Hemisphere is a great place to take a date. We enjoyed every bit of it! From the food to the service to the atmosphere. Not that expensive especially for what you get.

I went to Hemisphere for Valentine's Day of 2008 as all the other "common" romantic restaurants around Orlando were booked! Even though this was my last choice on my list of places to chose from for Valentine's Day dinner, it was not by any means a downgrade or a settling due to time restraints. My amazing experience began with me earlier in the day delivering flowers to the restaurant to have placed on my table when my reservation was set for. I wanted to get a feel for the restaurant before committing all the way, and I was impressed by the small setting yet elegant atmosphere. I called and spoke to the hostess 20 minutes before my reservation and asked to delay it a little, that was no problem, I also asked if the flowers would be set on the table before I got there, and likewise that went off without a hitch. I arrived at the restaurant and saw my table by the glass window with the flowers on top and I said PERFECT! Even though a small task, this sort of precise execution by the restaurant already gave me a good feeling for how the rest of the night would go. For the meal we chose two appetizers to share because I was CRAVING the Escargot and she was craving the shrimp and crab claws. The escargot was delicious and although it was wrapped in a pastry shell rather than sitting alone in sauce, the way I like, it still tasted great. The Shrimp and Crab Claws were good especially with the Guava dipping sauce, but the only complain I had was that one of the claws was near impossible to enjoy because the meat got stuck to the shell(perhaps a one time mishap). Our Entrees of Kobe Beef and Filet Mignon was exquisite!!! The sweet potato vanilla bean mash was to die for, I will most definitely be trying to imitate it in my kitchen. The only I can complain about was the semi-loud business group a couple tables down, it is in an airport by the way. Our bill came out to $180.00 which included a bottle of champagne($31). Overall a $200+ night well spent!

Pros: View, Food, Service

Cons: Trying to follow the signs that lead to the restaurant road

My fiance & I discovered this little gem upon learning of a five hour delay on his flight overseas. For those newcomers, this restuarant is located at the Hyatt airport hotel & can be accessed from the airport directly or from the hotel entrance (situated on airport property but has separate parking accomodations). We were passing time in the hotel bar where they had a phamplet for the restuarant advertising their wine dinner. Honestly, our goal was to pass the hours in a place a bit classier than your typical airport bar or fast food experience -- but nothing prepared us for Hemisphere.

Walking into the restaurant I must say the decor is nice, but I wouldn't say its won any interior decor awards. However if you're making plans, my suggestion is to make your reservation at sunset or after because the entire restuarant looks over the runway. I admit it's not your conventional view, but stricking nonetheless. The lights mimic that of a bustling little city, twinkling & blinking as it were. The windows are soundproof which is evident by the silence of the restaurant itself. The view was an incredible sight, however the food was magnificent as well. The menu changes seasonally as to take advantage of the peak selections - my experiences (which have been many since my first visit) typically have taken place in the Fall & Winter months & the menu captured a host of Fall-centric items - pumpkin, apples, gingerbread, spice etc. Our waitstaff have all been marvelous, very attentive & knowledgeble. Mind you I cannot speak to how equipped they would be during a rush, but our experiences have all been lovely. For us locals they host a monthly wine tasting dinner which is unique & fun - those dinners typically begin in Fall and end in Spring. It's amazing how few (local) people know about this restaurant because it really is a great find. Keep in mind it's a bit pricey, but in my opinion, well worth it!

Pros: Great to remember when your flight is delayed AND for those special occasions!

Cons: The only downfall is the parking situation - park at the hotel otherwise you have to pay (through the nose)
