess even called us a few days later to thank us for our visit & to ask if we had a pleasant time. Who could ask for more?! Karu and Y is elegant, classy, and overall a fun place to be. Those who put this chef's innovative cuisine down simply do not have the palate for fine dining. The four (or more) times I have been there I have thoroughly enjoyed myself. I have to say that the chef is always on his game because THE FOOD IS CONSISTENTLY FANTASTIC! !

I royally enjoyed the food, atmosphere and design. There are many places in Miami that dont do the restaurant and service industry justice. I am a personal friend of the chef and know that he has put his heart and soul into the taste of the food, adding his own unique touches to traditional entrees as well as creating new ones. Such a great place!

New Years Eve 600$ per couple what a rip off.... The food is horrible how they can charge this prices if they don't deliver. The steak was horrible, bland and flavorless. If this is what you call wgyu please I rather have a piece of choice steak. The snapper, again flavorless and overcooked the skin was not even crispy. If you serve a fish with skin the least I expect is to be nice and crunchy. Desserts abdominal painful, not even edible..Ok I am being a little critical but when you pay money, you expect first class. Don?t waste your time and money; go to the real restaurants like Michaels or Brosia..

WOW! When my husband and I walked in to the restaurant I was so impressed with the place that it took a while for me to remember that I was there for the food! I was already pleased with the evening even if the food would turn out ok- but I was so happy to also see how a place with all that class had also a great chef working in the kitchen and some serious great service.
you gotta love it! Try it out and you won't be sorry
thanks Karu & Y!

My husband and I decided to try restaurant again! The restaurant and lounge looks amazing but the food is another story. I ordered the red snapper, instead I received dry, flavorless fish and what appeared to look like fishsticks tasted like aged croquettas that one would buy from a grocery store. Again we aren't the most critical foodies, but it's obvious from what is good and bad, and this meal was awful. My husband and I were extremely dissapointed what started as a romantic dinner filled with high expecations ended as an insult to our palette and our pockets. Karu-y is the worst restaurant on my list no wonder Zagat gave them the worst rating in Miami. I much rather eat at Pollo Tropical than at this place. If you want to party I strongly recommend the club. But I will be boycotting the restaurant until they replace the chef.

I don't mind paying for good food but I actually felt like I was ripped off. Very disappointed, the food is really not noteworthy. I received my snapper undercooked and flavorless. Service was slow and spotty. The portions are ridiculously small and the prices are insultingly high!!! The menu does not make sense. Why are chefs trying so hard with the Alta Cocina, what happen to excellent simple food just cooked right and that taste like what it suppose to be. Karu and Y are in my worst restaurant repertoire. I feel sorry for the owner because with this Chef who knows how long they will last. "Falling short of a standard of what is satisfactory".

I had the best meal at Karu & Y, and it was out of this world. The atmosphere is incredible--beautiful gardens and decor, even in the middle of downtown would you not expect this gem of a place.

The staff was so accommodating and nice. We had a friend with us who had dietary restrictions, and the chef/owner came out to the table to speak with her about her meal choice. He created something specially for her. Wow! The aroma of the plates that would pass by was each its own temptation! I highly recommend the place to any local or owt-of-towner looking for a place to enjoy a good meal and have a few drinks afterwards, especially if you go on a Saturday night like we did.

I would recommend this gorgeous place to anyone. Karu & Y knows how to make a guest feel welcome.

Worst New Years Eve Dinner
I went to Karu and Y for New Years, Dinner was 600$ per couple the place was nice service was good the waiters very attentive. Food the worst in my life, the appetizers were ok but the entrees were very bad. For main course we received a snapper that was overcooked and bland, cracked baby conch that was on c r a c k ,chewy, hard and tasteless, and the dish was missing a froth no were to be found. The wagyu was cooked medium rare but tasteless, the rice was not even cook it was hard and it tasted old, Desserts disgusting. Dinner was very bad. We then moved to say goodbye to 2007 to the lounge lots of people but it was not exciting they announce that Dj Clue was going to be there no were to be seen. We said goodbye to 2007 then we left to the shore club to finish the year. The shore club does know how to throw a New Year?s Party. I hate to do this but when you pay so much money for dinner you expect perfection in every aspect. Very disappointed will never come back?

Ok where do I begin the neighborhood is the horrible. If your not mugged while walking in the club you better valet your car because who knows whats lurking in that area. The club inside is very modern but for 23 million dollars it better be. First you get clipped at the front with 20 bucks for parking or ten if your going into the rest. ( Than more money at the door) The resteraunt is terrible with small portions of over priced meats salads wines etc. The decor is really nice I guess thats what your paying for. One bar charges different prices for drinks than the other the staff is horribly rude at the bar along with sour mixtures in your drink. The clientile is your miami nightlife crew that on some nites is good and others gross. The latest I cant beleive this chick ultra modern nite club is actually catering to the hip hop crowd! where you can have gangsta fabulous along with your 12 dollar bud lite no thanks. Do your self a favor and just go to a regular nite club on sobe or even up in ft lauderdale. If you wanna great time at half the cost try going to christophers nite club they have been there for over 30 years and know how to treat there customers. Close down Karu you have failed miserably.

Good Restaurant??????Last night I went to a show at karu and y, the show was ok. So we decided to have dinner instead. Service was good, food was ok. For the amount of money you pay, I can get a better meal anywhere else that?s not so pretentious. Is not worth for the money you pay..

The internet is great because it allows "the common man" to get his/her opinion to millions. What a shame that he/she is a total idiot too stupid to take in and appreciate all the elements that make Karu & Y a fun experience. And what a shame the "professionals" working for what passes for newspapers in South Florida aren't very far behind.

Arrival:
Everyone complained about the location. Yes. the area has not lived up to its promise, but that's because all that gentrification the real estate boom was supposed to bring went bust. But that brings an unintentional coolness to the place. As if the three steps from your car to the door are like leaving the green zone in Iraq or something... please. it's more a reflection of the inexperience of the reviewer than of anything wrong with K&Y (see? even the name can be fun!).

I heard terrible things about the service. I simply cannot understand who would be upset about the service in this place! We escorted from our car to the door, from the door to the bar (to wait for the rest of our party) from the bar to the table with courtesy and professionalism. The bartender mixed up two perfect drinks while we waited and listened to the pianist and as soon as everyone arrived, two people showed up; one with a tray to whisk away our half-done drinks to our table and another to welcome us again and show us to our table.

Dining:
Our waiter was great, and explained everything well. The staff came just the right amount of times to offer water/more bread and the appetizers were fantastic! (the menu changes every two months so I won't go into the specifics... be assured you will eat well) The Main dishes were very interesting and tasty, although I admit my own choice wasn't as adventurous (I had a New York Strip that came perfectly medium rare). We also had the trout, which was delicious) The desserts were the work of a master!

Don't let the troglodytes keep you from Karu & Y!

(The Lounge) My brother, his two friends, and I were looking for a place to celebrate my brother's birthday last weekend. We called around and negotiated a deal with the table reservations host to get in for one bottle (he said he'd do us a favor). So.... we take a cab all the way from South Beach to go to Karu & Y. I find the host at the door, tell him about my reservation ... and he says: "I don't care what I told you, 4 guys are not getting in with one bottle. two, and i'll let you in." So what do we do? Go back to South Beach and buy the two bottles at Mokai ... which was an awesome time.

Don't support these liars. They have no idea how to run a business and take advantage of whoever they can.

I don't know if the other people writing reviews here were asleep, too old, or just bored
of life !! I'm 44 and went here with my wife for some dinner and some fun. What a place !!
This type of place is what makes Miami such an interesting and international city.
The food was good, the outside gardens were incredible and we managed to get to the
lounge and have a bunch of fun with 20-30+ year olds...Congratulations to the creators
of this place...great imagination !!!

Whoever had a bad dining experience must be ?glass is half empty? type of people! The service was exceptional! I had been to the lounge area before, but this was my first time dining. From the moment we arrived, the friendly hostess guided us to the lounge area by the piano while they got our table ready. We weren?t there for long before the hostess came back to seat us. As we entered he dining area we were greeted by the magnificent Chihuly chandelier. Visually it is brilliant. The interiors of Karu & Y are phenomenal; the silverware, hand painted table cloths & menus were all well thought out, great ambiance. Our waiter was very descriptive of everything that came to our table. Compliments of the chef, we began with a lamb dish which was wonderful to start off with. Then came our appetizers which was the watercress salad with pineapple and goat cheese ravioli. The entree was the braised short rib. I left the knife aside! It was so tender & just absolutely flavorful. The portions were just right. I didn?t finish my entree because I had to leave room for dessert. For dessert, I had the Chocolate tart. The waiter also brought us a slab a mini pastries compliments of the house. The presentation of everything was very memorable.
After dinner we headed to the outdoor lounge. On our way we passed a private dining room that was very Kubrick-esque. The rest of the evening was great. The staff (including the bartenders), were very friendly; a nice change from the beach attitude!
Although it?s pricey, I definitely recommend Karu & Y.

I and a couple of friends decide to try this place that everyone is bragging about. We arrive around 9 o?clock it took them around 1 hour to seat us. This place was busy which is good I believe. Finally they took us to our table; the restaurant is amazing beautiful chandelier, tables very good decor. So we order couple of appetizers to start off. Nothing really impressed me I had a wild mushroom ceviche there was nothing wild about it. Portobello mushrooms, shitakes and canned straw is this what you get at a top fine dining restaurant. It was disgusting the mushrooms tasted fermented and too much soy sauce. I also had the foie terrine it was good but the marmalade a little too strong in vinegar. One of my friends orders the fish it was bad not fresh at all it smell like you know what. My entree was not good at all the meat was dry no flavor at all, did they forget how to season and cook their food properly in this place. So I asked my friends, who is the chef of this place.Supposedly he is a master because our food taste like S*#@. This Master Chef had worked previously at la broche they say he got fired, chispa also got fired, the dinner also got fired. My question is why you would hire somebody with the portafolio to run a million dollar property, the only answer to go down. I think the chef needs to learn a lot maybe take some cooking lessons, and if this company has so much money invest in a chef that can cook like Michael Schwartz, Michelle Bernstein or the chef from table 8 this people know what they are doing. I wouldn?t recommend this place to anybody save your money and time. I don't understand how this place is being run. I guess they don't care. One last thing THE FOOD S@ks.

It was painful to pay the restaurant bill, the savory food is just terrible. Deserts are good. Pastry chef obviously knows what he's doing. Main courses, appetizers, terrible. Servers, irritating - did they forget that without clientele they will close? The kitchen needs to actually get the food to the table when it's hot and the food actually needs to taste good and not lie in it's descriptions. Very dissapointing. Lounge atmosphere OK but DONT EAT.

We recently went to try out the restaurant during Miami Spice. $35 a man, not bad. Food on the other hand, not good. We received tiny portions of everything. The watercress salad was excellent. I had the salmon and my wife had the braised rib. Rib good, salmon just o.k. In the middle of dinner they served us a small bite on a clever dish of some type of meat that the entire table questioned...not good. I took a consensus of everyone at the table and it was a unanimous "3" on the 10 scale for the mystery meat. In all fairness, it was the Miami Spice deal but I was super hungry still when I left. The reason I'm taking the time to write this is because they ticked me off at the bar. I ordered a bottle of bud light at the front bar and paid $7.69, gave her a $10 and said whatever. Then, at the back bar I ordered another Bud Light and they told me $9. I said the bar at the front told me $7.69. She said "It's $9." I said "should I go back to the front bar?" She then came clean and told me "Well, the tip is included." What a joke. Borderline scam. I wonder how many people tip on top of the $9. I guarantee they're banking on it. It's one thing if you hand someone a check and the tip is included but to verbally give the tab without any indication is downright sneaky. Otherwise, beatiful place, gorgeous cutting edge decor but skip the food and keep an eye on everything going on around in that place and outside that place....Evidently, they paid $23 million for the renovation and are using every trick in the book to get it back.

First of all let me say that I have lived in downtown Miami on and off for the past 11 years. Overtown is Overtown, one day it will be a great area but NOT in 2007. So for all the people who are complaining about the area and claim to be so worthly my advice is to do your research before you go.

I went to Karu & Y and had a wonderful night at the Y lounge, so this review is for the lounge part ONLY. The drink selection was great and the drinks were made right, the bartender was very friendly and although it got very crowded we were able to keep ordering drinks through out the night. The patio section is very nice and they had a fashion show with very interesting costumes. There were beautiful people all over and the music wasn't too loud.

Next week will be my business partner's birthday and so I began asking my friends who had dined at Karu, and they all were very dissapointed with the food. That is the reason why I went on line and decided to check out these reviews. We had plan to take my business partner out for dinner at Karu, she is a wonderful person and we were prepared to spend any amount of money for a great evening.

Needless to say that after reading the 20+ reviews we are going to pass. I own an Apartment Finding Agency / Realty office, and I am the Manager as well. If I was reading reviews such as these about my place of business I would do what ever it took to make it better .... So, is a Manager or anyone for that matter listening to all of these reviews at Karu???

We will go to a different Restaurant this weekend and I will keep checking these reviews, and talking to people who dine there, to see if it improves.
I plan to keep enjoying the Y lounge until then. But word of advice to the owner and manager of Karu, people do read these sites and they do decide whether to go or NOT go based on these reviews.

I came to visit Karu for a second time and this is my experience. Service is ok, and i notice that they change their menu. Perhaps they change the menu, but they have not change chef because the food is still unedible. I won't give this place anymore chances don't waste your time and money..

I am so upset, that this place doesn?t even deserve a review. The food is garbage. The food doesn?t make sense. I am not blaming the way it was cooked just the combination of flavors. No wonder nobody comes to this place. Advice, keep it better as a club or hire a new chef!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My husband and I along with 4 other couples went to Karu & Y for dinner on May 5, 2007. The place was modern and elegant therefore, we expected great service( given that we spent nearly $1300.00 on dinner and cocktails). Instead we were humilated and kicked out of the couches outside. The very rude and arrogant security claimed the area was just for VIP's (it was 9 p.m.) and the club was far from full. Our friends and I were enjoying cocktails after dinner and simply chatting in the patio area. We complained to the manager because of the embarrasing and humilating event thinking he would atleast be considerate enough to atleast say sorry. But instead we were questioned, and the manager after realizing what occured promised us a good time by giving bands that would guarantee us entrance to the club's vip. Instead, we were escorted to an empty room and told it was the VIP area, but somehow we were the only ones in the room all night. Needless to say, it was a waste of a night, money and a horrible time. We would never go back there again. They have alot to learn about service if they want to be in the club industry. Word of Advice: Karu & y, " Hire a Real Dj, One that plays music people have heard"!

I will never go there again. It is in the middle of a really bad neighborhood. The service is horrible. I literally had the worst time of my life. Music couldn't get any worse. The bathrooms located in the outside, are a free peep show for anyone willing to stand there and watch you. It definitely is not worth the time, money or any day of the week.

For those of you wanting to spend a saturday night at Karu with a group of friends..buy a bottle..and have a great time...this is not the place for you. I recently went to Karu to watch the De la Hoya/Mayweather fight, enjoy the night with my friends, and celebrate a friends birthday on Cinco de Mayo.

Service leaves much to be desired. After having a bottle stolen from our VP table, I attempted to speak to someone who could help us resolve the situation. You would think after paying $355 for a bottle in their VIP Lounge (one of 6 purchased throughout the night), management would atleast offer our group some type of accomadation. Not Karu !! After an hour of waiting around to speak to someone about the situation, I was told.. "we have security camera's sir, this never happens in our lounge". I thought to myself, I'm in a very bad part of town....in an outside VIP Lounge area looking at an abandoned metromover up above, with hundreds of people walking about..and I'm being told its not possible for someone to come and take a bottle from our table when me and my friends are distracted, talking..drinking..and enjoying the night. Anyways, to make a long story short..if you buy a bottle in Karu, take that bottle with you to the bathroom..to the dance floor..and everywhere else you go in that place. Chain the bottle to the table if you have too...Because if you don't...it might just walk out on you.

I am a regular on Wednesday?s fashion party. This week I decided to have dinner with my friends and believe me I regretted it. We order several appetizers the foie, meatballs and micro green salad. The foie excellent, the meatballs not my cup of tea and the micro green salad what a rip off. For entrees we order, Pheasant, Halibut and Pork. Not worth trying any of them, I have to give credit everything was cooked perfect, but the combinations not for me. I just don't understand what is the chef trying to accomplish with his style, his food is hard to comprehend. Confusion, Confusion. The restaurant is not worth trying, food is too expensive and service not great. The only positive thing about this place is the lounge on Wednesday nights, good crowd and beautiful people. Music can improve.

Pros: The Lounge Wednesday nights

Cons: The Food, Service, Need New Chef

This place is not worth for what it is. I think they are trying to hard with the whole "Alta Cocina" thing. What happen to real food. Everything has a puree, is this a place for baby's, what happen to vegetables cooked the proper way. I agree with most of the reviews the other people have submitted. Don't Waste Your Time. Desserts were great.

I came to have dinner at karu two weeks ago. Don't waste your money in this place the food is lousy, the dishes don't make sense. I been aroung other excellent restaurants around the world and this one is the worst. I rather spend my money in Burger King at least you know what you get. I had the Barramundi "Confusion" and my wife had the Pork Loin even worst. Service is ok, but needs improvement. The best thing about the restaurant is the decor and the club next door. If you want to see Karu just go for drinks. They should think of spending their money in a BETTER CHEF!!!

I would rate this restaurant with a "0" score but the bread was kind of good, so it gets a "1"
The nightmare begins with a reservation for a large party of people lost a few days before the dinner date.
We manage to arrange it again 10:30pm. Few hours before the scheduled dinner, they call to tell us that the reservation has to be moved to 11PM. We get there, and ended up seating at 12AM.
We were a large party so we sat at several tables. After 20 minutes of no one coming to our table I have to get up and get our own drinks at the bar for everyone at the table.
At 12:30am no one seems to want to take our order. I call the manager, he comes and tells me "I am sorry sir, sir this, sir that" Translated in other words to: "Damn we messed up" We order. People at the other tables are done eating, we still haven't gotten our food. Around 1am, a waiter comes with more menus, he had no clue that we have ordered already, so here goes another hint of no clue with what was going on with our table.
Manager comes again and he repeats: "I am sorry, bla bla bla bla" Translated this time to: "I don't care anymore, just wait"

At 1:15am our food arrives...Here goes another joke. Their sense of fine cuisine is limited to portions that are smaller than spoon size and I am not kidding! I've been in many restaurants around the world: France, Spain, Italy, England, Miami, but I never have seen so much BS around a place in the name of "Fine Dinning".

Bottom line, most of us left dishes half way and paid the overrated bill. They didn't even offer us a way to compensate the hassle. Even McDonald's would try to satisfy you.

Save your money, any place in Miami will surpass their food and service. These people are ages behind to a similar service at La Carreta.
The club is just so packed that we had to leave short after. This club is in the middle of the hood, it's scary to be stuck at a red light. Save yourself a hassle, go somewhere else.

First of all the place is in the hood. Then we sat down and eat and waited for ever for our food to come out(at Karu). All the staff looked like if they had a sick up there *** . They have to relax its not the army god.By the way I noticed there were new managers,They dont know what they are doing. I heard that the staff dont even make money working there. Now Y lounge was better ,music is good, bartenders and all the servers are really friendly.Dont go here unless you go to the Y lounge.
