Kissimmee Christian Academy worked wonders where public school let our son down! Our son attended an over crowded public school in which he felt was a waste of his time and had to be pushed to go to school daily. Our son had found himself in company with the wrong crowd and found himself in some trouble. He was not kicked out of public school with nowhere to go. We felt that forcing him to public school where he simply fell through the cracks and was involved with a troubled group of individuals was not working for him. Kissimmee Christian Academy was recommended to our son by another student and we enrolled our son immediately. Within a couple of weeks we saw a turn around not only in his attitude but his academic performance. Our son was getting up every morning and rushing his father to take him to school. He was sitting at the dining room table every evening and completing his studies. Pastor Wasson was good for our son in so many ways. Pastor Wasson gave him the opportunity to work out his troubled scenario and gave him the encoragement our son needed so very badly. We were so impressed that we recommended Kissimmee Christian Academy to a friend of ours who was having similar troubles with her daughter who attended another public school. Our friend observed the same positive turn around with her daughter. We were finally able to begin picturing our son graduating and could see he finally found a direction and placed his own goals to be acheived. Unfortunately we did not get to see our son graduate as he passed away in a car accident. Pastor Wasson was our only comfort during this difficult time. Pastor Wasson took time from his busy schedule to be at our sides. Pastor Wasson came to our home and comforted all of our son's friends as well. I have the highest respect for Pastor Wasson and his teaching staff. These wonderful people made our last moments with our son some of the most positive and memorable moments we could be blessed with. I RECOMMEND THIS SCHOOL!

Pros: This school will give your child direction where public school lacks personal attention.

Cons: None

.

I would like to advise anyone who maybe interested in sending their children to this school to think twice and not make the same mistake as I..I would also like to say please do your homework before you put your trust in these people..a consumer agency of Central Florida..and ask them if any complaints have been filed.I myself filed one and this school even refused to address the problem through them {people that are wrong run from the truth}!! They are deceitful in their running of this school,,you can never get a straight answer from the minister or his wife. They both lie right to your face!! Please check the consumer agencies before making a decision. Thankyou

My name is Lee Wasson and I am the Director at Kissimmee Christian Academy, established 1988.

Every teacher at KCA has at least a 4 year degree and some have been with us for more than 6 years. We have over 300 students from grades 1 through grade 12, graduate more than 97% of each senior class with more than 80% to college or vocational schools. We have dual enrollment several with colleges and universities for our juniors and seniors, dual enrollment in Florida Virtual School, Federal Title I computer lab, and FSHAA sports program administrated by one of the most successful (also degreed) coaches in the County, to name a few.

Our Director of Education holds a Master's Degree and over the last 15 years was the Dean of a two campus college in Maine and most recently Director of HR for the Muskie School of Government, the Graduate school for the University of Maine.

Our Academy has recently built a 40,000 square foot e-rated building with state-of-the-art security, full ADA compliant including elevator and all access, and the largest classrooms in the County. Most classrooms are 25 students or less.

Kissimmee Christian Academy is one of the most well equipped and well staffed private schools in Central Florida. We do make staffing changes as are appropriate to serving our students needs and eliminating conflicts of interests and vision.

We accept students of various abilities and offer programs and a varied curriculum including many electives and OJT. Our core curriculum is Accelerated Christian Education School of Tomorrow ,which meets or exceeds the Florida Course Codes for Honors credit where applied.

You may FACT CHECK my rating and review by making an appointment to visit our Academy, see our school and meet the people I have written about here.

God Bless and we look forward to seeing you!

This is a warning to anyone interested in sending their child to this school. First of all, the administration is inexperienced. The past or only holds a GED and has no training in education. Half of the teachers are not teachers and do not even hold a teaching degree. Some teachers were voluntaries who they put in the classroom because they had no one else to teach. But you can't even call them teachers because they don't teach anything any ways. They use a curriclum called pace. The books are inaccurate and don't teach anything. All the students learn is how to cheat. The student body are children who were kicked out of public school and had no where else to go. There is no disipline or consequneces for any of the students behavior. There is a high teacher turn over. It seems like every month another teacher leaves. I don't know if they leave or get fired. Which ever the case maybe it dosen't look good for a school to have new teachers all the time. Children need stability. I hope that things change and the school gets better, but for right now it needs a lot of work.
