Still there, waiting for 2 hours to get discharged after 4 hours to see someone... May be the worst hospital I've ever seen.

My wife and I took our daughter to the emergency room because she was complaining of stomach pains for more than 5 hours straight. Once we got there, we waited 3 hours before seeing the physician who was checking her. A nurse took some urine and blood samples and left (we waited one more hour after that). In the end, the doctor recommended us to "observe" her, gave her some tylenol and apple juice and sent us back. For that...they charged us $1500...and now we got a separate bill for physician charges. This has been the worst experience of our life. I personally believed that these people are the reason why the healthcare premiums are so high. PLEASE...DO NOT GO TO THAT HOSPITAL UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE!!!

Had a couple of bad experiences before but last night was the worst experience ever. We have a newly born little girl and needed to go to the hospital last night for my fiance having extreme back pain. We called the hospital just to ask if the hospital might have a place for us to wait that was safe for her to wait in so she would not be around people with contagious illnesses. The first person on the phone was very polite and nice and atleast tried to figure it out. They pasted us to a man who not only talked down to us but called my fianc stupid. That is right he actually said ""next time don't be so stupid and call with dumb questions"". This is by our first run in with people at this hospital but it will be the last. Rude people. Even with a life threatening emergency I rather go to a hospital further away.

My husband had a kidney pain today and we went to Centra Care in Sand Lake. The pain was so intense, they sent us to Dr. P Phillips, because they couldn't manage his pain. My husband told the nurse what happened, he was almost passing out, and they told us to wait..... and we waited for FIVE HOURS.
We asked a couple times how long will take and nobody knew it.
When we asked for the third time, they said that will take 20 minutes.....we waited for FORTY FIVE more minutes, and nothing!! FIVE HOURS for an emergency room??? A woman that works there (I think a recepcionist) said that she went with her husband and took her three hours waiting, I don't know if she said only to make us feel better, but this comment with a small laugh was even worse.
Shame on Dr. P. Phillips Hospital.

A stranger to the city, I took a visiting Brazilian nephew with dengue fever to the emergency room. We were treated with care and sympathy, though they were not familiar with dengue fever. On a return visit for more blood work the boy and his mother, neither of whom speaks English, were furnished with an interpreter via a telephone line so they could respond to questions and discuss the case with a physician. All went very well for us and the boy did not have to be interned. I would recommend the hospital to others.

I am currently in Florida visiting and had to be rushed to Dr Phillips Hospital because of chest pain, now im no stranger because I lived in Orlando, Florida for YEARS, but moved GLADLY, and unfortunately Dr Phillips was the closest hospital my family will take me because im a heart patient. Anyways, the staff in the emergency room are dumb UCF whores skipping past everyone room ignoring basically the calls for help. I sat in triage for almost 2 hours with a abnormal ekg of a heart rate 180bpm, and a very low blood pressure. The excuse was they didn't have no more beds, when I finally got in back I saw a nurse practitioner who was like ""WOW YOUR HEART RATE HIGH"" I thought to myself like no sht, still biting my tongue from saying something rude because once I go off, I go off. Then the nurse come, ""WOW YOUR HEART RATE HIGH"" I'm like yeah...can I have some medicine? they didn't give me anything. Then after you tell them your life story about everything and your medical history. Nurses come in one after another asking the same stupid questions over and over asking what is going on??? after I told them over 50 times what was going on. I saw a cardiologist after they admitted me on my birthday which is today, after I sat in the E.R for over 24 hours with a regular bed in a e.r room. Then stick me with needles until I finally cursed them all out. I got a new nurse, she had a issue with me, so I got a new nurse, then a new one. To tell the truth, I signed out against the doctors words despite my heart enzymes being high and more possible heart damage. They suck that much. They make signing out against medical advice sound so scary, I told them all to kiss my ass. DON'T GO HERE, AND IF YOU DO, THEY ARE NEVER 100% HONEST WITH WHATS GOING ON WITH YOU. GET YOUR DISCHARGE SUMMARY FROM MEDICAL RECORDS, THAT'S WHERE THE REAL TRUTH IS AT. NOT TO MENTION THE BLACK GUY IN THE EMERGENCY ROOM WITH DREADS BE TALKING SHT ABOUT PEOPLE WITH THIS WHITE GIRL, SO YEAH THEY BE TALKING ABOUT OTHER PATIENTS IN A DISGUSTING WAY WHICH IS SAD, AND SOMEONE NEED TO REPORT IT. GO TO FLORIDA HOSPITAL ON ROLLINS, THEY HAVE A LITTLE SENSE. TO BAD I WASN'T HOME BECAUSE MY WIFE IS A PHYSICIAN WITH BETTER AND HIGHER EDUCATION THAN THESE DUMB F'S WILL EVER HAVE. WHAT A WASTE OF LIFE WORKING AT THAT HOSPITAL.

My husband and I received no information about what was happening at this hospital. No one informed us that all of the lab tests came back negative the first day. Various doctors continued to perform more tests without explaining the procedures. When I was placed in the MRI machine for the second time I yelled to get out, but the testing continued without explanation.
My husband told them that my ankle circulation was cut off, but no medical personnel came to help.
NONE of the doctors gave us any test results.
I paid $50 to receive my hospital medical records.

I have read some good and bad reviews about this hospital, but I can only tell you about my experience...

We are from NJ, and we were on a family vacation in Orlando when my fiance started having muscle spasms in his back. He has had some back problems in the past, but he ignored all of the warning signs outside of each of the rides at the Universal parks. By the time we got back to the hotel at night, his back spasms became so bad that he could barely move. Tried taking some Aleve and taking a hot shower, but nothing helped.

We called the hotel's concierge to ask about the closest hospital, and they recommended Dr. P. Phillips Hospital, so that's where we went. The hospital's website even shows an estimated ER wait time (which said 1 hour when we checked.)

The location was very convenient to where we were staying. When we arrived, we got a wheelchair for him so he didn't have to walk. We went into the ER, and they took his info very quickly at the front window. We waited in the triage waiting area for 5-10 minutes, and then they called him back. Within 20 minutes from arriving at the hospital, he was in a ""Fast Track"" room. Ten minutes later, the doctor was in to see him. The doctor was great. Very nice & easy to talk to. Prescribed him some meds. They gave him his meds, he felt better within 15 minutes, and he was good to go!

The entire experience was about an hour long, and everyone was very nice. We didn't waste any time, and my fiance was able to enjoy the rest of the trip. :) A+++

In Orlando for work and ended up here w/kidney stones all alone. Understand need to assess patients based on symptoms, but woman in reception kept leaving and desk was empty. I was only person waiting. Was just handed barf bag and rudely sent me to sit down. Big hurry for insurance info though. Some family member waiting in waiting room was so outraged by watching me in such pain for so long and ignored that she went after disappearing reception/check in lady to get me help. (Bless that 30-something woman working on her PC in waiting room; I hope your mom is ok). Triage nurse was so rude-yelled at me because I forgot to tell her small symptom and because my blood pressure was sky high. Couldn't breathe and in extreme pain and she kept yelling at me; probably hyperventilating and she did not help me breath or calm down (aren't there tricks to helping breathing (bag/head between knees??) Did not have to be this traumatic. In incredible pain and no one came into room beside wonderful nurse who knew what I had and was very infomative and totally had me w/IV in arm and ready for doc. (Oh and insurance guy who asked for all of same info I already gave). My door was open as I was howling in pain and crying and no one came in - so many docs, nurse, techs walked by, stared and didn't ask/say a single thing. They should just closed the door instead of just staring and ignoring patient. Great tech in CAT scan. I probably waited 3 hours for any pain med at all while in the ER howling in pain and completely ignored. Isn't that a key premise in medicine these days to try to manage extreme, extreme pain especially in an ER)? Dr. was with me for a second and didn't even come back to give diagnosis. Sent PA who I later found out didn't give me correct info from radiology. No info on emergency care to get me through next few days and flight home other than see doc at home and take pain meds. Just didn't have to be this bad when you're in horrible pain, alone and 1000""s of miles from home. My company has a big meeting in Orlando each January and I will not let anyone go to this hospital.

Pros: 1 wonderful nurse in ER (very long dark hair-name ?)

Cons: Rude, cold, dr. couldn't be bothered

I took my 13 year old daughter in the emergency room because she was in terrible pain & had an extreme fever. Within the first minute the nurses had her wrapped in cold packs in efforts to cool her down because of her fever, and in less than three minutes she was examined by the doctor in the emergency room.\r
It was all so professional & fast I could not beleive it.\r
In less than 5 minutes she was admitted and being sent upstairs waiting for a surgeon to operate. Something else I thought was unusal was no one even approached me about insurance (which I did not have) or payment. I did pay all cash but how would they have known...thats was the most interesting part...payment was not a consideration before or during treatment.\r
I'm 57 years old and have 5 kids so my hospital experiences are numerous to say the least. Without a doubt this hospital & its staff provided the best treatment & service I have ever received.\r

Unlike the lady below who is probably a hosptal employee, my experience was horrible. Being in the army, I havelivedin 6 different states so far and been to the hospital in all of them. This hospital is the wrong one to go to for emergency care. I had better service in field medical tent while under mortar fire in Baghdad. The staff is extremely rude. Dont even think about asking them a queston that relates to your medical care because you'l get a snotty comment. I went with a bite onmy arm from a brown recluse spider. After they cutthe infection out and stuffing the wound they dont believe theres any need for pain killers. I highly reccomend going to a diferent hospital. Don let these people treat you. If i was in an ambulance dying I would have them go to a different hospital even if this was the closest one.

Avoid this facility at all costs.

We called ahead to see what the wait time in the emergency room was and were told doctors were treating patients immediately. We drove in, and we were told there was a 2 hour wait. This eventually became a 4.5 hour wait. Staff was unfriendly. Children were sleeping on floors and no one would provide information on request.

We we're staying at DisneyWorld and this will be a likely referral in case you or a loved one takes ill. Do your best to locate a 24-hour medical/doctors' office rather than Dr. Phillips.
