My wife and I have had a terrible experience at Winter Park Dental Services (Towncare Dental). They stubbornly refuse to give you an exam and clean your teeth on the same day. My wife has been there 3 separate times and they have NOT CLEANED HER TEETH YET! They've forgotten our appointment once, also made another appointment for a day that the Dentist wasn't going to be in!

They determined that my wife needed over $2K worth of dental work, but didn't give her an actual breakdown of the costs or why she needed certain procedures (like a gum treatment). They gave her a permanent crown that fell out a week later. We called the emergency line when it fell out (Saturday Night). THEY NEVER CALLED US BACK! I went in on Monday for a scheduled appointment for myself and the dentist said it was important my wife come in as soon as possible or risk permanent damage to the tooth or the crown. Why didn't they call us to set something like that up if it was so important?!

I went in for a simple cleaning (which they never performed) and they told me I would need over $1,100 worth of work done. I find this hard to believe, given that I'm 25 and have only had 1 cavity in my life. I brush twice daily and floss daily as well. They claimed that I also needed the mysterious "gum treatment." I subsequently went to another dentist that I trust and was told that I have no cavities!

Do yourself a favor and avoid this dentist at all costs!

Pros: none

Cons: Told me I needed $1,100 of work that I didn't really need

Poor service-waits of up to six months for appointment! They also don't seem to understand that just about EVERYONE would like an exam and a cleaning on the same day! The staff recently gave me 3 sales pitches when i was in there! NO, I do not want asuperfancy toothbrush/ plaqueremover/ flosser/ dishwasher for $350.00! The group also provided no support when I paid for an extra service that could be reimbursed by my insurnace company. The response I got? "You should definitely try your insurnace company's website!" Thanks for that tidbit!
