I went to see Dr. Merritt at the Barranco Clinic for Vertigo. When I arrived they first had me do a hearing test!?! For what purpose I still have no idea because they never explained anything to me. When I got back to see Dr. Merritt, he was very loud, rushed, condescending and did not listen to me. When he laid me back my eyes didn't move they way in which he felt a person with Vertigo eyes would move. However, I have a one eye which is a prosetesis. So, based on the lack of sudden eye movement he told me it was all in my head. My husband told him no, my wife has had this before with the same exact systems. Dr. Merrit then said well we can schedule some tests, and told me to see the receptionist on the way out.

Instead, I went to my family physican who referred me to someone who could help with my Vertigo. This physican was able determine by listening to my complaints/systems and lying me down in certain positions that it was Vertigo.

After three visits with that physican my Vertigo is under control. And all without any perscribed meds and without expensive testing and without a visit to a physiatrist, like Dr. Merritt recommended!

Side note: this was my second time experiencing vertigo in three years. I was told it never goes away just lays dormat.
